Do the Brits ever try too put the shoe on the other foot? Imagine F1 being run by Dutch, stewards being mostly Dutch, the TV broadcast controlled by Dutch and then all kinds of dubious decisions are being made that somehow favor the Dutch driver, and as a cherry on top a Dutch steward is sponsored by a betting company! Can you see how ridículos this looks? This is how it looks for many foreigners watching the current F1, it sure ain't a good look!
The problem with this is that it's Max who gets the dubious decisions, and most often Ferrari before him. This idea that British drivers are receiving bias doesn't work out in the real world. The sport is way less corrupt than it was in the Todt days.
@@intenzityd3181 It sure does work out that way. We can do like for like comparisons. Which driver do you think gets unprecedented high penalties? Take Mexico turn 4 as just one example: Verstappen stays on track with all 4 wheels, loses a position to Norris and still gets slapped a 10 second penalty for that. Sure, you could argue that it is against the rules to force another car off track, but now find me any other example similar to that where the driver even got penalized. Yet, I can easily name 20 examples that did not get penalized. In fact if you were to rewatch the races you can probably on average find 2 incidents similar to it. There is an obvious reason why incidents like turn 4 do not get penalized and that is because you always brake late when you are racing someone to a corner and that means cars will end up on the outside of the corner. This is why incidents like turn 4 Mexico happen all the time. And the only time a driver would ever get a penalty is when there is a lasting advantage. That's just one example of a controversial decision, but nearly everytime Verstappen races a British driver we get a controversial steward decision favoring the British driver.
F1 isn’t run by Brits, sorry. Go have a look at the nationalities of the main players in the FIA, General Manager Race Director and the Stewards. Sure, there is probably British bias in the media, but I fail to see this never ending “British bias” within the FIA.
@@JC-lu4se Explain how Herbert is a FIA steward. He is pretty unintelligent, he has shown 11 years of blatant bias while working at Sky Sports and probably got fired because of his bias and he works for a gambling web site. Furthermore while even in his role as steward has issued many outspoken personal opinions about drivers and expressed his desire multiple times for Norris to win the championship. And Herbert has been part of plenty controversial rulings that all favor British drivers. Now imagine a Dutch driver steward favoring a Dutch driver. Sounds ridiculous doesn't it? Half the FIA stewards are either British, Australian or Canadian. Just a coincide that there are that many from the Commonwealth? I don't think so.
yes its dies Johnny Herbert not only he publicly attacking Verstappen but he also do extra job for betting company pundit after race if this is no conflict of interest nothing is .
But don't you dare to touch the car of your opponent because that's results in a 50k fine meaning it's 10 times worse then driving under yellow lights with marshalls on track pulling Stroll out of the gravel trap with a crane. We older fans all remember what a crane can do to a driver if he drives into it unfortunately. RIP Jules Bianchi :(
You can also just breach technical directives and get away with it, like Mercedes did with changing the tire pressure. At least, when the drivers involved are British.
Johnny Perbert should not be a steward. Look at the brain rot comments he's made about Alonso. And his comments about red flags in Japan, in the rain, with heavy equipment on track. (I'm British I can't stand Perbert) He's an embarrassment to racing.
Spot on, Kimmy! I'm kinda surprised everyone is talking about Johhny boy and british bias, but virtually no one is saying anything about the implications of being a pundit for a sport's betting site.
The issue here is the obvious aim at having Lando challenge Max for the WDC instead of letting things play out. Johnny Hebert needs to go as Stewart as he has been on the media lately making it obvious that he favors Lando
You don't want a soccer referee that openly admits he wants teach a soccer player a lesson because he is an hard tackler and too often received a card already for his defensive/attacking actions. You don't want a soccer referee with the nationality of your opponent in international matches to prevent bias. You definite don't want to have the referee being sponsered by betting websites. Johnny is all of those 3 things but in Formula one as steward. And to add one last thing you don't want a referee dealing out fines and then him not proving that the money isn't used to enrich himself or his bosses.
I ask you to Re-Watch WHEN the Safety Car was called because of it being too Wet for the Drivers, it was STRAIGHT AFTER Lando got past George after their Pit Stop! It’s actually 4 Suss Decisions over the Race Weekend!
Also, how does the son of MCL team founder get to be a steward? Who's going to be stewards at the next three races? Toto? Zac? John Elkan? ... hell, why not Helmut Marko?
Fall guy ? Another brainrot comment His words carry weight well not anymore but he did judge with prejudice. There shouldn't be any stewards from any current racing teams in the ffin position.
I hate how F1 is supposed to be the pinnacle of world's motor sports but how things are handled it seems more like Pinnacle of clownery. I also hate how penalties are handled. Incident happened before the race then give the result of penalty hours after the race is finished. Don't get me started about the swearing bullshit, I just can't take F1 seriously when such stupid decisions are taken.
The fact that he can change results or influence, publicly critique Max and also work for a gambling company m, if the above is not incriminating, idk what else to say ..
I'll keep saying it until I'm blue in the face: The session time in practice and qualifying sessions needs to be the cutoff for leaving the pits, not crossing the line. If you cross the pit exit or safety car line or whatever before 00:00 you get to do one flying lap. No more need for impeding (enabling MUCH harsher penalties for those that still manage to impede - like, start from the pitlane-levels of harsh). Stopped sessions can be restarted if there is time for a car to make it from the garage to the track. It's a no-brainer. You can still have maximum lap times to stop drivers taking the piss obviously.
I do like the idea of putting back time on the clock while they are deciding if they are going to call a red flag. Like from the yellow being thrown to when the red flag comes up. A driver causing a red flag could still take part if they can get their car back to the pits. The stewards should be voting independently and private. If any steward shows clear bias then they should probably be shown the door. The whole thing needs oversight.
Gread vid as always Kimmy! Thought you might like to know that Josh Revell has just released his latest that is very similar to this probably just coincidence but an FYI in case its something that concerns you
haha thanks for the heads up but I very much doubt there's anything nefarious going on there or that Josh is even aware of the existence of this channel 😂 Coincidences happen and this has very much been a talking point as of late so not surprised there's others doing things with similar subject matter!
Just an comment....cars can't actually aquaplane at "any" speed. There is a very definite formula for aquaplaning. V = 9 x √P Not all slides and losing control in racing on a wet track is aquaplaning.
Let's not forget that he compared himself with Martin Brundle at some point. Like, why would Johnny do that? To be relatable? It's like comparing banana with strawberry. Two completely different things. Johnny is a race winner, sure. That is the advantage over Martin. But he is race steward, not TV commentator like Martin 🤦🏻♂️
I feel that this is not helped by what most people think of 'rules' more often are in fact actually guidelines and the FIA do keep changing, Sorry 'clarifying', them, which does not help. It was not that long ago the pundits used to show show car trajectories, compare entry speeds with how the driver normally took the corner and if the data showed that the driver would not have made the corner they were deemed to have driven the other car of the road, whereas now the only important thing seems to be who's nose was in front at the apex, even if you are unable to take the corner without going off. You can't blame the drivers really for just doing what the FIA says, the norm in F1 has always been to try and straddle that line to maximise performance. Re the safety car it appears that there is an unwritten rule to try not to interrupt the racing if it can be avoided, and to hell with safety, purely for financial/TV interests, see the reluctance to finish a race under safety car etc. were if the incident were to have happened at any other point in the race a VST or Safety Car would have been thrown. I feel there is no need for a force majeure clause in quali as it is part of the gamble go late and get the track at its best for a faster lap but then risk not getting a fast lap in due to red/yellow flags as opposed to going early when there is less risk to not being able to finish the lap but the track is not at its best.
I understand you, but do realize if the rules are guidelines instead of rules then what Masi did to Hamilton in Abu Dhabi 2021 should be accepted as well. If people argue rules are rules then so be it. If you want them to be guidelines then it can and will sometimes not be to the benefit of your hero. Take for example Mexico now FIA has made an ammendend to the rule meaning if your in front you still don't have to leave room and added as long as you stay within track limits yourself for 2025. I say fine fine but don't come complaining if Max in the future play mindgames luring people to overshoot the corner while defending and shouts over the radio 'he has to let me pass he didn't stayed within track limits. Too often fans wants rules to be rules if it benefits their hero and want rules to be guidelines if that benefits their hero what a surprise!
@@randar1969 Sorry, I guess I did not make myself clear I was not citing any incidents just that most of these decisions are based on guidelines not hard rules intentionally to give the stewards discretion. I was pointing out a fact, and intentionally making no value judgements on whether it is good/bad, right/wrong. I have watched F1 since the 1960s and do not really support any one driver, I want good competitive and safe races, I really do not care that much who specifically wins, as I am a 'fan' of F1 not a driver.
The worst decision was putting a safety car out when the rain came, but there had been no incident. Lawson and Tsunoda were on the correct wet tyres for the conditions and were overtaking those on the wrong tyres for the conditions, who should have been forced to also pit for the correct wet tyres. Really poor from the officials and ruined what was a race winning strategy for RB.
The problem like quite often is again inconsistency like one red flag is called right at the moment of an accident the other time a minute later. Telling people that they are pushing people out of track while on the same time saying if your in front you don't have to give room. giving 5k fine to someone who put the lives of marshalls in danger then giving 50k fines if you dare to touch your opponents car after the race. Those rules needs to be adressed so it's clear for everyone and leave little to no room for interpretation.
I'd agree if there wasn't zero visibility and pools of standing water where even the full wets would not help much. This track is not the same as some of the others where full wets are not beyond useless.
Hang on, the cars do not come to a dead stop when they finish their timed lap, and they are going (in the situation you outlined) very fast straight into an area where someone is in a dangerous position. I guess you were not watching F1 in the pre 1980s where drivers and marshals were killed or badly injured in such situations.
@@ralphhathaway-coley5460 If you want to fix that situation you should show a red light at the finish line , and to make it fair the drivers cought up in sector 1 at that moment should be allowed to do a timed lap after the track is green. But he isn't advocating for fairness until it's his hero getting shafted in sector one i bet.
You have a decision go against Max and a decision that favors Max. That is the luck of the draw. The fact is in order to win the WDC you have to beat all the other drivers and the FIA Race Director and Stewards. Calls that have cost a WDC have been common throughout F1's history. 2021 Both drivers deserved to win the WDC. But if Max crashed into Hamilton Max would still win on count back. If Hamilton had of won all the Max fans would be seeking blood for the Lewis passing off track and not resurrending the position. So we need consistency and punishments should bring back the Drive Thrus to stop cars we performance advantages just taking the penalty.
