Pitch black pool, beginning of every horror movie 😂. I always laugh out loud at least two or three times in your videos--much needed, so thank you, Steven. ❤ And congratulations to Duke on 44 days now--as Steven said, that is huge.
Next layover you might think of exploring Midtown, just a few hundred feet south of where you were staying. Downtown Reno used to be more lively before Harrah's closed. Now they are planning apartments there instead.
Steven I love that you shared your 43day story. It's so true that when you go to a meeting at that hour you are going to stay sober. Also it brought me back to my early days of sobriety. I remember how hard it was in the beginning to stay sober. Now I have over 20 years and I never think about a drink. It's so important to rally around the new person because that's when it's so hard. I really appreciate all the clips about AA. Reno is beautiful. The way you film things makes me feel like I'm with you. I just love it. Thank you for this video. ❤❤
I guess I thought Reno was just about gambling and casinos. You don't think about the families and people that have normal lives and reside in all those cute neighborhoods!! Really great idea that they had bikes where you stayed and that Manny seemed to know her way around. Thank you for being supportive to and turn their life around for the better needs to be commended. You could keep your sobriety a secret but it is nice that you openly share your battles and celebrations to set an example for others and include that your life has not always been a bed of roses. Good for you!! Hope your thighs aren't screaming at you today from the bike ride!!
I’ll have 30 years sober next month. You’re right. It’s easier to be sober for 3p years than it was to be sober 43 days. It gets easier with time. Reno reminds me of the first Sister Act movie. I can hear the sound track from the scene where the Sisters are flying into Reno to save “Sister Mary Clarence.” It’s a fun movie. I like it because of the redemption arc. Delores/ Mary Clarence grows from the start of the movie to the end.
I admire anyone who has a problem with drinking & then working on stopping very much. Those first few months has got to be hard & to continue being strong & working thru it take a lot of strength.👏 What beautiful scenery you rode thru. Love all the trees & landscape you showed. I feel we need to take care of our homeless. We’re a rich country (well the government is from our taxes) & there shouldn’t be one person homeless if they don’t want to be. The police like to criminalize them for sleeping on benches & elsewhere & arrest them or give them fines instead of getting them help. It breaks my heart. Mostly our veterans who fought for our country & the government don’t help them like they should with their mental or physical health. The end of your video is hilarious! 🤣🏊🥷🏻✌️😁💚👍
I’m so glad you like Reno! I was just down by the Truckee today exactly where you were! I wanted to video a birthday message to a family member from there. The neighborhood above the Truckee where that Tutor style house was is amazing . And our museum isn’t too far away either. Also happy you got to enjoy the restaurant on the balcony. It’s a fun hotel.
@@leslieschaffer2495 Riverwalk is so lovely. I lived above the River and used the Riverwalk anytime I wanted to go downtown: beautiful and safe. The homeless are there, but they are not aggressive. The police department manages the situation.
Thanks so much for the trip down memory lane! I lived in Reno before the pandemic, now I'm in Cleveland (long story). The Truckee River flows north out of Lake Tahoe, through Reno/Sparks and up to Washoe Lake. Washoe are the native American people who live in the valley. I'm thinking about getting there again sometime. Love your channel!
Hi Steven! This is a really good video! Very scenic! I've been to some of the places you went. That made it even more fun to watch! There's a Walgreens in Reno on Virginia that's literally built over a freeway. I've never seen another like it.
Who would have guessed Reno was so verdant and riparian! (Keeping Up Appearances reference!). I know too many people suffering from brain and spinal injuries because they didn’t wear their helmets. You should be spanked, or at least forced to watch a video about the difference a helmet makes in a crash. Especially for older people! Haha! I am 12 years older than you. Next time you are stuck in BNA at that horrible motel in that dead end neighborhood, give me a couple of days advance notice. I will come and get you and take you to a great lunch. On me! Ignore my user name! It was a long time ago and circumstances were different. Ha! I enjoy your layovers and museum visits immensely. I appreciate your outlook on life.
Steven, the old saying, "You never forget how to ride a bike," is true. 😂
As always, a sharp dressed man 😊
You have such a lovely community within your subscribers. ❤
Yes I remember Romper room. I liked that show. 😂. I also remember The Electric company and Zoom. Definitely shows my age 😅
I loved Zoom!
Tim Walz was in Reno also.💙🇺🇸💙

I have 12 years and love when newbies share their days, it is so humbling and a reminder to not take the days for granted.

Reno is so beautiful that makes me wonder how much rents are?
I stay at the Peppermill when I am in Reno.
