The reason that Metaphor: Re-Fantazio looks similar to persona, is because its made by the same creators, ATLUS! and while it might look like a series that has existed for a while, its actually brand new! and as a general ATLUS fan, im always excited for a new series. And if youre curious, its not _just_ a turn based strategy game. From the general trailers it seems to be a mix between the 3D beat-em-ups (i have no idea what theyre actually called, but its games like Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, those kinds of games) and the usual turn based system that Shin Megami Tensei has (probably with some tweaks)
It's an action RPG/JRPG hybrid. Devil May Cry and Bayonetta are character action games. Metaphor likely won't have real time combat quite that complex, probably more akin to the Trails of Mana remake or the newer Ys games, not the technical complexity of DMC or Bayo. The thing setting an action RPG and a character action game apart is RPG mechanics. DMC or Bayo don't really have stats or "leveling up", just pure skill. While a game like the Trails of Mana has typical RPG progression with stats and leveling up but with real time yet somewhat simplistic combat.
About Metaphor, it’s made by the same people in Atlus that worked on Personas 3-5. It’s a 35th anniversary game for Atlus and from what we’ve seen so far, looks like a love letter to Persona, Soul Hackers, SMT, and Digital Devil Saga. Yeah Frontiers is like the best 7/10 game ever. The game is insanely unpolished in many areas but DANG is it fun. The story is also finally worth a damn after an entire decade of awful Sonic games and stories. It's super jank but still incredibly fun regardless, like the first Devil May Cry or Mega Man ZX.
The Quidditch game seems scummy. Almost like they pulled it out of the Wizard game just to make it a stand-alone once they realized the game would be a success.
No Quidditch is a sport game like rocket league, it would work better if it was standalone as it means everything development wise can go specifically to the game, and not have it be an after thought
Iirc, portkey games wanted to add quidditch to Hogwarts legacy but didn't have the budget so it was scrapped. Though they did mention that they would look into making a quidditch game if there was enough interest and they had various surveys last year asking people if they were interested. Since Hogwarts legacy was a big success, I wouldn't be surprised if they got the budget and okay from WB to make it soon after HL released.

There are a bunch of Black Myth Wukong gameplay trailers out right now (they dropped like months before the summers games fest). I highly recommend checking them out, the game looks Insane so far espcially the fights. From what info we have so far it looks like a souls-like that will follow the mythical journey to the west and apparently (altho this isn't confirmed yet) you change forms and weapons based on what enemies you have beaten. Again highly recommend checking out both game play trailers.

Fun Fact: Monster Hunter turns 20 years old this year (2004 - 2024). So yeah, it originally was supposed to be like Baulder's Gate or Dragon Quest but with their own dungeon/monster series. But as the series improved, I do think many were introduced to it via Monster Hunter 3 Tri, but I do remember seeing the US cover of "Monster Hunter" for the PS2 20 years ago, but I wasn't sure at the time what the game really looked like since there was no playable demo to play for the PS2. So up until Monster Hunter Tri/3 for the Nintendo Wii, I had no idea what it was until I saw gameplay of number 3. But yeah, it feels like as time goes on, Summer Games Fest really is trying to be like the good old days of E3 but just improvised and slight improvements each year until it hits a certain point.

As one who has 900 hours in Civ 6 for the switch. I can conferm, it does some special things to one's mental state. Espically when late game lag starts melting your console.
There was another game revealed called Battle Aces, but the problem I have was the animated portion was all action packed and made it look like it was gonna be a legit game about wars with robots with you in the middle being able to actively control your units Then it was revealed to be an RTS and I got disappointed

About refantazio. It's celebration of Atlus's 35th anniversary including mechanics from all of their different types of RPGs atleast from what i heard. You have the combat from SMT and some mechanics from persona some mechanics from etrian odyssey some from the Raidou games i think (the real time combat before you get hit could be idk please correct me on that) and if i had any money left cuz i spent it all on SMT V-engeance i would buy it.

About refantazio. It's celebration of Atlus's 35th anniversary including mechanics from all of their different types of RPGs atleast from what i heard. You have the combat from SMT and some mechanics from persona some mechanics from etrian odyssey some from the Raidou games i think (the real time combat before you get hit could be idk please correct me on that) and if i had any money left cuz i spent it all on SMT V-engeance i would buy it.
Between this, Persona 3 Reload, and SMT V V, Atlus has been killing it this year.
