- The 1991 Addams Family movie, directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, shows the strength of family unity and traditions-irregardless of how strange your family is.

In this video essay, I look past the sight gags and dark comedy to the underlying message of love and forgiveness this family has for each other.

The Addams family is so loving and open. They are the best family.
A perfect/imperfect family/movie.
I love when Morticia goes through Fester's bag and finds all his killing gear and she's low key offended that he thinks they don't enough. Fester, that was your sign that this is the place you belong.
That is a great moment!
Do more plz...i love movies that have values. Nowadays its a rare thing
Indeed
You keep finding hidden gems. This is great work.

Is it a coincidence that the name used is addams? Like adam and eve.
It probably is a coincidence, because the name comes from the cartoonist, Charles Addams, but it does seem fittingly appropriate.
Was looking for Addams Family video essays and found this. Wouldn't leave a comment except it seems like a channel small enough to listen to some advice. CUT DOWN YOUR SUMMARY! You spend almost the entirety of this video summarizing the plot of the movie with a few bits of information thrown in, but any good analysis should only need to describe plot to contextualize specific analysis. However, if you stripped the summary out, you'd have less than a minute of real content here. DIG DEEPER. You don't have to agree with a film's message, and there are going to be complexities to themes and metaphors that you can dig deeper into. You give off the appearance and sound of a competent film youtuber such that I thought you might be semi-popular but the substance is NOT there.
I am intrigued by your comment because it is the opposite to what I usually receive and that makes it more helpful. Thank you for your perspective. I have much to improve upon.
@@MoralofthisStory What are the comments you normally receive like?
@@Gloria_Cook Usually, I am told that I am looking too deep and not giving enough context. Which I think is also right in some cases (and with some people). I'm trying to find that perfect balance.
This is art and this creators perspective. Nothing is perfect but this work is most definitely commendable. Nice work
