Sounds awesome! I wonder if that is basically a BMW Opposed motorcycle engine underneath that shrouding. It sure looks/sounds like one.

The Lotus Elan also used rubber "gweebos" (sorry if I mis-spelled that) instead of u-joints in the independent rear suspension.

I like the length of the video and the commentary, always nice to hear your thoughts and insights into these peculiar oddities. As a sidebar what is the status of the 4G63-Sixty project, is it still around?

Does the 600 have a normal differential in the back? I heard the reason for the two rear wheels being so close on the normal Isetta was that they didn't want the extra expense of a differential.

Far superior to the three-wheel Isetta. I'm surprised they did not make more of them.

Great little engine compared to the standard single cylinder Isetta.

Calling any Isetta a limousine is a stretch.

    • @jorgetoro3573

It's because in Germany, called limousine or "Innenlenker" at the sedan

The Isetta was originally an Italian car built by Iso, and BMW bought it out to make the BMW Isetta, pretty much identical but with a BMW motorcycle engine. BMW then went on to design the 600 4 seater based on using as many Isetta parts as possible, but it was not an Isetta because it did not originate from Iso. Most people still called it the 600 Isetta.

*I'm disappointed you didn't say 'This engine has two-cylinders' another 7,821 times*
*I'm disappointed you didn't say 'BMW' another 7,821 times*
*I'm disappointed you didn't mention & point to a 'muffler' enough times...no one in America
has ever heard of such a component...this too deserved 7,821 mentions*
( *this video is an excellent example of 'some dink w/a few extra dollars points at shit endlessly because he doesn't know fuck-all' and by that predicate 'no one else knows fuck-all
    either'*)

@@lesreed7943 I'm sorry you didn't like my comment. I'm only pointing out the obvious, not a dislike. The BMW taxi is very cute, hardly a limo, that's all. Is like highlighting a Cessna 172 that ferries passengers in the Bahamas and calling it an airliner. You got to be kidding!

@@TWTR4EVER Calling it a limo is an obvious send up - that you didn't see it is your look out. It's posted for our enjoyment.
