I used to do scale modeling way back, I think it is close to a decade now. thanks to this i kinda want to get back into that. I should pick up a model kit soon and see how well it goes up against my miniature bulding skill...
@ShaneFrakes Is it? It might be. I never paid attention when I was younger. It was more about how good it looks. The tank at 1:18 underside is pretty low. Doesn't the M41 have a higher underside?
Thank you for your INFO. That little extra effort did help. I knew about scale but I made train models so I fond out that O scale. Fits very well for 40k so that how I scale. I like how you put your own spin to it. Thank you for all your hard work. Keep it Kool and Real Peace!
That was an awesome vid mate, many thanks for that you cleared many questions for me. I cant find that APC anywhere ;( I think ill go for something 1/35th. Ill keep you posted bud. Many thanks.
@Darthburn Nice. Collector items now. Like $100+ on ebay. :) I hate when they do that. I've been trying to get my hands on the Enterprise-C 1/1400 but it's so expensive I'd be afraid to build it.
I've looked at converting model kits for other games, like taking modern tanks to use a sci-fi grav tanks. Currently scratch building a German A7V to use as a steam powered tank for my Weird West campaign. Got the basic hull shape done, currently trying to figure out the best way to build a track system for it! But I've been busy so I haven't done much work on it lately.
While the model itself may be cheaper, when you add in the extras you might need to purchase and the time needed to do the extra conversion work, I'm not sure how much you'd be saving. But it is something to think about, especially if you find stuff really really cheap.
Nice ideals , but if you ever want to take your army to an ofical tournament I think at least half of it has to be GW parts. Bummer! I do question the necessity of it. I mean the art aspect of the converting is awesome and I would fully recommend if that's what interests you. If it's a cost issue , the price of things on the web .... you can average anywhere between 25-50% saving if you shop.
Scale Correlations Wargames - Scale Models - Railway 6mm WG = 1/200th SM = Z Gauge , 10mm WG = 1/144th SM = N Gauge, 15mm WG = 1/87th SM = 00 Gauge, 20mm WG =1/76 to 1/72 SM = HO Gauge, 25mm to 32mm WG = 1/56 to 1/48 SM = O Gauge, 50mm WG = 1/35 SM = S Gauge (I think)
@SMConsortium I wrong because the turret for the M41 is way different from yours, but then again it could be a different variant. That is the only tank that i can think of to match your model. :/
The scales may be out for Spacemariens, but how about guard? After all spacemarines are big guys. Why not takea world war II German Nashorn and modify it to be a Basalisk (One of many possible examples) Even flyers for appocalypse, I have seen out there in the interweb a conversion of a Stukka to be an Ork fighta-bomma. Scale isn't everything, you can always modify the model wiht plastic card and green stuff. Just my humble thoughts.
Oh, and by the way scale moddeling miniatures are ALOT funner (yeah, funner) to do then GW models as they have lots of more (and often even more detailed) parts in the sprues! :)
I have seen a guy take the treads from an 1/35 M1 Abrams, and create a Baneblade from it with some creative plasticard work here check it out it looks bad-ass.
I buy 1/35 tanks all the time for $5-10 on sale. If I don't like the way it turned out I smash it and use the pieces for building terrain that has blown up tanks buried in the land. Cool Star Wars models in the stack behind you.
Emhar make a few of the British WWI tanks, and about the only manufacturer that does them in plastic. They are however somewhat of a dog of a kit. Hobby Hoss??

Emhar is the only one that makes those early WW1 tanks. Around $50 each, which is a lot consider they are ancient kits with no detail.

yay show more. Also I noticed that the local hobby store always has stuff that they're trying to get rid of
Cool, nice to see those! They also could be weapons from different worlds during the crusade times.

@SMConsortium 98% sure. Unless you count resin kits and want to pay several hundred dollars.
@Darthburn I love that drop ship! Those kits are expensive now. It's the Halycon model?

@BlackSheep0ne OH! Thanks! That sounds about right!
Sorry. I tried not to, but I laughed. Flames make everything awsomer!
Very cool. I have the aliens drop ship model that I am going to be putting together soon.
It's a M48 Patton I think.
Very cool, thank you for showing us the different scales!! I always wondered this when I was going to make a looted wagon for my Orks :) Cheers!

Do orks matey! I have a mate that has an ork army and his scratch built and converted tanks and stompers are amazing!
@ThePaintingClinic Dude, it was the 80's. I was a teen. Flames DID make everything awesomer! lol

I have a friend who uses scale models to make Ork vehicles and they rock.
Ya Orcs and WW1 and WW2 stuff is PURRRRRRFECT!!!!! just add platicard and your all good! NICE video Buddy!!!!!!
@Catachan1brainleaf Hey, thanks for the suggestion of the Westwind forum, out there checking it out now!

@DaDiceRolla I will!
I want to say that's a M41 Walker Bulldog (1:18) I seen people take KV-2 (4:24) tanks and use them in there Death Korps of Krieg army.

Ha that was funny on the logic for the landraider
DK I think the manufacture is called Hobby " Boss",, they actually have some killer models.
@ThePaintingClinic You sure man? Cause I thought I saw the British Mark by other companies before.

The tank that you said was a Sherman....nope. That's an M48A3 Patton Tank used in Vietnam.
@JynxBlack13 well the link wont go in but check out warseer and search for the Arctic Wolves
@SMConsortium Yes, 1989
the reason why some GW stuff looks like the MK1 tank is because GW took the idea from it to make the russ tank

Hobby Hoss??
I'm really sorry. but your apache made me giggle like a little girl!
@mkingy1 er......ok..........
What´s the scale? HAHA, it´s written clearly on the box top...some DUMB question!
