@@Kigoz4Life , between 1:02 and 1:06 you can see there are white shades being raised and these are also on the front and the side of the glass in the bathroom where the neighboring house is so you can lower the electronic window shades for privacy. But yea as much as I love many of these ocean-front properties, that is just wayyyy too close for real comfort having that house where you're just a few feet apart... Then on the other side of the house is no doubt another "lot" where another house could be built practically on top of you...

I used to live in The Colony, before all the recent beach erosion and the unrelenting surf isn't pleasant ALL THE TIME. Most people didn't stay at the beach with harsh winter storms, the waves would shake the deck and house. Then, there are the annual Malibu commute problems of PCH mudslides. As for leaving doors (a wall!) open to the sea breeze. The ocean is cold, resulting in cold breezes much of the time. So, would I move back? Only during the summer and not in this price range. Funny not all that many years ago zero people would build out on the water. Times change.

Thought I would share a detail on how the Steel Infrastructure is done if anyone is interested. We did a big steel project as part of our home. The steel is all done by a separate steel fabricator of course. The Architect provides the CAD drawings, those go the the Steel fab. The Final Steel shows up on site, sort of like an erector set, all the pieces are labeled and they use the drawings to assemble the I-Beams, the Steel connectors, all the way down to the bolts. The I-Beams look like they are Pre Drilled at the Fab Plant with holes in the Beam "Channel", but they are actually punched. Ours were 2 holes, top and bottom, every 12 inches. This allows our builder to place a large 2x12 inside the I-Beam channel. Then they drill thru all the holes from the other side of the I-Beam thru the wood. Then put another 2x12 on the other side of the I-Beam and drill back thru. Then they Bolt the 2x12 together in the I-Beam channel. So, they basically make a wood sandwich in the channel of the I-Beam. That way they can use traditional Joists and Joist hangars for the transition from Steel to Wood. I had never seen it done before and I am an Engineer so it was pretty awesome to see it. We needed a 34 foot open span and with the super large accordion doors we went with, the deflection spec was I think 1/8", so it took some serious steel work.

I love Enes. He knows his viewers too well that he knew people would talk about the fundation and how close the water was to the house. So he did his research to explain how safe it is to all of us. I am just not sure about that price though. I've seen other houses in malibu on this channel posted a few months back that had more to offer with a better price. Still an amazing tour and looking forward the next malibu house that Mikey mentioned at the end of this video.

Not gona lie, this is incredible house. I heard in malibu temperatures rarely fall under 49°F trough out the year, but i also heard that winters are long and bit gloomy. But considering that you can always close this house up, im prety sure you can stay warm and cozy inside this beauty all year. The open space view on the ocean is realy something else and the sound of it is indeed a great white noice to sleep with im sure.

I totally agree, Steve. Another thing that impressed me was the way he described the foundation of the house. It really was one of the most impressive foundations I’ve seen on any beach house. It reminded me of this:
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” (Matthew 4: 24-27)

Thank you for responding Gloria. You have blessed my day. His comfort, wisdom and joy Be with you always!

Hi Enes and team- I actually verbalized my excitement when I saw you were touring this home. I spotted this one on Zillow when it first hit the market and instantly fell in love. I watch your videos every Monday evening. Also, my 16 year old niece joins me and we have a nice meal while watching. Initially, she didn't quite know what to think about watching home tours on RUclips with her old, boring uncle. But she quickly became a fan like myself. I hoped it would show her a world she hasn't seen, and let her know that her life doesn't have to be relegated to our small hometown in a flyover state. The properties you tour in different locales definitely give her (and myself) some perspective on what else is out there, and hopefully inspire her to strive for more. Keep up the great work guys! P.S. Mikey's Heat movie reference was spot on.🔥

Very smart on those pylons...not only do they secure this home (perhaps to the point of overkill at this time), but they situate the home high enough to manage future sea-level rise and erosion over the next decade. Plus, since they are so well built and tall, they can act as a solid foundation for a newer home further out in the future in case the ocean is even higher. Well done...(oh, yeah, and amazing views ha)

First view made me think how minimal all the rooms look. Perfect as a rental, easy to clean after each booking. 69k for a month sounds like a great deal!
It will be in some movie with the Pacific rushing in. But it's a pretty cool idea.
The YE reference certainly dates the video even now. Guess even the super rich need to know the neighborhood.
    Thanks, another excellent home tour!

I don’t understand what you mean by maintenance, either. These materials are build to withstand the salt air. Sure, you have to hire a window washing service to come in once a week, but you don’t have to pay for any lawn cutting or landscaping. Most properties at this cost would need a full time gardener. It’s a perfect vacation home, because you can close it up for long periods of time without needing a full time property manager always there doing upkeep.

Having lived in Malibu, in a home directly on the sand, I can 100% say there are maintenance costs.
Obviously the salt water, wind, etc. tend to beatbeat the house up a bit more than if it were even on the other side of PCH.
I can also say, the sound and smells in this area are some of my favorite in the world. Waking up to salty ocean air coming right through your sliding doors and windows… There’s nothing like it. The sound… it’s absolutely unbelievable - and for people who aren’t used to living in Malibu [especially on the beach side of PCH] 😮😮 always immediately blown away by the sound, and then the smell of the salt water, etc.
Surprisingly, you do get used to the sound after a while.
A key factor though, is choosing the correct materials to build with.
You can either go the modern route and use glass, stainless, etc.
Or you can go the more 1960s style and go with woods like Teak, etc. Obviously wood is going to require more continual upkeep and preventative maintenance, but if you’re going for a specific 1960s beach bungalow aesthetic, to maintain the original design [like where I lived], it totally makes sense.
Also as someone said before, the builders are very upfront with materials, maintenance cost, etc… as long as you choose the correct contractor /builder.
This place does remind me of the place in Heat as well.
This is, by far, my favorite home you guys have done. Maybe I’m biased because I love Malibu, but this place is exceptional. I would love to know exactly where on PCH this home is located - I have a feeling it’s not super far up the coast because of the type of beach. Regardless, it’s absolutely my dream home in nearly every way.
This place and a 2-bedroom in the 11th in Paris and I’m good for life.

They have to either used as movie sets, wedding venue's, event/business rentals. If they are lived in, its only for a week before the person that owns it moves on to the next home. Imagine the wealth needed to comfortably buy a home like this or to rent it for 69k a month! That being said, love watching the videos you guys make....that show us how the .0001% live!
