    John Hammond, had the greatest admiration, and respect for Robert Lockwood. And still loves, respects, and honors Robert Lockwood's memory. As all of us do. Who were Tight with Robert Lockwood and the wonderful Lockwood Family. I miss My mentor, my guardian, my best friend, my teacher. Robert Lockwood. God Bless The Dead.

      John Hammond, is in a class all his own. A master of his craft. He plays consistently more dates. And is continuously honing his vocal skills, his harp, and his guitar playing. No one.!!! Works harder, to bring the material, hot and piping to the bandstand. Like John Paul does. Such is the depth, of his dedication. To the musical form. And to his world wide audience. Having been close friends, with John P. Hammond for 45 plus years. Thru good times, and thru bad times. John has never changed as a person. His guidance, his love, his devotion as a friend. Has made all the difference in my checquered life. Aw. There's nobody like John, he's the best, F**k the rest.

    I will not degrade myself, and stoop down low as the uninformed fools below. Who made such ugly comments. About something that they absolutely. Are unqualified to speak upon. As a professional artist. And lifelong friends, and guitar student. Of both Robert Lockwood. Who was my guardian and adopted father. And mentor. And John Paul Hammond. Who has been my warmest, and close personal friend. For over 55 years. I can speak with authority, upon this subject at hand fully. Without race baiting, or rancour. Whatsoever. John has continuously toured and played professionally, since 1962.No one has been and was, and is more respected in the field of Blues Music than he. In 1970 I was at the Ash Grove in California. When John opened for my Godfather and boss . Howling Wolf. Wolf adored John Paul Hammond. As did John adore wolf. Hubert Sumlin and I were lifelong friends. As we're John and Hubert. Little Brother Montgomery, Sunnyland Slim, Eddie Taylor, Jimmie Reed, Lowell Fulsom., BBKing. All recognized early on, that John Paul Hammond, was the real deal. John demanded that these artists be recognized. When all the young black men of my age Wanted nothing to do with the blues tradition. Untill they found out That they could make money, pretending to be authentic. Blues men. Playing a watered down version of the blues. As they shuck and jive the audience. I have stage handed, bodyguarded and hauled equipment for all of the greatest names in soul, disco, R and b and Rock and Roll and Blues. Which I have played for over 60 years. All around the world. Always remember one important fact. The Guitar Neck doesn't know what color your skin is. And it damn sure don't care Color and kind don't come into it. At all. I know plenty of cats down home that can't pour piss out of a boot. As far as picking, and singing blues. And their skin is black. My skin is Red. I am an American Indian. Born here. The great Grandson of an Iroquois War Chief from New York State. So get your facts straight. Before you make false accusations. And try to assassinate someone's personal character, that is beyond reproach.

      You know what brother, more power to you. Your story is unique no doubt and your connection to the blues is authentic if what you say is true. That don’t erase the history of the blues and how it started. I don’t wanna play any games with who can and can’t play blues but im just telling you the history of how Blues came to be, and specifically how it came to be in a certain community. Blues has been coopted and stolen, whether you agree or disagree is not up to you. Listen to the voiced of other black men and women who have had their art and music stolen from them and used for financial gain.

    Robert Lockwood Jr. was playing the blues with Robert Johnson, and Johnny Shines long before John Hammond was even born, and yet in this video he apears as nothing else than a decoration for the hotheaded John Hammond. If one could listen this only as an audio recording he wouldnt have even known Robert Lockwood was participating since he didnt get to sing, nor was his guitar heard. There's only one blues legend in this video for me, and it aint John Hammond.

      The audio engineer screwed up the sound mix. You guys talk out of your ass. Robert Lockwood was my friend and teacher all my life. As John Paul Hammond has also been. Take your hate somewhere else.....

      You don't know clearly what you are slinging here. John Hammond is anything but hotheaded. Having been his close friend 45 plus years. I can say that. Because Haters are gonna Hate.....!!!

    There just one Legend here, Mr LOCKWOOD. The other one is just the son of a legendary producer. WTF

  • @danielstaples982
    @danielstaples982 9 лет назад +1

    We see here that Mr. J Hammond was never a "band" type of guy and people just walked away from him left and right.

    The fuck did Hammond bring Robert Lockwood with himself when he's doing all the playing and singing by himself with no respect to the blues legend at all?!
