As a reading teacher of over 30 years, Tasha Tudor is one of my favorite people. I had the pleasure of meeting her several times and even developed a correspondence with her. What a joy to see her remember in this tea!

Having worked part-time as a library clerk in the Children’s Room of a local library for a time, I visited the magical world of all children through observation and the push of my fingers on any given page. The illustrations of so many of the early authors like Tasha Tudor and Beatrix Potter are a blessing to behold. May we never lose the inquisitive nature that learning evokes. Exposure to our local libraries are vital to keeping our imaginations alive! Bless you for sharing your thoughts with us.

I say you are the worlds best grandma! I already love Beatrix Potter and now I am excited to learn everything about the wonderful Tasha Tudor. I am sewing a Laura Ashley inspired summer dress but had to put down my sewing to focus all my attention on you and the tea party. I was transfixed throughout and delighted especially with the little tea set and all the charming guests. You strike the perfect balance of teaching, inspiring and nurturing. Thank you Jeri, I will visit again soon.

Thanks for the nice comments. To tell you how old I am, I have the original Laura Ashley dress I wore in my mid twenties; her style became very popular in the 80's and I loved the look.

Jeri has so many beautiful items in her vids, she just MAKES ME CRY!!! I mean a lace edged cuff, with a roaming peacock and an antique pitcher pouring homemade tea, all on a gorgeous sunny back drop. You cannot get more beautiful than that. She makes my cry that the world can be, if we let it and make it, a very beautiful thing!

I know exactly what you mean it is so dreamy, I would love to have lived in this way, I still have a chance as I am moving soon. I won't be able to make all the foods myself but `I will have ago at learning watercolour and making time to bake more and I want to grow a beautiful garden to entice the birds in memory of my late parents who loved working in the garden and even more so watching all the wildlife venturing in after we had gone in! I had a tiny dolls tea set also and the Secret Garden was one of my favourites books and it was adapted for TV later on. What a wonderful journey this video has been!

This whole thing was like a warm cup of tea for the soul-- utterly comforting. ☕
The first time I heard of Tasha Tudor was walking through a store and seeing a magazine with a glorious 1840s dress on the front cover, & being so enthralled with it, that my mother bought the magazine for me. I spent the whole afternoon rifling through the pages, which featured photographs of Tasha Tudor's antique clothing collection...and I felt such a soul connection to her because she talked about how she felt at home in old clothing and she frequently wore 19th century dresses, which was my dream ever since I could remember. I then probably rented every Tasha Tudor book in existence at the library. I remember that her unabashed embrace of living the way she wanted was so impactful to me-- because I wanted to live the sort of life she had, but I was always told that was impossible or strange. Even though I never met her, there was something so beautifully comforting and emboldening finding such a kindred spirit.

I agree, even as a young girl I wished I could dress in pinafores and bonnets. Maybe that's the reason I clothe all my fiber animal creations in vintage style attire.

Thank you for featuring a marvelously talented woman today. I have been a true admirer of Tasha Tudor since I first read "Pumpkin Moonshine" when I was a child in the 1950's. I grew up all over the world, in every sort of culture, but what I always wanted was a New England life. It wasn't until the late 1980's that I finally was able to move to Vermont. While I could not approximate Ms. Tudor's life, she and I shared a number of passions - Vermont, country living, Pembroke Corgis, a love of the past, and gardening. I finally was able to meet her at a book signing in Manchester, Vt, and eventually this led to an invitation to her home. One of highlights of my life - she was exactly as I had always imagined her - the home and gardens were a feast for the soul. Sadly, I no longer live in Vermont (groan, Alabama) but not a day goes by that is not filled with fond memories. Nina Crow Plack

Thank you for your videos. We love the same things! I guess that we were born in the wrong era... Well, I made the blueberry muffins, only I used some black mulberries from my tree that I had frozen. They were delicious! It's a cold day in December here in the Central Valley, Ca, so I substituted tangerines off my trees since my summer peaches are long gone. These, along with a cup of french roast coffee and my Japanese cobalt blue willow and I felt that I was right along there with you. Denise

I so enjoyed the introduction to Tasha Tudor whom I never heard of before. She was quite the pioneer and a strong willed woman.
The blueberry muffins look delicious and your bouquet is so pretty with all those beautiful peacock feathers. Best of all is when you zoomed out and the peacock was perched on the fence right behind the bouquet. What a lovely sight.

That was nice of your friend...if that sink was mine I’d make it into a water feature....find a stand to put it on, and find an old hand water pump and plumb it to have a steady stream pouring into it and you can enjoy the sound from out back near a window so you can listen to it in the house, some pretty rocks set so the birds can enjoy a bath in it....put a piece of copper wire or some old pennies and it will kept the water cleaner and mosquitos away,.
It’d be pretty to have a old white enamel pot in it with a pretty plant or two...
    I love Tasha Tudors works...

I remember when I was a child growing up in Alabama, my grandmother was given a basket of peaches which she canned as preserves. She threw the seeds/peels out in the compost area and would you believe, a couple of those peach seeds grew into two productive fruit trees for years.

I was drawn to Tasha in the early 90s when I found her Advent and Christmas book in a library branch. I was utterly fascinated with her look and home. Adding to all that specialness was the fact that Tasha had signed the book. Then I realized I had seen her illustrations in The Secret Garden. I was absolutely hooked from then on. I borrowed that book for years thereafter.💖💐

My grand father, met her in Pa as his nephew ran a little gift store in Mill Hall. She came there several times, I heard, they talked some and signed her books for my children. Loved them. I just bought several to start them for my great grands. A is for Grandmothers Doll, was read so much, that 60 years later I still remember it. I always wish that we had gone to her home for one of the tea parties she had for children. Just a lovely remembrance! Jerry, you’re a lot like her. I’m so glad I found you back on UTube. I just found this episode and feel as if I have been transported to a more endearing time! I discovered Tasha about a decade ago, but never knew the quiet yet intensely strong woman she was. I imagine sitting down with people for a lunch like C.S. Lewis, Jane Austin, Beatrix Potter, then low and behold here is Miss Jeri having tea with Tasha Tudor! What a tribute to her while also learning little snippets of your own dear life! I admire folk who go against the modern grain and carve their own niche. A bowl of homegrown peaches, a sprinkling of blueberries on such a beautifully set table, who could want more??? I’ve heard men that live like this “Renaissance Men”. What do you title a woman??? Awesome, dynamic, strong, resilient, timeless, enchanting…and the list goes on and on! You bless my life Miss Jeri! Thank you, thank you! 🥰🫶🏻💐

I just instantly fell in love with your Kitchen and channel! I had the privilege of growing up in a historic home on a farm with my grandparents who passed away when I was 18, I stayed there until I was 22 but I could not keep the house up on my own and had to sell it, I miss it so much I hope I get the chance to live a simpler life again one day. Also thank you for supporting homeschooling, I have one daughter and have always homeschooled her. So many people don't support Homeschooling, it is nice to hear when they do so thank you!

Hi Amanda, I am 100% proud of home-schooling parents. I was a bit of a pioneer in that regard, Homeschooling my 2 boys through the early grades, until we moved here to TN. and the small school was just over the hill from home (where I could really keep tabs on the curriculum) My sons are now in their late 30's, so this was a while back.
I do hope that you will once again live the life you desire to live, keep up the good work with your daughter!

As a child we were taken to an outdoor museum called St Fagan' s in Wales, and I saw a small gatekeepers house and inside the stable door was an old Welsh Dresser full of blue & white Willow crockery! I promised myself I wanted one when I got older, and I am pleased to say I achieved what I set out to do! I am so proud of it!

Lovely old sink, I'd leave it exactly in the condition it is and place a water fountain in it with plants in and place it surrounded by plant life out in yard or inside the home.
As for Tasha, Jerri you did her proud! In that short time you did cover quite alot of info about her. I have loved Tasha since my early 20's, collected her info, books, DVD, bought items and peruse her site often. Everything I've ever prepared out of her cook-book has been very delicious. I know when her cook book was published she was livid because her receipts (as she called them) were altered and ingredients omitted/changed. On her site (many yrs ago) she included a sheet of the original receipts to add to them. So I most certainly added them into the cookbook. Tasha has carried me thru many a year with her books for encouragement, ideas, and brightened many days of renewed hope. I ave a connection to her as well, and strive to live my life style pretty close to hers, in clothing, cooking, creating art, and (I too) of freezing birds to draw and paint.
Your tea and table setting would bring a smile to Tasha's face, she'd feel at home at your table. How nice that you have invited your own beautiful critters join in. And how lovely that you have friends who actually knew her and have your creations amongst their Tasha collection. Honor indeed!! My bucket list was to meet Tasha but unfortunately it will just to be a tour of her home, gardens etc.
Thank you so much for creating a beautiful video with care of Tasha that has brought such a personal joy to my heart!

I changed her Tea recipe quite a bit, because the recipe called for a syrupy mixture with the juices and sugar, but I eliminated the sugar completely.
It would be lovely to visit her garden sometime, as it is open a few times a year. So, you too have a "mouse Morgue", LOL!

@@JeriLandersofHopalongHollow I would too, it doesnt need the sugar. I love her receipts and have changed a few ingredients myself, a few of her soups, and baked goods with less sugar, but keep all the garlic she calls for, that editors had eliminated. Yes mouse morgue but birds...lol

Beautifully done video. Your voice is always so calming for me. I'm newer to Tasha Tudor, but grew up on a farm (my Grandparents' dairy farm) with no running water, no indoor plumbing, coal stove for cooking, so I think that's why I totally love this time period. When it was winter, I was in the City in an apartment house built in 1895 with pocket doors, ceiling medallions and built in cabinetry. I have one of your books that I bought expressly because of the artwork, I have Tasha Tudor book you show, just ordered the cookbook....all because of the artwork. Surely, this is a video I will watch multiple times.

Hi, I'm a new subscriber. All the way from the UK.
I have to say that your videos, critter creations and tea parties with them and a book by ... Are delightful. All that I find in the two videos of yours that I've seen so far I can really be at home with. I love old styles, art work, photography, gardening, homemaking, baking and cooking, Beatrix Potter and now Tasha Tudor. What an inspiration she was. This is not the first time I have found myself wanting to have the health that it would take to run a small homestead with a Jersey cow, chickens and ducks, oh and now a peacock. I absolutely love floristry. I trust that one day hubby and I will have a home of our own and maybe even find we have the health to run a mini homestead. We are just starting out as photographers. He has many more years under his belt than I do but videos like this are so inspirational as I do like to draw.

We are better people because of strong women like Tasha Tudor. I had the privilege of meeting another strong beautiful woman named Helen several years ago. She would bring us the most wonderful lemon pound cake on a red transferware dinner plate. She insisted I keep the plates. I loved them so much I began collecting red transferware. She gifted us one Christmas with a Christmas Lennox bowl full of homemade cookies and candies. Unbeknownst to her I had that pattern of china and was able to add it to my growing collection. I believe she knew she was dying from cancer and was giving some of her things new homes to lighten the load for her family. Thank you for sharing some of the life of Tasha Tudor and congratulations on the peaches. Blessings.
