  • I have been using my self-made camera stand for one year now. It is a quite big stand, it has wheels and an articulating arm. I have been mostly satisfied with it, but there are some things that I want to improve.
I have recently bought a new camera: Panasonic LUMIX S5ii. This is quite a lot heavier than my old one (Canon EOS 200D / SL2). I need to fit springs on the articulating arm to hold my new heavy camera. It has actually been my plan to add springs from the start, but now I really need it.
It's time to build camera stand version 2.0. Without spoiling anything, I ended up rebuilding almost everything 😵

I can't begin to imagine how many hours this took to create. Such a shame that clearly Camera Stands do not have a large youtube audience. Great content through.

Hehe, I don't expect much views on my camera stand build series, this is quite a niche topic 😊 I have a lot of fun making it, both the video and the stand, and hopefully some few visitors can enjoy it as well 😁

Haha, i challenge you to do the pole dance 😂 I will be the first one to comment on it, but damn!!!! That new camera makes a huge difference in quality and feel of the scenes. Like the roll off between sharp and blurry background, really nice. The way you build up this video is yet again really good. Damn I’m impressed by the amount of work, but also how it feels like you have done everything in one day. I see great things in the future Reodor Felgen 😂👏🏻

Thanks a lot Mr. Hansen, but I do think my clone twin did the right thing. Me trying pole dance would not have been a pretty sight😅I am very glad to hear you noticed quality improvements from using my new camera. I am also very happy for you pushing me to step up the game and buy a better camera. I am still learning how to master it, hope to get a bit better for every video. 😊 Glad you noticed the "flow" as well, trying my best to make each clip continue as natural as possible from the previous. The whole project took about one month, and it was 14 days of recordings 😋

Wow, that pipe handover was flawless (repeated it a few times lol!), unless you really do have a twin brother.... :-)
    Have a great weekend!

Hehe, it's my imaginary twin brother 😅 I was somewhat lucky with the timing when I recorded it, and then some finessing in the edit. Have a nice weekend!

Thanks, I use it all the time. It works like a charm, and does not take up too much space when not in use 😊

The things we don't think about until someone shows us what can be done and achieved. I am in owe mate. This is truly amazing. For the camera head, I've been using one of THE best ones out there. The Leofoto G4 Geared Head. It is very niche and fairly expensive, but if you want precision, sturdiness and ease of use, this is just the one to have(there are other similar ones, some cheaper, but this one is truly great). Thanks Ki! Cheers, Ray.

The Leofoto heads are probably many steps up in quality and performance compared to the one I bought (Ulanzi U-190 = $50). When that is said: I am quite satisfied with it - especially for the low price. It is much better to operate compared to the ball heads I have been using. Having separate tilt and pan adjustments is so much better, and the fluid tilt is very smooth. The pan is OK, but I'm not sure it is "real fluid", looks like it just has a screw to lock it.
I did actually look at the G4 Pro. It was very tempting because it was lightweight and had 3 axis adjustments. As you say: it was a bit pricy 😬 I thought I would test out a more reasonable solution first. However, I can only tilt and pan now, and since my garage floor is not in level I am missing the possibility to adjust the camera "roll" axis 😌
