    American Express currently offers 34 different credit cards so needless to say deciding between them all can be a challenge. So today let's make the ultimate American Express credit card tier list to help you get the most out of your credit cards. American Express has 17 personal cards, 14 business cards, and three corporate cards at the time of recording this video.
    By far my favorite free credit card from American Express is the blue cash everyday card. This has no annual fee, currently offers a $200 sign-up bonus when you spend $2000 in the first six months, and gives you really great cash back like 3% on groceries 3% at US retail purchases 3% on gas and 1% on all other purchases. It also gives you additional credits towards things like Disney plus and home chef but the 3% cash back categories are capped at $6,000 in purchases each year and beyond that you earn just 1% and there is a foreign transaction fee so I'll be putting this one in the B tier.
    The next card with no annual fee is actually one of my favorite products from American Express across the board and that would be the standard Hilton Honors card. Now there's a few more premium versions of this card that we'll talk about later but even though this product has no annual fee, it offers an 80,000 Hilton honors point bonus when you spend $1000 in the first three months, seven points per dollar on Hilton hotels and resorts five points on US restaurants and US gas stations.
    Next up we have by far my favorite credit card in this $95 category and that would be the American Express blue cash preferred card. This is the bigger brother to the blue cash everyday card that we talked about earlier but for $95 per year it is well worth it. Right now they will waive the annual fee for the first year and give you a $300 cash bonus when you spend $3000 in the first six months. You also get 6% cash back on grocery stores, US streaming services, 3% on transit including ride-sharing platforms, 3% back on gas and 1% on all other purchases plus a $120.00 equinox plus credit.
    That was a lot of information to cover in one video but in a nutshell if you want to stay on the low end in terms of cost I’d go with the blue cash preferred, the gold card is a great mid tier option, and if you don’t care how much your card costs and you’re looking for the most premium option then I’d go with the platinum card.

      Figured someone would beat me to this response. Free night and top status, if you travel semi frequently and like Hilton this card is automatic. Diamond status isn't fabulous stateside (though breakfast is always nice) but can make for high frequency upgrades (suites included) overseas. Definitely A tier card.....S tier if frequent international traveler.

I just love being able to use it for everything food-related without having to think about it. If you can take advantage of the credits every month, this card is a no brainer! • @mattvoigtlander

    Nice recap, although we will have to agree to disagree on the Delta Amex Platinum. Few annual fee cards are so easy to come out way ahead of the AF than this one IMO. $250 for free checked bags and a BOGO flight valued anywhere from ~$350 to $750+ is very easy to do with a travel partner. I can see if you were single that the viewpoint would be different. I live in MSP so lots of Delta flights available for me helps too. But it’s a keeper card and one of my favorites. Nice video!

  • @luckism
    @luckism Год назад +5

    The Marriott Bonvoy brilliant credit is for $300 in dining now.
    A lot of the tier list does not take into account the intangibles such as hotel status, nor the free certs/companion certs that basically completely offset the annual fees (for hotel and Delta cards). In addition, those cards are rarely used for their multipliers.
    Solid tier list otherwise, though I would disagree with the BCP being so highly ranked due to Cashback cards from other companies offering similar rates with no annual fees

    My Platinum card arrived today! Was targeted with a 150K points offer - but was hesitant, because I had the business platinum and personal gold card about 20 years ago - but because I sucked at finances back then - they had both been shut down about a decade ago. Thankfully, from watching videos from yourself and others I’ve rebuilt my credit over the past couple of years, so I thought I’d try it out since they offered the preapproval thing like the Apple Card where you can see if you’re approved or not and accept/decline and crazy enough I was approved and it just arrived a few hours ago.

    The thing about the hilton cards that I keep seeing is as a diamond member you get another multiplier of hotel points spent, so you get another 100% points from hilton. On top of that, you can pay the double points rates if you want to get another 2x. I think the optimized return I've heard is something like 34x hilton points. You also get suite upgrades as diamond, not just "room" upgrades as gold, which is something I recently learned. If the platinum weren't points heavy on flights, I'd go that route, but I really never want to fly again lol

    I don’t know why people hate on the Amex Everyday Preferred card so much. I think it is a great card if you combine it with another Amex card like the Gold card. Think about it if you get the 30 transactions in a month you get 4.5 points per dollar on groceries, 3 points on gas, and 1.5 points for everything else. I just use the Amex Everyday on groceries for my first 30 grocery transactions then I switch to Amex gold. That way at lest for my first 30 transactions I am making 0.5 more points on groceries.

    Getting to the Amex Gold Card is my ultimate goal. What would you recommend to someone who is starting over with their credit on getting one? Started building it again about 10 months ago, I currently have 4 credit cards, 1 secured, 3 nonsecured and a car loan. I never carry over a balance on any of the cards, my car loan autopays out of my checking account and my reported card utilization is always 10% or lower. I'll admit I went overboard applying for cards the last few months as it was quite exciting getting approved. However I have 6 inquiries so I know I'll need to wait a while before applying for anything else. But I was thinking of eventually applying for the Amex Blue Cash Everyday card just to get my foot in the door with Amex before trying for the Gold Card since they most likely won't take a hard pull on my credit due to already having a card with them. Would this be a better idea than just going for the gold card first?

    • @realize8739
      @realize8739 Год назад +1

      yes, depending on your credit spending patterns & FICO -score, make sure your above a 700 to increase your approval rate. I recommend utilizing their pre-approval soft pull link if your planning to apply initially for an AMEX -Gold A/ S -Tier card in my opinion. Please notice if you receive an invitation when applying for the AMEX -Gold this increases your chance of approval as their is no preset spending limit with this card. Good luck!
