You really did not show how it works. Does the screen itself move in a grid array? Does mechanical screen movement account for objects leaping out from the screens boundaries where video is not simulating building structure and an illusionary screen boundary? Is the image projecting light or holographs? Force perspective cannot be just rendering 3D on a 2D screen. Are there any videos of these screens in action in off mode? Are there any videos of anyone filming as they walk around from all possible viewpoints so as to reveal force perspective? YOUR VIDEO DOES NOT EXPLAIN HOW 3D BILLBOARDS ACTUALLY WORK.
There are several things going on. But the biggest thing is "forced perspective." Your visual cortex is always attempting to make sense of the environment. But if there is overload or uncertainty in the environment, the mind will override external stimuli and just default to what it knows has been typical or common in past moments under similar conditions. IOW, your mind will lie to your consciousness. Better to do that than put you at risk going 'dark' while it buffers. This is the basis behind what makes visual illusions work. It's also what helps a magician pull-off up-close tricks. Notice the boards are built on a corner. But the display isn't physically occupying the same space that a typical exterior wall would. Instead the board is set back a bit...tucked into a space. Think of a building made of Legos but the brick on the corner has been removed. Upon viewing it down on the ground (at certain spots...some more ideal than others) it will cause you to believe the screen wraps around the two sides. That effect is pulled off via the graphics that are playing (visual effects). The corner that you're seeing while a program plays is a fiction produced by the graphics. Once the visual effects "force" you to believe you are viewing a wraparound display (i.e. a false perspective), then your illusion is further hacked...leading you to believe you're seeing stuff popping out from the side. To pull that off, they're also using hardware hacks...multiple displays, with some on actuators so they can move in/out thus providing depth/shallowness. With all the many variables at their disposal, the graphics designers can be quite creative building programs that rely on layered hacks of your mind.
The Videos where something pops out of the screen are probably fake. There is only one exception: The screen is bigger than you expect and tries to emulate the surrounding area.
What am wondering, is it that the design it's self being advertised, is designed with such a 3d depth if it's the case then normal billboards can as well archive this effect through creative design
In a few words it is a visual effect, here we explain it to you, First of all, we need to figure out one conception: is 3D billboard = 3D naked-eye holographic projection? The answer is no. We will explain the reasons further, just read this section until the end. Naked-eye 3D technology, in layman’s terms, is to allow the user to see a three-dimensional effect of a flat two-dimensional picture or video with the naked eye, and without the use of any external equipment. It is basically achieved by binocular parallax. So, what is binocular parallax? People have two eyes, and they are about 65mm apart. When we look at an object, the two eyes are converging on the object, and the image of the object will fall on the corresponding point of the retina of the two eyes. At this point, if the two images are overlapped, a single, clear object should be seen. To put it bluntly, it is like the focus of a camera, when the focus is put on the far side, the near items will become blurred, and when the focus is put on the near side, the far items will become blurred as well. And our eyes are like two lenses arranged horizontally on the same plane but in the different positions. Therefore, images obtained for two eyes will be different, too. When the two lenses focus on a point, the surrounding mirror image blurred, but the middle point is clear. While when the two focal lengths are scattered (such as when you are dazing), the different focus of two images captured by two eyes can not combine as a clear picture. And that is the working principles of binocular parallax, which creates a sense of depth and space when we looking at something.
How it actually works: its just a projected rendering calculated against a specific spot where people will stand, perhaps along with a split depth illusion
I don't understand how so many people can't understand how it works, simply explain the screen does not project a completely 3D image but it distorts the image depending on the design of the screen with high resolution and 100+FPS (Bend or fold 90 degrees). The fact that you see the characters in the screen move out of the screen is because the part you think is the wall or stage is actually a projection, with the Cola screen it is a moving screen with many combined screens with 3D, you can see small screens moving while watching videos at 0.25 speed. For example, a 3D ball, you think it is round but in reality it is oval. That's why if you see a 3D video with characters moving 2 meters or more beyond the screen, it's all fake. However, if such a screen is indeed certified to exist, it means it is a 3D screen that combines many small screens that move with the Hologram.
Software and Design Tools Transforming Concepts into Reality The realization of 3D digital billboards involves the use of advanced 3D modeling software like Autodesk Maya or Blender for content creation. Computer-generated imagery (CGI) enhances the development of intricate and dynamic visuals. Collaborative design platforms and project management software aid in team coordination. This process, driven by sophisticated software ensures the effective transition from conceptualization to execution of visually impactful displays.
