@@christopher9626 Yeah there was some dumb stuff in Prometheus but for the most part it has some really interesting ideas going on and was visually quite striking.

I don't know. I got some really bad vibes off this trailer. It felt a lot like Prometheus's trailer (all flash and jump scares with no substance) and that was the worst ALIEN movie I have ever seen.
Franchises have a tendency to go up and down. That in no way means you have to reserve judgement. If anything you should be happy that it seems like the series is coming back to its roots. Prey did the same. As well as Hellraiser.

We'll see if it has the capacity to at least shock the same way the original did. One element of the original that I never saw utilised in the later films was the sexual nature of H.R Giger's designs. To each his own, but for me, the Alien universe is about suspense and horror. Aliens took a great sci-fi monster and made it into a lame bug that could simply be shot or run over with a car.
If they ever make another AVP they need to include space marines and needs to be set in space and not in modern earth in a small town like the last one smfh.
given that the last Alien movie i saw as a first watch was the first one, these two films are visually so different. Its amazing how technology for film has changed.
Pacing looks all over the place, which might just be the trailer but I'm not holding my breath. The original movies were slow building to provide crucial plot details and suspense. That plus mature and well thought out characters, is all I really want out of an Alien movie. Nostromo's crew felt like an actual crew with their own lives and I miss that dedication to the ensemble. Save us the misguided attempts to connect with modern audiences and show us real people for a change!
