I have a few colors I use. Green Pumpkin with a brown trailer, Black & Chartreuse with either a GP or Black & Blue trailer, Brown with a GP trailer, Black & Brown with a brown or GP Trailer.
Randy i love your old school jigs. i have always made jigs my primary lure and only used uncle josh spring lizzard and zoom big salty as my trailers. there are way too many options now days and its a very simple choice
Would love it if you came out with a brown/purple jig. Just like your brown/orange, but purple strands where the orange ones are. Would buy a bunch of those. And happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Randy.
Strike king makes a watermelon/blue swirl baby bug rage tail. I pair that up with a 3/8 or 1/2oz black with blue flake jig, any style, or evo chatterbait, and it slays them. Year round. Any condition. It matches up with the blue gill around here perfectly. Their tail fins are a light blue color, and that blue swirl mimics it perfectly. They didn't have the plain watermelon one day, so i tried the blue swril, and i haven't stopped using this combination.
Hope you and your family have a good Thanksgiving, thanks for all the good tips you tell us, very educational.
