Couple of corrections/further updates I forgot - The tongue has not been further damaged by the eyelets (I was worried about that). The welt is a total BEAST! Still looks brand spanking new. Nothing is pulling away in terms of stitching, midsole, outsole, whatever. The inner thick veg tan leather footbed is finally starting to form and indent to my toes a bit, but there’s still more to go in that department. The laces are still some of my favorites. And I probably have 100 miles of walking in on these things now.

Those boots don't even look broke in. You can certainly tell they are not daily drivers. I'm coming up on 6 months with my amber harness and are pretty much 5 days a week. Noticeable difference. However, they still look close to new. They get brushed and wiped down daily and every so often a couple drops of conditioner on the toe and heel to blend scuffs. I have saddle soaped and conditioned the welts twice to remove concrete dust. The leather has developed a nice burnished type sheen.
Amber harness must just not draw a lot of attention. In 6 months, only a random person has commented. No doubt the copper has more pop and might pick up a pair in the future. Keep the updates coming.

Removed concrete dust on the welt? Are you working in these things? I really wish I could be wearing these things every day because I’d love to see how these things would truly hold up, but I just can’t with my job - I have other videos on boots I actually work in and destroy. I’ll do a follow up on these in the winter, and hopefully by then they’ll have some good wear into them. The copper rough and tough does seem to get a lot of comments - I don’t think I’ve ever worn a boot that gets as many comments as these. Good luck with yours! Make a video on them…the best videos are the ones where people actually wear them a lot.

I can only wear to them to work because I'm not normally on my feet all day. 5 hours standing on a concrete slab is my limit in the Iron Rangers. Today was that and then some and wore my Clarks Bushacre 3. They come with thick removable insoles and a thick firm, not rock hard outsole. A big difference. Tomorrow I'll be on my feet most of the day too and the Iron Rangers will be staying at home. Before getting into heritage boots over the last couple years, I was rockin chukka boots for about 10 years. Wish I could say my Iron Ranger are comfortable enough to stand on my feet all day, they just are not. I can't believe it's because they're not broke in. I've worn them 5 days a week for the past 6 months. I must say, the leather still looks great, but I also wipe them down, brush
and use shoe trees daily. I was surfing used Iron Rangers and a lot I saw had grain break/loose grain. I'm happy to report, mine are more rolls than anything.

Did you put any conditioners or oils on them?

Yes, I used Bicks 4 twice, and one of those times I saddle soaped them before the application because they were pretty dirty. I did a video on that…cleaning them, conditioning them. The rough and tough leather scuffs up easily, and yet can be brought back to normal just as easily. I love this leather.

which are they, 8085 or 8111?

8085 Copper Rough and Tough. These had a totally different feel to the amber harness ones…the right and tough are much stiffer in my opinion.
