  • HEX-9 Hard Ceramic Drill Bit
    10 x Longer Lifetime In Hard Tiles
    HEX-9 Hard Ceramic is specialised at drilling into the following materials:
    - Ceramic tiles with a hardness up to grade 5
    - Roof tiles
    - Non-tempered Glass
    - Natural stone tiles (max. 10mm thickness where percussion would not be efficient due to material’s absorption)
    The drill bit is ideal for sanitary installations such as drilling holes when installing accessories like towel or soap holders. It is also suitable for roofing, e.g. drilling into hard roof tiles.
    The HEX-9 Hard Ceramic Drill Bit offers an outstandingly long lifetime when drilling in hard tiles. Its tough carbide head is specially designed with multiple, extremely sharp cutting edges that distribute the workload, resulting in less wear, high endurance and a smooth drilling process thanks to its centring tip that prevents slipping. The bit does not require cooling and can be used with cordless drills and impact drivers.

    When you say hard, do you mean just hard ceramic or would it work on porcelain, marble or granite?

      @@npetar037 You're 'assuming' it's for Porcelain, Granite etc but it doesn't actually say that does it. It just uses the word Hard.

    Drilling in ITALGRANITI Nordic Stone 9mm tile made with quality 'porcellanato' this bit only lasted about 4 holes, after that it was very dull and it took 5 times as long to drill the next holes, also needed to put a lot more pressure resulting in higher risk of cracking the tile. Bit was cooled in water between drilling. Not satisfied with this quality.

    Using this drill bit in a China cup and it's nowhere near as thick as a tile and I'm hardly making a dent in it....any tips ??

    • @BoschProfessionalUK
      @BoschProfessionalUK  Год назад

      When using a HEX-9 Hard Ceramic Drill bit, a small amount of rotation is required to engage the cut. Pivoting around the point of contact on the cup with gentle rotations (like rotating a joystick around its pivot point), will engage the cutting quicker and allow the drill bit to work. You can reduce this rotation a little once you're into the material, but it's still worth maintaining some movement to keep the cut running smooth.

      @@BoschProfessionalUK thanks, I tried all that it just wasn't happening. I have now purchased a 5mm diamond drill bit instead. Thanks anyway.

    Is it also good for drilling in walls and concrete?

      We would recommend a multiconstruction bit for that! HEX-9 Hard Ceramic is designed purely for ceramic use.
