  • This video is about the BOSCH CYL-9 Multi construction pack of 4 drill bits.
In this video I will be putting these drill bits through there paces to see how they stand up against other standard drill bits.
These Bits are multi purpose bits and are suitable for drilling into:-
    Wood.
    Concrete.
    Brick.
    Ceramic.
    PVC.
    Steel.
After using the drill bits on a number of different surfaces the Bosch bit stood up to the task really well after drilling through Brick, Steel, Ceramic and Wood. The point of the tip stayed really sharp and worked really well on all tasks.
I Payed Just over £10 for this pack of 4. these drill bits are available in a larger multi pack and can also be brought as a single drill bit.
In my opinion if you had a full set of these drill bits they will be the only bits you will ever need.
This video was not a sponsored video.

I think given that masonry bits are so common and cheap and seeing how well it did, I would give it to the masonry bit.

The metal bit was destroyed in the first test trying to go through tile.

if you want to make a hole in stainless steel, use HSS or HSS-Co instead. I had this drill bit slightly damaged after a trial with a stainless steel; the rumours about tungsten carbide being brittle might be true after all. Remember, HSS-Co for stainless steel

Have you seen the Bosch EXPERT 7 Piece Multi-Construction CYL-9 Drill Bit Set, is that better or worse than the Bosch you are currently displaying?

Asad lion, I don’t think they are available for SDS, alto they are available with a standard shank or hex shank.

You must have something I don't! I am sorry to say that, after watching your review I shelled out for these, convinced that I would finally be able to hang my shelves on a concrete wall. It looks so easy in your video, and yet no matter how hard I push all I produce is a miniscule amount of dust and a massive amount of friction heat! I am not a huge guy, I weigh about 140 lbs and despite leaning with all of my force on the drill for a considerable amount of time, I cannot get further than 1 cm into concrete with these.

Deskleaves, hi thanks for your comment, does your drill have a hammer function? Is so you could try that, also what sort of concrete do you have, it could be reinforced concrete.

@@expedition320 You know, it might be, I looked back there, and I saw some shiny black material that was almost glassy; I think I'm trying to go through an aggregate or something?? I didn't put this wall up and it's covered with a layer of sheetrock, so I don't know what all is in it. The landlord doesn't know either. I'll check and see if there's a hammer function on this thing, and if not, I'll have to go out and buy a proper hammer drill and see if that will get 'er. Thanks for your reply!

Deskleaves, no problem 👍🏻 have you tried to move you brackets closer, or apart, this could help you miss the stone that’s in the way.
keep me posted, would be great to see how you get on with this project 👍🏻

@@expedition320 Thank you! With the hammer setting, I managed to get the full inch I was aiming for, but it took a lot of work! Did not move the brackets, as I was worried about making holes all over the wall, but this is something to keep in mind. Thank you so much for your advice!

Yes very good but it was not made in Germany, made in China. Have a look at the packaging. Bosch only in name.

The Bosch CYL-9 Multi Construction drill bits I have here are made in Germany - each bit has "Germany" stamped on it. In fact I chose them partly because of this. EDIT: Argh... Just saw that Bosch has indeed moved production of CYL-9 from Germany to China, and they are now under the new branding line "Bosch Expert" (formerly "ROBUST Line").
