Thank you 😊 I appreciate it! Yes for sure, I want to keep trying to film during the semester, if I’m not drowning 😄

You put your stethoscope in your ears backwards. Your auditory canals project anteriorly. Put it in your ears the other way. Also, remove the plastic piece on your smaller part, to create a proper “bell”. Not just a smaller diaphragm.

I realized that when I got here and started using it 🤦🏽‍♀️that was a real dummy moment..
What’s the difference in use between having a bell and a smaller diaphragm? I haven’t learned this yet. Also thank you for the tips!:)

@@finance2medicine haha you learn so much as you go throughout Med School. 4th year here. You’ll pretty much always use a diaphragm when auscultating the heart, lungs, etc. The Bell, which would be the smaller part with no plastic piece, is used for low-pitched sounds. This is really only used to pick up subtle murmurs in heart auscultation. When you auscultate the heart, use the diaphragm, like normal, but when you hear your first murmur, switch to the bell and it may be easier to hear. Feel free to PM me about any questions you have about medicine and especially about studying, resources, studying approaches, etc. Happy to help :)

Awesome! Thank you so much for explaining! We haven’t started heart sounds yet but I’m excited to get there and start hearing some of the differences/pathologies. I would love to hear how school is going for you and any advice you have:)

Can’t vouch for it since I haven’t used it yet, but I hope it’s good!
