- What do you call a story about an annoying customer you once dealt with? A Retail.
I hope the video/audio quality is better than before, I spent literal days trying to find the best settings and ways to edit the video etc. I actually quite like my job, but it's just SOME CUSTOMERS THAT JUST URGH. I might make another video about some weird/funny/annoying experiences with some customers. Hope you liked the video! Let me know if you have any stories about retail!

I actually use the “check the back” routine as a mini break/texting time 😂
half the time there is literally no "back" lol
I do it so I can get a random walk, go off the floor for a bit 😂😂 saves boredom
The magical "backroom". I work in a department store, people, do you realize how enormous our backrooms are?! The chance of me finding any item back there without knowing its location number is next to zero!

@@Inactive56778 there's literally so many things is boxes stacked on pallets together, so it's almost impossible to find one small thing. Customers also expect you to find it in 5 minutes, but in reality it might take 1/2 and hour to find it. Maybe if the box is really big, there might be a chance to find it. So, it's better to check in the system, if they want then check in the back. If it's not there, then write a raincheck and call back when you or someone taking out merchandise to the floor finds it.

because most artists want to survive on art but realistically can't do that until they make a name for themselves, so in the meantime they need money to survive and retail is an easy job to snag, especially if you don't have any other work experience/degrees.

Literally this happens all the time. Ive worked in 4 retail stores and people drive you insane. I work at a shoe store and this lady wanted a shoe in a different size which was on the top storage shelf all the way at the bottom of a large stack of other shoes. It took me at least 5 minutes getting it off the shelf for her and at the end she didnt even buy them. And then the worst is when you tell them something and they dont believe you and they have you call the manager and the manager says the same exact thing and they accept it just like that. I could go on.

I work in retail and I can SO relate. The one that annoys me the most is when people bring a basket full of stuff to the register and then leave half of it with me because they changed their mind or didn't have enough money to buy it. And half the stuff they leave is either cold or frozen.
Real talk the being ignored as a customer walks past after you cheerfully greeted them DESTROYS me inside. It's like "why do I waste my energy if you act like I DON'T EXIST"

As someone who's worked about a decade in customer service, I find this probably the most relatable animation of all time.
I don't even work at retail and people would be like "where can I find this and that" and i'd be like "oh I don't work here, but I think they keep it over there" and the person would be like "omg I'm so sorry!" I should have claimed salary for that day.

This is so very relatable. It makes it funnier when you get a manager involved and they do or say the same thing 😂😂 had that happen with a return. Okay so:
I worked at Big Lots a few years ago. One elder gentleman came in to return a tablecloth (because the wife changed her mind?). He didn't have a receipt, no rewards card, nor paid with card. I tried telling him we couldn't return it without a reciept.
"But I don't (like/want) it"
....need proof old man! Anyway, I tried "Return with no reciept" and he didn't like what he was getting back. The item was on sale, so because he had NO reciept, the register thought it was a returned mark off item. Finally, he said something along the lines of:
"Well then we just won't come back anymore"
Fine by me you old fart. So I replied with:
"Shall I call my manager? Maybe she can do something that I can't?" He accepted and the process repeated. The difference?
She was able to go into the system and override the price off to return the full priced item. Still feeling somewhat unsatisfied, the elder man said before he left:
"Alright, but we'll be hesitant to come back"
Fine. Whatever. You got your money. We have other people that'll gladly come in. Bye!
Another BL story. Don't really remember what lead up to it, but I remember a lady saying "I can take my money elsewhere" because we didn't bend the rules in her favor. Yeah okay 8!+(4. Do it then. Anyway, we found a way to appease her and she left, unphased, and left in her still miffed-ish state.
Lady: How do you expect me to carry all these?

I sympathize wholeheartedly. I've seen some of the worst kinds of trash customers when I working in retail ages ago. These losers think they can treat you like crap because they know you work in retail and see you as less than human. Some customers just live empty lives and this is how they take it out on others.

I relate so hard I used to work as a sales assistant in Smiggle, and outr shop was so tiny the sTOCK ROOM WASNT IN THE BACK, IT WAS IN A DIFFERENT SECTION OF THE SHOPPING CENTRE, "CHECKING THE BACK" INCLUDED A 3 MINUTE WALK EACH WAY

My favorite is when i had an old guy take money off his credit card by accident and told me that it was my fault and to put it back on🤣 even though he hit $20 back on the pinpad, it even asked him if the amount was ok, to which he hit yes🤣 i had to laugh when he left for how childish he acted when he started throwing a fit, even had to have a supervisor come over because he didnt believe that i couldnt put it back on the card😂
