You just tapped into an S-tier artist. As many others have and will say, she's best experienced live. She does have some cool music videos, though this one is nothing special. Probably the coolest part is that it's shot in one take, without any edits, though most people don't notice anyway. 🤷♂️
My fave female singer ever. No one feels the music they perform quite like Aurora, she’s a special talent yet cardi b etc… get all the attention make that make sense. Aurora is beautiful, cute, has an angelic voice writes her own music and is by far the best female live performer I’ve seen. And those expressive eyes just draw me in.
Just a heads up - her live stuff is better than her studio stuff (which is still great). Watching her be completely be in a different world and at the end of the song snapping out of it combined with imho better vocals live than studio.
The guitarist, Odd Martin is singing with her. Watch the Nobel Prize concert version to see O'Martin in the performance. Also, the moths are real and the lyrics are "killing me for mercy". 👍

Aurora read an article in the newspaper about a man who committed active euthanasia. His wife was suffering terribly from an illness.
This version is really good, but too bad you didn't respond to the live version. There you really get a feel for how special and talented she is
Damn this version is waaaay better. I don't understand why this is such unpopular opinion.
She made it all up. She said so in an interview.
It's a mercy killing. Not seed ,mercy.
A man kills his wife because she wanted to.
The entire song is sung from the woman's perspective. This also means the countdown. She counts down for him to make sure he even manages to do it.
She knows he knows he's doing it out of mercy. She can only know because she told him so.
Also interesting is the way the two sing and what they say.
Aurora who is the victim sings: "and here I go, go, go"
While her partner, the perpetrator sings: "go!"
That means, her ghost prepares him to be gone forever and he resigns himself to it and gives her the ok with his "go", so to speak.

You've definitely stumbled on a very special and unique Norwegian artist. There is no one else like Aurora. She is such a talented song writer/performer. But, like the Warning, she is best experienced Live. And yes, there is a man vocalizing. Check out the live version at the 2015 Nobel peace prize concert to see the male singing with her. And this song is more about a "Mercy killing" from my understanding, but Aurora likes it when you make your own interpretations. I suggest doing something live from Aurora. Try "Heathens" live VEVO or any of her live VEVO performances. She was so young in this video. She is now almost 28 years old, and a new Album is dropping next month I believe. Hopefully you will check out more from her. She has a very large catalog of great songs and she's very mesmerizing to watch live. (And killing for her seed is not part of the lyrics LOL)

Glad you are exploring Aurora. She is absolute magic live, and that is how she should be watched. Through the Eyes of a Child live at Niderasdomen (sp?), It happened Quiet live at the Current, All is Soft Inside live at KPRX are some of my favorites.

Always, always, always pick her live versions. Just for future reference. Aurora is one of the only ones whose live performances are actually better than the original videos.
One of her great early songs -- check out her live versions of this one (e.g. Nobel Prize Concert). Aurora performing live is up in the stratosphere. She has quite a repertoire -- she recently performed at Royal Albert Hall with a full orchestra (for the BBC docuseries Frozen Planet II, music by Hans Zimmer, narrated by David Attenborough). Then very recently worked with Brian Eno on a remix of one of her songs that credits the Earth as a co-author. Several albums out, with a new highly-anticipated one being released in June.

Her voice is incredible, her compositions are fantastic, and when she does covers she makes them her own. In the latter category check out her cover of the Imagine Dragons song "Believer". She is a very special, multi talented artist, her song writing is excellent, she is a fantastic storyteller with beautiful vocals. If you are interested in the production aspect of music, her Nidarosdomen live concert is the epitome of perfection, pipe organ, harp, orchestra, her band, male choir, it is just a beautiful concert. She also has many awesome live performances, perhaps you would like to start with her newest song, Some Type of Skin, live on Vemo just dropped today.

Nice reaction guys, with a few red herrings you threw in. Whilst this is a very good performance of this song, the LIVE performance at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert is absolutely outstanding, as close to perfection as it gets. Make sure that you both have a look at that, for your own sakes.
As of all of her song, you interpret it the way you want. But IMO she sing from the point of view of the lady who has been killed by her lover and totaly agree to it as she does count down, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and probably for a harsh sickness as it's for mercy. It always reminded me the Latimer story, a guy from Sasktshowan Canada who kiled his daughter who was suffering from a terrible dessease. The case made Canada and particuly in Quebec, question how much a medical intervention can go on and on without considering the souffering. Directly from this case Quebec adopted a law that we call medical help to die, and later on Canada also adopted the same law. If you want it's a kill for mercy. ( As to be done on certain condition with the conscent of the patient and 2 different doctors and worked so well,)
Aurora is always better live but her video are also meaningfull (except this one) If you want to be blown away: It happend quiet, live at the current. A cool video: Runing with wolf.
For me Aurora and Ren are the best human on the planet, so artistic and creative, singning from their heart for us to grow, to think, to be more concient. So good at storry telling.
You should review her MV of Runaway next. After that perhaps her duet with Pomme called Everything Matters. Truthfully, anything you pick is thumbs up, when it comes to her. Oh yeah, and Exist for Love and my favorite All is Soft Inside. I subbed.

Want to agree with everyone else- the Noble Peace concert performance of this song is extraordinary
yessss definitely need to do more aurora reactions in future. runaway is probably her most known song so you could do that one next or any of the nobel peace prize performance
Aurora was about 19 in this video and wrote the song when she was 18. One of her other big hits, "Runaway" ,was written when she was 11. Her film clips are awesome but Aurora in live performance is where it is at, she is absolutely mesmerising. I am not aware of another artist in the current musical landscape that can match her.

Aurora made up the story after hearing a similar story on the radio about someone who killed a loved one as a mercy killing. This reminds me of the story, here in Canada, of Robert Latimer from the early 90's. The other singer and guitarist is Odd Martin Skålnes, a fellow Norwegian who wrote and performed with Aurora in her early few years.
Aurora is a Gem! Best experienced live. She gets so lost in her performance's you sometimes see her have to physically shake herself back from where she went. Writer, producer dancer, her lyrics are always profound and open to interpretation. She calls her fan base "Warriors and weirdos". I've seen her live, quirky, funny, empathic and a sweet soul.
I absolutely love this song of Aurora's but my husband watched for a minute and couldn't watch any more. "It Happened Quiet" is another great song to check out of hers.

Love this song, beautifully tragic. Even moreso is the live version from the Nobel peace concert (nobel peace something anyway.) You don't need to film a reaction to it but definitely check it out. I think it's even more impactful than this one.

Aurora is absolutely entrancing live. I recommend any live version over any of her music videos.

"Killing me for mercy" is the line. Killing me for my seed? You guys crack me up. Anyways, this woman is one of the handful of true artists out there. Almost drowned out by the Taylor Swift'esque that dominate the airwaves now a days. But only almost drown out cos this young woman is making splashes all over the world. She started making music at the age of six. Started to write lyrics/poems at nine and she has written thousands of songs and she is now giving them to us slowly. Well, when I say slowly I mean, she already have four albums out and the fifth is due like two weeks from now, and shes 26 years old. And they are all different sounding. Style, tempo, lyrics. Oh and what lyrics this woman can write. You can read those from a book and its not boring. You boys have only scratched the surface of this Norwegian elf.

My favorite song is To Be Loved. Its actually under the artist Askjell featuring Aurora. She does all the singing but I think Askjell is the writer and producer. Not sure why its this way but it is such a beautiful song.
For more songs like this It Happened Quiet (studio or live at the current !) is a great one, also very dark.

She's not sick. He believes life will inevitably be so unpleasant that he wants to spare her from it. She acquiesces to his point of view.
Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1) live from the Nobel Peace Prize makes me weep. The song isn’t about putting an animal down; it’s called Murder Song for a reason-it’s supposedly is based upon a newspaper story she read about a man who killed his wife when they both discovered that she had an incurable disease.

As many have stated, pick the live versions: from the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert, the 2017 Nidarosdomen concert and all VEVO acoustic versions. But the one you certainly must not miss is the follow up to this song (in line of the horror), the acoustic "It Happened Quiet", live at The Current (which is a radiostation).

She is amazing artist. You get one part of the lyrics wrong,( this part with seed ;) ). The song is open for interpretation but for me it is mercy killing, but there are some other possibilities :). Not butterflies, Moths, she loves them. This is a song about a mercy killing, sung from the point of view of the deceased woman. Her lyrics are always powerful, often deep. Her songs always different and every time she sings she updates them. As she sings in the moment her live stuff is best.

you havn't discovered eivor yet. classically trained sopran with a masters degree in traditional nordic vocal techniques, she is home in so many genres. easily one of the best life perfomances of any artist i know is falling free live at the old theater in tórshavn.
