brother because he was younger so he was not able to stop him going to exile of 14 yrs. Then he asked lord vishu to be his older brother in next Avatar so he can stop him from doing anything stupid in future.

Demon simply means toxic people with extremely negative vibes who have Shadripus (six enemies of mind) which are: kama (desire), krodha (anger), lobha (greed), Mada (arrogance), moha (delusion), and matsarya (jealousy). People with these six enemies are considered as demons.

Kans hadn't performed any tapasya Or bhakti of God. He was just the king of demons and all these demons were just following the orders of their king.
If we talk about previous life of Kans, he was named jay and was a gatekeeper of Lord Vishnu. But he was cursed by some devotees of God because he offended them. The curse was that he would have to leave Lord Vishnu's abode Vaikunth and come to earth. The devotees offered him two options: 1) be born on earth 13 times as a Vishnu bhakt Or 2) be born on earth 3 times as enemy of Vishnu and get killed by Him.
Jay chose second option because he couldn't afford separation from God Vishnu for 13 births. In his first birth, he became hiranyakashap. In 2nd birth, he became ravan and in third birth kans. That's all.

To answer your question, once a demon gets powers by worshipping a god, their children also inherit powers by birth. Just like Meghnath, the son of Ravan got his powers. But he also worshipped his kul goddes for more powers and invincibility.

We are living in Kalyug. So naturally negativity is more. Also things are destined to be and they continue till their time is over which will be as per karma. Just like Kans and Ravan continued their evil deeds for long before justice was served, similarly this will also be over when the time comes. All this is the Leela of God. If there was no evil or hardship them who would believe in god. Kans could have been killed by the first child also but he was killed by a relatively grown child up Krishna who was the 8th son which means that Kans was to continue doing his deeds till his time was over.
