One of my ALL TIME favorite movies. Anyone who has EVER dealt with rap artists, record executives or concert tours knows how PERFECTLY they portrayed them.
It can't be said enough how on point the parody music in this movie was. This little 30-second clip says it all. I liked CB4 too but as far as really capturing the vibe of that time it's not even close.
It's still funny to me now, but it was especially funny in 1993 because it reminded people of rap's 80s roots, and we're all always embarrassed by our past - "did I really wear clothes like that?" "I can't believe I had that haircut!" "I used to listen to that song?" - it humbles us and therefore it's funny.
@cbaldwinjr I took my French spouse to see this in Manhattan when it came out and then took him to Coney Island. He was thrilled. This movie is brilliant on so many different levels. And Coney Island was okay, too!
You are one serious person if you think that was the only funny part. The whole movie is funny. Don't you care about T's welfare? "dude, How long you been on welfare?"

Dear God, will this song ever stop being in my head and being relentlessly funny?
After 20+ years, I'm guessing the answer is, no.

This was the perfect parody of all 80's hip-hop. Even to the point of starting the song off with a "Weeeelllll...."

The director himself co-wrote the majority of the music.
Fear of a Black Hat was way more 10 times better than that lame crappy CB4.

The rap of today is far more embarrassing.
I was conceived to this melodious love song.
Agreed that this movie is hilarious. Tasty Taste is my favorite character. He has the best quote on gun control ever.

So you're saying the humor is childish? I suppose, but as Mike Myers said, there's no low-brow or high-brow humor, if it makes you laugh it's funny.
