Yes! I'm a Bass vocalist, and use both of these scales every day to warm up. Very awesome to have the two octave exercise and because usually most warm-ups are pretty weak.
This was great. It's giving me the motivation to do them as well as go back and review your Major Scales video. As a suggestion, how about making a 4 Octave video set for both Major and Minor, maybe starting on the A string since you already have the 2 Octave videos covering the other three strings.
Scales in 1, 2, 3, or 4 octaves as ability dictates , and broken thirds, are the basics of developing technique, and should be practiced daily at all levels of expertise. Thanks for reminding us of this proven fact.
Its worth adding in the description that you are playing the melodic minor scale with different notes ascending and descending. Unfortunately my ear is not practiced enough to hear this but I noticed it when you moved your hand for A minor f# / g# on the D string (ascending). How about adding the note and the string user as sub titles. It makes it easier to follow and learn on the scales that are more obscure.
I assume you have figured out by now, but if not, A lot of minor scales are played different in the ascending form than in the descending form. The alterations change a bit. One for to find out which changes are different is to take a look to a book of scales (like Klengel or Galamian) Where they mark the alterations or lack of them. For instance Am plays F# and G# ascending and natural descending. Dm plays B and C# ascending but C a Bb descending. Gm is Bb E F# ascending and F Eb Bb descending, Cm is Eb Ascending and Eb Ab Bb descending. I find your suggestion about subtitles with the note and the string used very desirable. Ilya plays slow so is a bit easier to figure out but other instructive videos in YT play a lot faster.
I'd be interested in hearing which scales you think are more important, i.e. you are likely to need them. I assume this depends on the genre, bot does anyone really use a scale with 5 (6?) Sharps/flats

Im watching your fwd xtensions. You dont seem to move your forearm or shoulder forward but you seem to lift the finger extending forward higher. Yes?

I am a 77 year old cello beginner. Do you have "Practice with me" video for major scales so that I can play along with the scales?
Welcome! And thank you for the suggestion! If it helps, I definitely will create Play Along videos with scales!
Thank you so much. The scales that my teacher introduced first were (1 & 2 octaves) of C major, G major, D major, F major, and Bb major.
