What a genius! Hilarious, but also incredibly educated and impassioned, and down-to-earth and honest. Could listen to Aldis all day. One of the best guests you've had on this.
Chadwick set the bar unimaginably high & his adaption of the character will spread through generations. ALL I’M saying is if this man were to take up the Black Panther mantle one day I wouldn’t be disappointed at all. He’s got the superhero swagger and it definitely showed in his portrayal of Hawkman. Food for thought.
@@kevinnguyen290 Possibly in the future but I dont see the MCU retiring the character anytime soon. All these new projects and new threats coming I’m sure they wouldn’t spread the Avengers thinner than they already are. Plus Black Panther and just Wakandan culture in general bring a lot of diversity to the mix and thats what the MCU has been all about nowadays. Sadly they didnt get to tell as much as they were planning to with Chadwick but Aldis surely has the potential to carry it on if they ever decided to.
Honestly he would be better off in the MCU, at least his humour would be utilized there but it's also cool to see him play a serious character like hawkman
I've been following this man's career for so long! I'm so excited to see black Adam and am so happy for this dude! I hope to see more and more things with him in it 👏✌️
Humble, Handsome, Hilarious AND Intelligent!!! Love you Mr. Hodge!! Can't wait for your watch to be available for purchase. You are amazing. Keeping going Brotha!!!
I really love Aldis! Great personality, stylish, and passionate towards the things and people he loves. He killed it as Hawkman in Black Adam and is definitely one of my new favorite actors!
HUGE fan of Aldis since Leverage and this just makes me more of a fan. I’m intrigued to see his timepiece drop and get one hopefully. Easily my favorite guest!
Met him in an elevator in Los Angeles around Christmas like 5 years ago. Mentioned to him that his watch was real nice. Cool to see him bring up horology design in this video.
this is guy... i just love his personality. I been rolling with him since he was featured on half & half. we cannot forget about leverage "age of the geek baby"
This dude is a solid actor. His roles in Invisible Man and Black Adam make me wish he’d be the lead in some kind of superhero outing. With the right supporting cast, easy blockbuster actor
Personally this brotha is awesome in all aspects. It’s refreshing to see one of our own whom is very intelligent and well spoken. Not only that, switching up the narrative and showing an interest in something most of our culture don’t indulge in ( actually breaking down and knowing watches) . Very impressive king… keep doing ya thang champ!
Such a cool guy, a proper renaissance men. Cannot wait for this watch to come out. He had been working so long on it. Just hope it is affordable enough.
I love these because you learn things not only about the person of the piece but also what they are into. Aldis fascination and passion with watches is amazing. Had no idea, even about the books he carries. This was great. This man is also hilarious, lol.
i wasn't expecting to really like Hawkman in the Black Adam movie, but Aldis really elevated the character for me and he is probably the best thing about Black Adam
I don’t know what it is about this dude, but I love him. Never seen him in anything besides black Adam, but his vibe in these interviews is just some thing else. He seems like a really nice dude.❤️🔥
I love how he's passionate about horology, craftsmanship and smelling good. Like, as a man, I usually watch these GQ videos to know how successful young men operate. So I can get some inspiration and insight
Carol's daughter is actually the creator of the product lines, Lisa. Are used to go to her store in Brooklyn prior to her being picked up by a major distributor. She used to make stuff by hand. I miss her whipped Shea butter.
You know they brought the show back last year as Leverage: Redemption, right? Aldis was only in a few of the episodes because he was filming Black Adam and his other tv show with Kevin Bacon, but the Leverage team is back. No Nate, tho.
Man my childhood dream came true to see a live action Hawkman and Aldis nailed the role in Black Adam, incredible performance 👏👏 👏 he’s such a cool dude, really chill vibe about him, hope to see more of Hawkman in the DC universe, thanks for having him on GQ 🙌
I feel like he and Anthony Mackie would make good friends. Similar humor hehe. I've never really seen an interview of his before so I didn't realize his great personality and interest in intellectual ideas. Was already a great actor.
I am a fan since leverage, was so thrilled he got to play Hawkman. Adored Alex cross. Beside it’s so cool that he has such passion for something and also how down to earth he is. The backpack, mujipencil and well used notebook and laptop.
Trying to listen to the Aldis Hodge and Lakieth Stanfield podcast about nothing that doesn’t exist (yet). In all seriousness, the two of them would be great together on a broad of topics, just riffing. Aldis really don’t miss.
I'd love to see Aldis and Cristian do a movie together. They could be the next generation SIMILAR TO Lethal Weapon franchise but much like their characters on Leverage.
I love that he’s talking about something other than brands. He’s talking about what he’s passionate about. That’s why he’s one of my favorite actors!
What a genius! Hilarious, but also incredibly educated and impassioned, and down-to-earth and honest. Could listen to Aldis all day. One of the best guests you've had on this.
Facts I look forward to getting my hands on one of his watches one day
Aldis, is that you? 🤣🔥
He is very intellectual.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
It's really cool to see his passion about the stuff he creates, his goals and the people that he loves. A legend in the making!
I have something for you….
Please put him in more roles 🙏 he doesn't miss
I've been waiting for his breakthrough for a long time.
I love the series he is in with Kevin Bacon. Produced by Affleck and Damon. City on a Hill
You seen Black Adam?
I loved him in one night in Miami
@@jatilq good series
the charisma , confidence and humility on this guy, he’s amazing
and humor
I love how authentic he is. Like I really believe him using all of these things. He is also very funny but not forced at all! Love it
Black diamond explanation was beautiful. Wish this man all the best, can really feel his passion for watches, jewellery and ofc his acting profession.
He was fantastic as Hawkman, I seriously hope he gets more roles
Black Adam was worth the watch !
@@dannycortes73 totally agree! the critics got it wrong!
@@iHeartTuesdays it was a terrible cookie cutter superhero movie
I love this character in that movie

Yeah i think he’s make a great black panther but also i think they will respectfully fully retire the “character”

YES!!!!! I thought the same years ago...but I dont think ppl are gonna hear us though.

Always cool to see someone in the spotlight who’s truly into watches and this guy is on a whole other level. Rooting for his brand.
Can't wait to see one of his pieces finalized and working
One of the better GQ Essential interviews. I prefer this than rappers showing their bust-down watches and Goyard bags
Facts. As a jeweler myself I loved hearing his thoughts on the black diamond. He’s so well-spoken and interesting
When he played Alec Hardison on Leverage, he was just about playing himself. I’d like to see him in that role again.
Age of the geek, baby.
they have leverage redemption that is current filming season 2. he missed a good part of season 1 to film black adam
He will always be Hardison to me.
Is Leverage on any streaming services?
@@juststerk It's on Amazon Prime
Aldis Hodge has always outclassed most of his roles, for most of his career. It's nice to see the world catch up to him.
Loved this guy on Leverage. Such a good actor.
I like it when he switches to serious mode when he talks about his stuff
If he and Anthony Mackie shared a room the charisma would be insane
They are both winged superheroes.
The way he geeks about his things with hilarious grace
Him and his brother are having their moment. Been of fan of Aldis since Leverage, his brother a bit after
Loved him in Leverage and Underground. So happy to see him again in Black Adam

Mr. Hodge is a marvelous actor. Deserves oscars
This has got to be my favorite 10 essentials video. It felt real, authentic and down to earth. When he pulled out his sketch pad I was hooked.
This man needs and deserves bigger and better roles asap!!
It’s always good to see actors/actresses me multi-dimensional outside of their roles. Hawk man to me was the highlight of the black Adam movie also.
DEPLOYANT clasp my brother, not deployment. Great interview, your passion for what you love really shines through. Great to see.
