As a Hawaiian, the thought of being able to just plant my slippers excites me. Slippers go like hot cakes, so the ability to eliminate so much rubber waste is great for the aina!
It's a great idea, but $40 for a pair of flip-flops seems a touch steep. That's the problem with so much "good for you/the world" stuff is that it costs more than most people can or want to spend on every-day items.

When I recently moved to the mainland, I never knew what flip flops were so one day at school I was asking my pe teacher if I could bring my pair of slippers and she didn't know what they were, I literally had to google them for her since she didn't get it when I tried to describe it, I show her the picture and she goes "OHHHH, flip flops" it was embarrassing...
