Love that Jen and Aliona told us we don’t need to say “sorry we have to go!” In chat and then proceeded to apologize for having to go be with friends and take a break 😂 Don’t worry, we’ll be here whenever you’re ready :)
Watching you guys is so healing, seriously! I love the way you two speak on mental health openly and boundaries - The soft encompassing way in which you interact with your people is such a rarity among the internet & makes me feel blessed to have found you. Jen, Aliona, know that you guys have a place in my heart. ❤️
Being part of a community that is so open about neurodivergence is really wonderful and it has helped me gain a self-acceptance towards my own identity because of the lovely people on this corner of the internet
39:45 - FUN FACT: dual wielding/wielder (両刀使い or "Ryoutoutsukai") can also be a japanese term for bisexual AND you can specialize in wielding two swords as a bard too! dual wielding hand crossbows doesn't need specialization tho, so you can equip Ver with them with no problem. ...dang wonder why i scored 142 on the tism test...
I'm struggling to find the right thoughts on what happened around 1:06:30. On the one had it feels intrusive to watch or mention it, being such a personal moment? But also, like so much that happens on these streams, is a wonderful example of healthy ways to deal with feelings and situations like that, which is nice (and helpful) to see done in practice. I guess... thank you for being open with strange people on the Internet, and modelling (if incidentally) positive behaviours? But also enjoy your break! Enjoy passing stealth checks for a while (so you don't get perceived).
I’m glad you’re taking this break now, instead of waiting until it’s too late and running yourselves into the ground. Just like in BG3, it’s important to rest!
I really liked the discussion of how autism presents differently in afab people. I actually took the same online test during the stream, and I scored an 18, lower than Aliona, even though I’ve been diagnosed as autistic since I was 5. A lot of those questions did assume autistic people can’t be creative, so I scored a lot lower. My mom actually wrote her masters thesis on autism in girls and how it presents differently much before there was much discussion on it, which was motivated by my mother struggling to get me diagnosed. For example, unlike trains my interest was in movies and tv shows, and because that was seen as socially acceptable I was overlooked. It’s too bad my mom isn’t allowed to publish it, because at the time there wasn’t much info on the subject and I’d love to see her get credit. Have a nice break 😊 I believe I need a social break too so I’m going to spend the next few weeks on creative projects 🤍🤍
Oh you're so right! We haven't really fully got over autism being an upper class cis boy disorder unfortunately. I'd love to see your mom's thesis, sorry she wasn't allowed to publish it! I would also really recommend you reading Aspergirls by Rudy Simone if you're interested in that. Also, another thing to keep in mind is that these tests aren't enough by themselves to diagnose anyone, and even when you're taking it during diagnosis your reaction to the test is very important too. You're supposed to ask questions about the test to the person who is diagnosing you, and it is actually a very crucial part if I'm remembering right. And on top of these, things even get more complicated if you have other neurospicy conditions, since some symptoms can overlap or balance each other out. For me, for example, I thought it was my social anxiety that bumped my scores in such tests. It really didn't help because there was a time when I didn't like the idea of being autistic and couldn't accept it. So we still have a lot to learn about autism and neurospiciness, but your comment is so intriguing and informative! Thank you for sharing 💜💜💜
Honestly, our society is the same on many issues. I've found the same thing looking at research on childhood trauma survivors. I've heard stats that state that 40% of survivors exhibit no signs of having been affected, without even considering that someone may express their issues in completely socially desirable ways and therefore not be spotted as struggling. We seem intent on making categorical definitions of what something looks like and then completely ignoring or even denying people who don't obviously fit that stereotype.
I'm glad that you decided to take a break and take care of yourselves. Your streams are a highlight of my week, but above all - and I think everyone here would agree - we want to see you happy. We'll be here when you get back!
I'm not sure what I missed, and nor am I asking, but I stepped away to get breakfast and came back to what seemed to be Aliona comforting Jen and making sure she was ok while masking the mics. I just want to say that level of love and support is wonderful to see and absent from so many relationships sadly. You two are great together and I hope you always will be. It's wonderful to see love like yours.
Even though this was one of the streams I caught live, I put it on today just to have something in the background on my walk to work, and even though I’d already seen it, y’all’s kindness and chaotic positivity still brightened my day! Thank you for the good vibes!
I hope the following doesn't come across as too weird or inappropriate, because i somehow always write in a manner that is somewhat stiltet, perhaps it's something to do with my suspiciously high scores in certain online tests ;) While I'm not sure whther I'm part of the target audience or part of the community, nor able to express myself as nicelely or heartely as others have,I still wanted to express my sincerest gratitude, you both haven't just been greatly antertaining over these last few months, so many thing's you've said and done have been very heartwarming in a way very few other people I've seen have been, your kindness , understanding or treatment of each other and others, as well as many other things have resonated with me in some way I can't put my finger on, and are representative of one of the few things I would dare call truely good. I really have been looking forward to your streams, and while I'm not sure in what way, you've definitely helped me in a time that hasn't really been the most pleasant for me, as well as more than that. So, with my most hearfelt thanks, enjoy your break. In case you saw them, I hope you've not minded my rare attempts to be useful or funny in the chat or comments, my tone in writing may seem harsher by comparison than it's meant to be, since i feel outclassed in terms of character i'm somewhat paranoid of saying something wrong, or seeming wrong for that matter.
Glad you guys are taking a break, even though your streams are the most enjoyable thing ever. I hope you have fun and are able to get back some balance in your personal lives. It's such an important thing, and I love that you guys prioritize your mental health and boundaries like you do. Looking forward to when you're rested and feel ready to come back on stream to be giant goofballs (aka super cool people) some more! Also Aliona that question about would you rather go to a party or a library totally threw me too when I was getting my autism assessment. At first I figured it was about extroversion vs introversion, but after I did a very autistic thing and asked like a dozen clarifying questions, I realized it was a poorly worded way of trying to figure out if I have sensory issues. The assumption being a party will be loud with people talking, music, bright lights etc, and a library will be more quiet and calm. Really all the questions are pretty horribly worded, and even the neuropsychologist admitted they need to be updated, preferably with more input from autistic people
@@LenaMayson They really are horrible! It's like, you're going to make the screening and diagnostic questions for a group of people who tend towards literal interpretations so vague? And you're not going to expect we need room for nuance and context? Really? I was lucky the neuropsych person doing my assessment was patient and new the questions were problematic. I think it's a big reason so many people have slipped through the cracks. It's all just confusing and often makes no sense
Dear Ms English and Ms Baranova, I am writing in regard to why I was not able to attend the streaming session on 27/3/2024. As I had school the next day and I have to wake up early, I was, regretfully, not able to attend the stream. I hope my absence is noted. But I did miss the stream yesterday)
It’s been fun getting caught up last couple months. Enjoy the break! I’ve gamed for almost 45 years and still take the odd break - and I don’t have the added pressure of being well known.
Aliona thanks so much for the small shout out! I wasn’t expecting it and it made me squeak. I hope you both got my letter (sent 3 weeks ago)not that’s fine I’m too nervous for you to read it lol but you two enjoy your well deserved break! Take time on that self care and finally finish unpacking! And enjoy yourselves at Insomnia this weekend, you girls will knock it out of the park! See ya when you get back! 💜💜
Have a good break and take your time!!! Mental health is important! Another great stream Jen and Aliona. Aliona I’m sure that you’ll do wonderful at Insomnia. Congrats you both on the twitch partner status. I’ll look forward to the next stream ❤
“I was not a cool teenager.” - Jen The actors you see today are the theater nerds of yesteryear. There’s a very large probability that their youth was spent awkwardly navigating the world among a very small collection of people who understood the things they’re passionate about. So any chance you get, just approach them like a regular person, without an agenda but with appreciation of what they do and what they continue to go through for their art.
Loved the discussion on the testing of autistic traits, having recently (within the past 4-6 months [time is hard]) myself it's awesome to hear others tell their stories. Also wanted to point out that I learned after taking an assessment myself that many of them are geared toward children and depending on the answers to the question, if they're in a "Yes" "Sometimes" "No" format that if the answer is "sometimes" (because you had to think about it) the answer should be attributed as a "yes". And of course now that I'm typing this out I can't think a specific example to give ^_^' Anyway, I digressed way more than I wanted and really just wanted to express how much I'm enjoying you're playthrough and your videos here. Thank you for sharing a small part of yourselves and your lives with us through them.
17:46 With most neurodivergent conditions (ADHD, ASD, SpLD etc), the diagnostic criteria is very traditionally male-centric, that and because of the internalisation and masking of symptoms since we are very young, people who are female at birth are less likely to be diagnosed with these conditions because a lot of the time we don't fulfill the criteria demonstrated in the diagnostic scale of said conditions. As for mood disorders (depression, anxiety), the diagnostic criteria is the other way around... So what I'm trying to say is that there's still a huge gap (in research and in clinical practice) to be filled so that people can be properly diagnosed. (sorry for info dumping... It's one of my hyperfixations)
I had to send this to my gf. Not for the gameplay, but to see how you handled Jen being overwhelmed. Maybe I'm 34 and a psychologist. I'm still a late diagnosed adhd trainwreck, and seeing how you two manage to take care of each other is just extremely inspiring. Neuro-queer love from Denmark♡
After playing through BG3 and now watching your vids, I find it strange how familiar Jen's voice is to me now. A Shart BTS short popped up while I was doomscrolling youtube, and I instantly recognized Jen's voice without even looking at the screen! Anyways, I find Jen and Aliona's vids to be comforting with all the small talk. Keep it up!
Just FYI, you can actually save those gnomes that Nere kills by starting combat with him before the cut-scene ends. That said, when I did it, the game bugged out a bit and still treated them as being dead....
When my father's pastor starting spouting anti-LGB rhetoric 25 years ago, he dragged my sister and I out of service and explained about how everything the pastor said was untrue. We never went back. It's a core memory, and in retrospect it's the proudest moment I've had with him.
Очень странное чувство, но мы с вами прошли такой длинный путь вместе, Дженевель. Ваше присутствие и глубина характера, невероятно усилило эффект погружения. "Обнимите меня ещё раз и я вас не отпущу"
Have a good break! ❤ As always it's a pleasure to watch you or be live on stream with you. Take care of yourselves! I hope my letter will make it to you, though i bet it could take a while. I had to leave the stream to have dinner with my wife and her mother but I'm happy to savour some leftover gaming video material for the upcoming days. You don't know how nice it feels to be able to just watch you guys game and talk. Lots of love from Germany! ❤ Also, i might be a little drunk. Sorry.
Just a point on the autism tests I'm not sure if anyone mentioned, but I've heard that when those tests are used in a clinical environment a lot of the purpose is less to do with what exactly you answer to the questions like "would you rather be in a library or at a party?" but how you answer them. For example, as Aliona started going on a rant about how restrictive that is and what kind of library is it and what if thats not my interest and what kind of party is it, that asking for very specific clarification and debating the question would probably be considered more of an autistic response. Same for the reading facial expressions, if a professional asked me just "can I read them?" the answer would be yes, *but* it doesn't take into account the hours I spent as a kid staring into mirrors trying to mimic expressions and get them 'right' and studying people as a child to figure them out to mask efficiently. Definitely agree on the empathy thing too, of course no two autistic people are the same and there *are* low empathy autistic people, but there are also hyper empathetic autistic people like me who struggle with it to the point of becoming attached to objects almost to the same degree as people because of object personification, and it's sad to see that one prevailing stereotype still having a chokehold over what people think autism should look like. Sorry for the long post I can't exist without excess words and I'm not a medical professional at all so please take anything I've said with a grain of salt!
*me peacefully painting my Warhammer miniature watching the VOD* "We should do something really random like a tire company" Yep, guess I'll just claim that that's an intentional blood splatter I painted there, totally on purpose.
You read my letter❤😊 I may not be able to write anymore before you close the PO box, but when you come back to the US I will make it my mission to come see you! Have a lovely long rest, we will be here happily when you come back❤
By the way, Ver already had a second hand crossbow. It just wasn't equipped. But Jen sent it to camp. I was screaming at my screen in the hopes that someone in chat would tell you, especially as Jen was lingering a long time in the menu to send it away. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN PEOPLE ARE AWAY FROM YOUR STREAM!!! I was even there at the beginning but felt too tired and opted to go to sleep instead. This immense tragedy could have been prevented with a little more diligence!
Thank you so much for such a gorgeous stream! Don’t suppose a package from Australia has arrived yet? Defs no pressure opening, it’s just stuck in local post office on my tracker for a week and I’m just wondering if it made it to you or if I have to DM Abdul (we love Abdul). Hap birth to your friend and enjoy the well needed recharge time. Much love to you both! ❤❤
A lot of the diagnostic material for ADHD and Autism has been developed with a focus on young male / amab people. It's only relatively recently that women, especially adult women, are being better researched for their traits and presentations.
Enjoy your long rest! Even good things need to be held in moderation, and I'm glad you're both taking the time you need. We'll still be here when you're ready! P.S. It's odd, I almost literally never EVER read video descriptions... except for this time, haha. So I guess my answer to your question is no but also a teeny tiny bit yes?? **shrug**
Mole rat = Fallout Game series for me and probably many others. Have a nice break, it is good to not be tied to doing something for a bit no matter how much you might enjoy it. After you kill Nere you can go to chapter 2 [There are many other bits in C1 if you prefer to do them first, i.e. Githyanki creche] so good progress, I find C2 a bit more linear so you will probably go though that faster. I expect Epic length Housekeeping on your return :)
Out of interest I did that test and scored quite highly. However I don’t think I’m autistic, just incredibly socially anxious and really hate most social situations 😂
i thought everybody scored around the 100s on the RAADS test bc i scored 142 (just checked after saying another number in chat) but like no... it's not a common thing to score above 100, i'm just very much autistic (AuDHD gang rise up!)
I had to back up at about 6:00 because I was like “Did someone just call them the c word??? What happened‽” No, Connor, not that c word! (It was the name of a particular creepy-crawly that apparently Aliona doesn’t like so I won’t repeat its name here.)
The difficulty with written tests as opposed to personal interviews is the written test fails to evaluate the reason behind some questions. For instance, “do you have a hard time reading emotion” is written as a straightforward question and you can answer “No”. But when it is asked by a professional they can ask if you have always been good at that, or if you have spent a great deal of time and effort to learn. This is very evident with some ADHD evaluations, where being asked if you are organized can be misleading. If you answer yes is it because you naturally have a penchant for organization, or because you go out of your way to organize because you have learned that if you don’t, NOTHING gets done. All that I am saying is if you think it is worth exploring this further, I would recommend speaking with a professional who can evaluate you in an interview context, as opposed to one who ONLY uses the written questionnaires without any followup. As always, love and support for you both. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜❤️🧡💛💚💙💜❤️🧡💛💚💙💜❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
For context, this comes from someone who is diagnosed with both ADHD and Aspergers(ASD), whose spouse was only diagnosed with ADHD because the second person they talked to followed up on their questionnaire answers and probed deeper.
Have a nice break! I think everyone watching you guys understands that mental health always needs to come first. Suspiciously Dev isn't streaming for a couple of weeks either. Think she mentioned something about a chalet in the Alps with a couple of hot babes and a bathtub full of ranch, but idk.

Sooooo.. I did the test and scored 40. Explains a lot I suppose? Thanks for the lovely stream as always! Much love from Finland! ~
Очень странное чувство, но мы с вами прошли такой длинный путь вместе, Дженевель.
Ваше присутствие и глубина характера, невероятно усилило эффект погружения.
"Обнимите меня ещё раз и я вас не отпущу"
Have a good break! ❤
As always it's a pleasure to watch you or be live on stream with you.
Also, i might be a little drunk. Sorry.
Gosh I should just go to sleep instead of simping
We read the descriptions!
Yes we do read the descriptions :p
*me peacefully painting my Warhammer miniature watching the VOD*
"We should do something really random like a tire company"
Yep, guess I'll just claim that that's an intentional blood splatter I painted there, totally on purpose.
You read my letter❤😊 I may not be able to write anymore before you close the PO box, but when you come back to the US I will make it my mission to come see you! Have a lovely long rest, we will be here happily when you come back❤
I'm surprised they don't have Shovel yet. He's basically Bing Bong without the wings.
I don’t remember them doing Illy’s lab. I think they did the spider, though.
e: looking back, I don’t think they did the spider, either.
@@BouillaBased Chats been telling them where to go, so I figured that would be one of the first places they'd send them.
I did the Austim Spectrum Quotient and I also got 28, but for comparison my partner who is diagnosed took it and got 45
Yay! New stream!
The video title killed me 😂
Enjoy your long rest!
Please dont change the title its so funny
Enjoy your break! Y'all work hard, and everyone deserves to take breaks. Wish I could go to Insomnia. Where could inquisitive viewers tune in?
Live update I am watching this on youtube. I just thought you needed to know. J/king. Thanks for the stream.
That autism test seems to be more about autism stereotypes than anything else tbh
I was just wondering if you two have played your High rollers game yet and if so is there somewhere we can watch it?
Out of interest I did that test and scored quite highly. However I don’t think I’m autistic, just incredibly socially anxious and really hate most social situations 😂
do jen and gavin drea look like twins in some photos
Weren't they already out?
hahahaha
Lovely couple ❤
i thought everybody scored around the 100s on the RAADS test bc i scored 142 (just checked after saying another number in chat) but like no... it's not a common thing to score above 100, i'm just very much autistic (AuDHD gang rise up!)
Ah shit, I just got 170....well I've got a screening in a few months, so we'll see.
I had to back up at about 6:00 because I was like “Did someone just call them the c word??? What happened‽”
No, Connor, not that c word! (It was the name of a particular creepy-crawly that apparently Aliona doesn’t like so I won’t repeat its name here.)
Coming soon from Jen and Aliona: "Let us tell you about Raid: Shadow Legends."
I've never read a description once in my life. What even is a description? Sounds made up.
go gnome or go home
As an autistic viewer, I propose we replace the words “autistic” and “tismy” with the word “tismatic”
