- In the second Bento-cho stage, you need to make your way to a central spot to nab quite a few tags. Careful in the residential area though. They are bringing in the big guns.
Stage: Graffiti High
Time: 500 (8 minutes, 20 seconds)
Score: 40,000 points for Jet
Tags: 20 - 15 Small, 3 Large, 2 Extra Large (+1 Green)
Police Triggers: 3 tags for Parachute Squad, 11 for Tanks
No seriously, Onishima calls in military tanks to try to stop you. It goes without saying that these things are extremely dangerous as their tank shell shots deal the highest damage in the game. If you get hit , some characters will loose half of their life bar!
Once you hit eleven red tags, you have to be very cautious since those tank shells can be killer. They are driven by Parachute Squad members who will use gunfire at close range.
The stage is cleared by Mew, the new recruit who was bested in her own challenges by Beat previously. She is very similar to Beat with better tricks in exchange for less power. That getup she has is pretty out there, however.
Tokyo-to police logic:
*Kid is spraying some graffiti on walls*
"SEND IN THE TANKS!!! I DON'T CARE WHAT HAPPENS!!!"
😭
Jet Grind Radio. The epitome of the Dreamcast in all its quirky glory.
This game gets a little disturbing when you realise how dystopian Tokyo-to really is. If its government considers armoured vehicles and martial law to be a 'rational' response against vandals, imagine what measures it'd approve in the event of a mass riot!
+Hau Tak Leighton Tam old comment but o well, yeah it's a little fucked up
That's like one of my few complaints about the game: the context is never quite elaborated on enough. It is in JSRF and the world eventually reflects it really well, but half the time things seem pretty normal in the first game. *Freedom of expression is outlawed*, making the vandalism prospect more meaningful than it would otherwise be. The vocoded bit in Funky Radio, I've been told, is saying "we want freedom, what about freedom?"
It's really subtle but it's there and helps explain all the tanks and helicopters.
Honestly, I'd like to see a crossover between this game and Mirror's Edge.
@@WolfSilver117 that's not an old comment
*Goes 5 years to the future*
That's an old comment
Never thought about that but you're so right, considering what they did to us at Pearl Harbor, Japan having an army would be pretty scary
This is probably what happened before the police calls:
Officer: Can't we just arrest them?
Onishima: That 's crazy! Let's use tanks to catch 'em!
Props for playing as the best character in the game.
This doesn't look like Cube 🤔
That's a weird way to spell Slate.
You guys are having real trouble remembering the name of Noise Tank...
@@jedisalsohereI thought you typed Squidward but nvm! (jk I'm joking)
You make this game look easy. lol
Complete with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage in crushed/exploded cars.
Teh. Onishima was not kidding when he said "I don't care what happens!"
i fucking hate this stage because i couldnt figure out how to get out of the subway for 4 days and i thought both ways were exits
Because tanks are clearly the best thing to sic on in-line skaters in a residential area.
The front tentacle on the octopus has no hitbox, so you can jump in from the front and not take a hit.
Now That Mew Has Join The Crew The GG's Head Back To Benten-Cho on Getting Revenge By The Noise Tanks For Putting a Bunch of Frogs in Their Hangout However The Police Force Aren't Gonna Let it Slide When Onishima Send Out The Big Bad Guns
Mew in benten-cho fits so well.
Playing this game for the first time and trying to figure this level out
Really? I've got to try this. Still, it's weird how it would hurt you in the first place. I mean... why? I think it's the only inanimate object in the game that causes damage via contact
how to make a jump to turn around in flight and go backwards?
It's a Japanese game philosophy thing. Japanese games should be more like Japanese women:
Ah, you already know where I'm going with this. I should have set it up with a bit more subtlety. What point is there in delivering the punchline anymore!
Here it is anyway: "Gorgeous, quirky, and full of dangerous tentacles."
Tanks to catch inline skaters.. I really wonder about these police, but meh.
to be fair, the advice on getting rid of bugs is..... also plausible, if not gratuitous overkill.

Don't you think that tanks and helicopter are little much just for teens spray painting walls and buildings
2:43 Wtf made u take damage? All you did was just bump into a pole. Bollocks!
Why was there frogs everywhere
Its because the mission in Benten-cho was done first instead of the Kogane-cho mission. Doing this causes Poison Jam to release a load of frogs into the garage. If you did the Kogane-cho mission first instead then the Noise Tanks kidnap the dog.
NICE JAPAN GRAPH
