I always thought the purpose of the knockdown was to stitch on top of it to keep the design on top. Not to have knockdown around a design. This was a first for me

Lyn, that is what we all think. But you can use them for anything in my opinion and in any form really. If you take a fill stitch and shrink it and change it if you like the way it looks, it can be used any way you like. The idea is getting people to see that in our sewing rooms, there are no rules like in everything else we do.

Fantastic idea - I have a Destiny so my fills are a little limited

Hi there! I owned a Destiny as well. It’s a fantastic machine! You can easily use the fills you have regardless as to how many you have. It’s a lot of fun to play around and try different fills to see which you like the look of best and what looks best on various projects. Let me know what you try and how it goes!

If you are creating the knockdown stitch on a terrycloth towel are you using a washday stabilizer on the top?

When I open w/the embroidery, the "4 squares" are not shown on my screen. Any reason for that and do I need that to do the knockdown stitches?

Hello, Donna! Can you give me a little bit of info? What machine do you have and what 4 in squares are you looking for? Are you trying to create a knockdown with your fills in IQ?

@@melindabigleysewblessed I have a Solaris. The squares I am referring to are those which first come up on your screen, but not on mine. They are a kind of outline, I guess. I'm new to the Solaris and want to do things correctly, so do I need this first outline? I understand the fills, I think.

@@donnak5019 This is a grid listed underneath your hoop selection. Go to the menu at the top of screen, go to the screen that has the hoop sizes and look right unerneath. You have a choice of sizes of grids to use.
