I remember watching ARRIVAL and just being floored by how beautiful it looked, A Most Violent Year, Selma, SOLO, are all some of the best looking movies in recent memory by a long shot. Can’t wait to see what he does next.

This man is a genius. An inspiration. I love the look book idea and I'm going to do that.
For starters, look up images and get as close as possible to recreating them. I think that's my starting point.

Cooke optics is a talented dealer. Just a taste every time and nothing more. Love watching these.

But Solo was so dark and muddy you couldn’t see anything

Because you didn't watch it in Dolby Vision that's how it was mastered and it's tone mapping range (peak highlights) excel in Dolby Vision.
His lighting is subtle no doubt, but the difference between HDR10 and Dolby Vision for Solo is HUGE. Sadly Disney didn't release the home version in Dobly Vision. Could only be seen in a Dolby Vision theater.
