We used to have a camp down near a river and the access road regularly used to flood after a substantial rain. We used to laugh our butts off when people would come flying down that road, flood their engine and then come to a stop in relatively deep water. We would sit on the porch and bet each other how long they would sit there like boobs before they got out of their cars and got their feet and shoes wet. This was back in the days before cellphones to call for help. We actually had one lady lower her window and motion for us to come help her. Then my Dad yelled back to her that he didn’t want to get His shoes wet. We used to get an even bigger laugh when some of them finally made their way over to our cabin. My Father had a great sense of humor. He would tell people that we deliberately installed that Foot Bath and he then told them the Charge was $1.00 each way so they owed us $2.00. Most people didn’t laugh but many got the joke and it made the bad day a bit more tolerable.

Why are American so “screw you, I’ve got mine” in regards to everything but specifically in this case “I’m in my car safe and dry and an extra few seconds of my day to slow down is more important than not soaking this person.” I could not live in a country where people are so commonly that far out selfish or so easy take such pleasure in kicking those they view as below them . How sad.
It’s only in certain areas that people have that kind of time pressure they think they have. Remember, America is a very large country, and like-minded people tend to end up clustering in some areas. I’m not saying everyone in the Northeast is in a rush constantly, but the closer you get to New York City, the more of a rush people are in (to avoid traffic, ironically). Around here, in the Midwest, I had a car stop to let me turn left today, in a 4-lane road, with a center turn lane, with nobody behind them. Another car pulled up trying to turn right off the road I was turning left onto. The car waiting for me waved them on as well, while I was waving him on, so the last car there was the first to realize that we were having a “no, you go first” moment, and went. Then I waved more to the other guy, since he had a car approaching behind him, so he went, and I was the first guy there, but the last to go. This intersection has no stop signs or lights, and we all had enough time to be considerate. The point is, America has all types of people, good, bad, stressed, crazy, you name it. However, it’s a big enough country that it contains all of us, separated in our little bubbles, with crazy awesome people like post 10, who dare to be a good person in places with bad/stressed people. It’s not “so common” in most areas. The people in this video splashing him hard? They’re not “most areas.” They’re assholes, or people who couldn’t slow down in time, because they don’t think before they drive. Don’t drink and drive, just think and drive. Like, “maybe there’s a flood in this commonly flooded area, I should go around it, or at least slow down.” Long story short (I know, too late), it sickens most of us as well, and if I was ever in a car with a person like those that splashed him, I would never be in their car again, or call them, after chewing them out for a half hour.
what? America doesn't have exclusivity on inconsiderate selfish people. every country has their fair share of such people. don't make this into an American issue. you should be ashamed of yourself for making such a bigot stereotype hate statement.
@@elektrotehnik94 I understand. I don’t get the attitudes of people 1000 km away from me, either, but that’s still in this country. And to lordjaashin’s point, yes, every country has their fair share, and based on percentage, that might be the same. But 1% of Americans is a vast number of people, compared to 1% of The people from the Netherlands, or the UK. People who aren’t from here see thousands of asshats, and assume that’s a higher percentage than what actually exists, asshat wise. If I saw 20 people in one post 10 vid splashing him, I know that’s in a city that probably has a population of 100-200k. That’s a third of the population of Helsinki, the largest city in Finland. Since this doesn’t look like a Helsinki type of city, people assume its population is low enough that 20 idiots seems like a high percentange. I don’t think it’s bigotry, just a lack of scale.
If the DOT managed to eliminate street floods, post 10 would be out of the business and that would really suck for not only post 10 but all of his viewers

Love those Rainex beam style wipers. They really do last so much longer it's not even funny. Regular ones get all clogged up with snow and ice in the winter too between all the pieces that hinge together along the back. I also use Rainex liquid on the windshield itself every so often to double up the protection for the wipers (and to keep things clear in the rain.. sometimes without even needing the wipers at all).
I live in a really rainy place and my city had the combined sewer overflow for years. Constant poop in the big river right through the middle of town. The city finally did a huge project to change it and now we only get the overflow when we get biblical level rains. Can swim in it now!

And I know that post 10 is WAY less than 10%. But people keep relying on the government! No, government is not the answer. They are nearly always a big part of the problem.

I've been detecting frustration in your voice lately. You doing ok man?
That's how Portland's sewer is built but they've been trying to fix it the last 20 years.
Absolute legend.
It would be amazing to see a second shot of how much the flow increases while you're uncovering the grates. Would need to have a second camera, but it would look cool!
He does actually have that kind of setup now, but he usually only uses it when he’s unclogging culvert pipes, not storm drains.
Why are American so “screw you, I’ve got mine” in regards to everything but specifically in this case “I’m in my car safe and dry and an extra few seconds of my day to slow down is more important than not soaking this person.”
I could not live in a country where people are so commonly that far out selfish or so easy take such pleasure in kicking those they view as below them .
Like, “maybe there’s a flood in this commonly flooded area, I should go around it, or at least slow down.”
Long story short (I know, too late), it sickens most of us as well, and if I was ever in a car with a person like those that splashed him, I would never be in their car again, or call them, after chewing them out for a half hour.
what? America doesn't have exclusivity on inconsiderate selfish people. every country has their fair share of such people. don't make this into an American issue. you should be ashamed of yourself for making such a bigot stereotype hate statement.
@@Bobal27 Thank you, makes sense & it gives that 10% extra context about America I lacked so far ^^
@@Bobal27 seems reasonable, thank you for your time
From someone who lives in Australia, it is incomprehensible how the hell so much rain can regularly fall in one location!
Like you said, a big rock would be enough to cover that sidewalk problem. It shouldn’t be that expensive of a fix compared to the sidewalk repairs.
I'm surprised Post hasn't put boulders there himself. 🤣
Hey post love the videos! Keep it up
That was a cool double foot, “don’t stick me with a needle” drain clear I like it!!!

Some pretty fancy footwork. Extra credit for picking up the litter. Thanks great video.
Those are special oak trees with pine needles on them 😆 Great job again!
Dude, you're a road maintenance vigilante. Just hope at least one of the jurisdictions you provide assistance to pays you hourly. TBH, you're an unsung superhero. Keep up the good work, you've restored some of my faith in humanity.
I swear those two wet you on purpose. I was yelling at my TV. Poor Postie.
Man, that city owes you big time!

Yikes! How big was that slug?
The amount of rain you guys get, amazes me. I think that you got in that one day was our annual rainfall average.
Turn on RUclips, bang straight into some Post 🔟 visuals. Life couldn't be better. Cheers Kind Sir 💧☔
Rather than drench someone who is trying to make the roadway safer, those rejects either don’t have the intelligence to slow down/move over, or they’re just gigantic ani!!!
So I just sat through a class on road work and people just don't think people tend to drive without thinking they are just driving and they don't like to slow down
@@sqike001ton I see it all the time on the roads: people will just drive straight ahead until they come up behind someone, or drive in the fast lane until someone tries going around them THEN they speed up, or my “favorite” getting in my blind spot and pacing me so they don’t have to pay attention!
A couple of weeks ago I was passed by a woman who was eating and texting while cutting people off and tailgating. 😵
Your just one great guy who works relentlessly to keep motorists safe on flooded roads in your area. So sad to see one asshole who can’t even slow down to save soaking you, in the U.K. it’s an offense to soak people like that.

Surprised by the clip at the end. I've driven over the Arrigoni bridge at least a thousand times. It crosses the Connecticut River and connects Middletown, CT to Portland, CT.
I have fond memories of spending summers at my grandparents house in Middletown , CT in the 1960s .
Check this out , record this like u do and send the city a invoice . Find out how much it cost for them to send there ppl and send them a invoice with a cheaper number . That way u get paid for this . Also if they don’t wanna pay at least u have records of it and call help me Howard !! You’ll get paid for sure 🤣

We all saw the intentional splashing. I wish I could find that guy and give him a piece of all our minds. What a jerk.
This is pure Vigilantism Art
I live in a really rainy place and my city had the combined sewer overflow for years. Constant poop in the big river right through the middle of town. The city finally did a huge project to change it and now we only get the overflow when we get biblical level rains. Can swim in it now!
5:37 is my favorite quote of all time from post

I'm amazed that people think driving really fast through a flooded area is a great thing to do 🙄
