I think with this sharp looking new design and the addition of the option for AWD Kia would have seen increased sales in the US if they'd kept it here. And with the Chevy Impala, Buick Lacrosse and Ford Taurus also now gone from the market there'd have been less competition
Ever since I bought my 2021 Sorento SX I’ve been looking forward to the future KIA is beginning with these new elegantly designed vehicles. Man they’ve really really stepped up their game and are giving their customers what they want as well as putting up stiff competition with the other manufacturers in this price range!

To be honest, I haven't been able to give a high score in design for Korean cars until now. Even as a Korean, there were a lot of things that Hyundai and Kia lacked too much. However, the models recently released by Hyundai and Kia Motors are excellent in design. It is attractive. You can feel the quality of a first-class car.
Please Kia US bring back the Cadenza and K900 to our market; moreover rebadged them as K8 and K9 like what you did with the K5. This two models of yours are definitely a bargain for its offerings. I always prefer Kia than Hyundai/Genesis cause it’s more aggressive looking and beem a fan of the tiger nose grill. Great review as always!👌
@@yes8032 some years of Hyundai and kia are as reliable as Toyota although I will say dam near every Toyota car period is reliable even the hybrids. Early 2000 Hyundais are definitely bulletproof idk what's going on with that theta 2 engine tho.
The Avalon can’t hold a candle to this car. The new logo looks great on this car. This is a luxury car no matter the badge. Over 40 mpg highway? Is there any other six cylinder car that gets that mpg?

The car is beautiful and unfortunately everyone wants SUV’s and the Cadenza nor the K900 ever sold well here in the US. of all the non-luxury brands, KIA makes the closets thing to them. They really need to determine their brand identity. You can’t sell a Rio and the K900 under the same brand.

This is even better than their “luxury” brand Lexus… what Lexus has ventilated seats in the back with beautiful ambient lighting and smooth sequential turn signals… their sequential turn signal looks after market and super slow animation. Kia does everything right and is far more luxurious

Nice video Charlie! But maybe we can't call this "Cadenza". The K7 was the Cadenza and that's been cancelled for other markets. The K8 won't be sold in North America and is an all new model.
My wife loved her Cadenza, but it was stolen (and totaled). We got her a Lexus from the same year model as her Cadenza and she is not happy with the Lexus, she said she feels like she went backwards....Cadenza is underrated.

Obviously, I cannot tell how this new gorgeous sedan rides, but I know that the Avalon does the ride quality part very well. In fact, nothing in its class takes me hundreds of miles without very little fatigue. Being middle age and all, I would take the K8 if it rides close enough to the Avalon. The K8 has got it all. Appreciate your timely reports Charlie.
I think it can definitely hold up against audi a5 sportback! But it would have been a genious move if they would have made the trunk the same as the audi, so the whole back opens, including the rear window, it is so much more interesting because you can load more and bigger things. Anyways I think I’m in love! Hope it will be available in europe!
Very beautiful car! I like the shark trim! Front grill is sick! Blinkers are sooo different. Back lights are also beautiful! That map on the ultrawide screen looks insane! 😳 I have a 2016 Lexus GS with 12.5" display, but that KIA ultrawide looks gorgeous! If it's sharp display as the 2021 Genesis G80 it would be awesome!
Love the new logo and more cars need to rock the frameless grille! Fake mufflers are probably to prevent soot-staining of the back, stylistic, fake ports, I believe GM does something similar to this but don’t call me on it...!

No market in US for this K8. Sedans aren’t in and the Cadenza sold roughly 50,000 units from 2014-2021. I owned the last model and it was a good car. Too bad this model wasn’t available in AWD with the 3.5 motor in 2017.

Torn between Veloster and Avante/Elantra because Avante/Elantra has more room but no fold down seat, which I will need when I do photoshoots. Unless the backseat proves big enough for my strobe light C-stands. I don't want look "boy -racer" as I just turned 41. Also, I have two little girls, so Kona is more practical, but I REALLY want a manual transmission. I've only owned 1 automatic car, Hyundai Sonata 2.0T. Even with the turbo, it wasn't as fulfilling without a manual shifter. Decisions, decisions.
I love the new K8, when is it coming to America. The Cadenza didn't make it because of marketing and lack of improvement. This car will make it because of Technology and styling Please let me drive one for 6 months and become spokesman for car. Please improve rear headroom and have side rear interior lights and speaker. Also, I have two little girls, so Kona is more practical, but I REALLY want a manual transmission. I've only owned 1 automatic car, Hyundai Sonata 2.0T. Even with the turbo, it wasn't as fulfilling without a manual shifter.

I love my 2018 Cadenza. But why didn’t they make the backseat go down? I thought they would’ve corrected that issue being that everyone I have spoken with complains about the same thing.
Yes I think is better than Avalon. Reliably I can’t say. I bet is good not better than Toyota. Comparable though is a success.
