I can see the emotions on his face. People don't understand losing something that you have been doing for your entire life.
I read the article on Olympic and NFL athletes who transitioned from training, winning to boring public life. They were having PTSD because they were so trained to do a routine the past 10 years, and now it's gone. Ask any NFL "retired" player and a number of them could not get out of that training mentality after leaving the NFl. Their brain said STOP but their body is saying something else. Average year an NFL player is 3 years. Whatever Sheed says? Hard to tell because ANY competitor will not accept the end.
It's easy to joke about getting old, it's hard to accept it, but when you finally realize it, everything hurts.
Its not fun
Realizing you can't still do some of the things you use to do
Sheed was a fantastic Knick... I wish we had him in some of his prime years...
Literally the perfect role player. Him and Jason Kidd, while knicks
I don't even remember him with them
@@jasonwolfe3252 season Knicks lost in ECF to Indiana
Yeah I remember they won a lot of games with him, then he got injured. Would've love to see him more in the playoffs, he would've gave great minutes.
We had gotten some of his prime years or kinda in Detroit
That era of Sheed, KG, Timmy, CWebb, Dirk, McDyess, Pau, Amare, Jamison, etc was so awesome.
Golden age. All are better than KAT
“You ain’t no real hooper dog” 🤣🤣
His timing was perfect.
“Mission College” That School Daze, reference went over a lot of people’s heads. lol. Shout out to, Spike.
Uncle sheed turn around jumper was automatic
oh he's an uncle now
Loved Sheed when he balled out for the Pistons they had a great team when he was there and he was a huge part of them winning a title
Rasheed Wallasovich 😂😂
You don't know how much you miss sheed till you see him talking about the good old days. The fans still want to hear what our old favorite player have to say. Don't fade away we still rocking with yall.
I don’t wanna say sheed had wasted potential but I would say he was so unselfish to a fault he was a guy who wanted everybody to shine and was cool with being apart of the team instead of being the superstar main focal point that his talent screamed he should be a truly unselfish player
One of the greatest trades of all time by the Pistons to give them exactly what they needed to win a title. They don't get it done without Sheed, he's a true champion.
Appreciate the select choice of words very in depth on a highly basketball IQ level
@@enescustovic1883one of the worst championship teams in the modern era ...
@@tacotom3492how
@@tacotom3492 One of the best, they were dominate. 2 straight nba finals, won one. Went to 6 straight conference finals as well. Stfu troll.
I want Rasheed to tell us about Sabonis.
Yeah does he not like him?
@@user-gh3cz6eu7eright 😅
I wanna know too...I remember he threw a towel in his face
They’re cool, just didn’t hang out lol
He's told the story before.
Playing for a decade in Air Forces is something special
There you right !!!!👍 👍👍👍👍
Those are definitely not hooping shoes, lol I tried before
That's what ended his career early.
I ain’t lying. I damn near broke my ankle hooping in forces
@@j.j.6738he played nearly 20 years, nothing early about that
As a Tar Heels and Knicks fan Sheed is still 1 of my all-time favorites! Met him too and he's a good dude.
You can tell Sheed a wild ninja just by how he's breaking things down 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
2:56 “It was a wrap” shakes head. As a former hooper, I felt that 😂
Father Time is undefeated...
Yezz-n-deed!!!!!!
Sheed always kept it real. Loved watching him play
Its amazing how some pro athletes play at a high level for more than 15 years. Its not just the physical aspect but the mental part as well that plays a huge role how long one can last in professional sports. Lots of cats love the game a lot and it enables them to have a long career granted that they do what it takes to be physically fit (eating and sleeping right, no illegal substances, very little alcohol, recovery). But at the end of the day, one has to plan for the next stage of life after pro sports.
Lots of luck involved too. Players can easily get injured. Look at Jordan's 2nd year broken foot. Kobe's achilles. Isiah's achilles. Nique too. Those 3 with the achilles happened later in their career. It ended Isiah's time. Nique came back and was decent still. Kobe too but he was at the end. Jordan was lucky to have that injury early and it didn't affect him. But then he had knee problems while with the Wizards. Greg Oden is another one. Knees just said nope lol.
Sheed was a beast.
Basketball fucks you up. I'm not a pro but playing since the age of 11 my body feels all the aches at 36.
At a point in your 30’s you feel it , like is it worth it risking serious injury for a pick up game
Yeah I twisted my ankle three times first two times playing basketball outside on concrete and the other time I was coming downstairs and my ankle gave up on me and I twisted it really bad ankle was swollen like a tennis ball
Man, I played intramural at work. I quickly realized why there aren't back to backs like that anymore lol. Nothing like baseball though, people don't realize how tiring it is
I’m 30 and my body is pretty beat up from basketball
Basketball without 3-5 days of strength training combined is a waste of time and a danger to your body. All the stress on your joints with no muscle to support it leaves people with all these aches years later.
All I know is that Stephon Marbury sure did tear up the Chinese league
Ask him abt the game he had 2 headbands on at the same time
Them air forces 1 putting dat pressure on them feet😮
THE MISSION COLLEGE REFERENCE WAS EPIC. THANKS SHEED! #SCHOOLDAZE
Bro be fried
Hey Rasheed you , without a Doubt One of the Best to Ever Play the Game of Basketball. True Champion, Great Personality 😊 Nothing But Love for You 😊
I like these interviews woth Sheed! He is so cool. I know he aint wanna go to the 76ers during his rookie season, but I wished he came after Portland or Detroit
one of the 1st big men with a solid shot
Man I would love to have seen sheed against these guys, like jokic. This NBA has no D. I want to see that work out in. Sheed is a baller, an all timer, a champ and a hall of famer!
Rasheed has a very high basketball IQ and you can say most players from the ACC, Big 10, and Big East are skilled and they had better coaches back in the 70's, 80's, and 90's.
I watch when sheed play with the knicks he was the best big man the knicks had the time
I really like watching Sheed play….miss the good old days, man
One of my favorite players Rasheed, "You better Guard Me", Wallace
He is being modest..... Rasheed had mad skills !
Shred is too real. Respect 🫡
big homie took my spot on the Knicks that yr crushed my lil dreams
He knew it the moment he realized his head patch got bigger. 👍
Gone are the days when the Knicks are getting players who are about to retire, Jason Kidd ,Rasheed Wallace ,Kenyon Martin, that 2013 team was good though.
The height of his turnaround jumper was always beautiful.
Every old guy went through this. Your mind saying we got this, but your body won't cooperate.
I remember in 2005, thinking the Pistons would go back to back. I'm still surprised the Spurs beat them in the Finals.
If the Pistons drafted Melo they would have won that series.
still hurts, that game 7 man. 😡
@@scowlistic Spurs had better offensive flow in that series and that's why they won.
@@DIVISIONINCISION Ben Wallace was our leading scorer in the 1st half. 😭
Rasheed was a DAWG in Portland and Detroit. Him and Stackhouse and NC ? The days when watching the NCAA tournament was must see TV. I have not watched a full NCAA basketball tournament in years.
Your body tells you when to stop, so you stop.
This shit was endearing. These dudes are funny as hell.
Sheed one of the best most underrated fowards to ever play the game.
1:16 - that sound, did you tweak your knee?
loved this ^_^
Sheed really kicked off that stretch big for the NBA he was pulling from deep back in the day
I believe he still give you buckets until this day but you never know you might have just gave him an idea to come back 😆😆😆🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The mission college try 😂 School Daze lol
Rasheed WallaceSosavich is wild
People still think overseas ballers are scrubs…
Deadass lol
You have to know when to bow out gracefully
Ball Don't Lie!!!
He is so right and I never played in the nba….that training to get in shape is so much tear on your body especially when you get up there in age
I’m a whole vet 😂and I feel this man pain bruh onG I was the most athletic young man you would have ever been around 300 on almost every PT test even did extended scale ,but now shiddd I have to roll out bed my back seems like I’m 90 😅
We can thank Sheed for the NBA having a tech limit…. 🤣💯
Truth Serum, those emotions, of your body telling you one thing, the cool thing is the acceptance, and not to risk it. 😊
Sheed’s feeling those random aches and pains because he’s about to be 50😂
...man, I forgot he went to UNC too! A lot of ppl sleep on Sheeds career...
I love when Michael Jordan and Kobe told their story about when they knew it was time to retire. I respect when a player of any sport knows when it's time to throw in the towel. LeBron needs to listen to these guys.
He had a great career
Sheed cool as fuck!…”trying to reach over Shaq…”🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rasheed Walloscivic took me out 😂😂😂
We need you back in the NBA ( WWE )
Lol
I can't imagine having Shaq do that to my arm
Would feel that shi for life 😂😂
Never knew he was in new york.
They play ball hard overseas too
If Sheed would have not been an all time choker against the Lakers in the conference finals, Pippen would have seven and Sheed would have one to hang his hat on.
@@missioncodez Thanks for the correction. Still wish he would have showed up at all in that 4th quarter.
That decor is nasty work.
😅😅😅..bro you can't hoop...😅😅😅 in all honesty Sheed...man injuries cut him short. He was a beast. Much respect 👍🏾
Philadelphia King 👑
He should have given himself an opportunity to rehab fully.
You aren't understanding. He did give himself time. But there comes a time when your body just can't ever fully rehab. Thats what Sheed was saying and how he knew it was time. Our bodies are like the check engine light on old cars, once it come on it is never going off
Wallosivich😂😂
You know it’s over when the Knicks get you.
Wallosovich. 😭
Sheed!

NBA players can get hurt in a game and get paid $100K that game alone vs a regular Joe or Jane and just get $60K a year. My homeboy a former NBA player
Oh, I thought it was when you left Horry wide open game 5 of the 2005 finals and cost my Pistons their 4th championship. My bad🤷♂️
I grew up not liking Rasheed Wallace because I thought he was a thug. But honestly these interviews have changed my opinion. Well spoken, smart, insightful. I even watched some of his career highlights and couldn't believe how complete his game was.
I was 100% wrong. New subscriber here!
Sheed is the nba version of Warren Sapp
I just wanted to know why sheed retired.
Didn’t he play for like 17 seasons???
@@YouCanChangeYourWorldTodaydude really had a good nba career Imo
@@Jp2timezz his height helped him, if he was a guard he wouldn’t have lasted so long. He underachieved in my opinion. He could’ve been an even greater player if he didn’t have those referee/tech foul issues, bad boy image, and the weed smoking etc.

Rasheed doesn’t hurt his back 2010 Finals Boston wins that game
Sitting in the locker room knowing, not just your career is over but the only way of Life you've known since childhood is now a thing of the past.
Yeah, you've made your millions yeah you have international fame but there must have been a moment of true fear, 'what do I do now' because probably for the first time in Life they're worth as a person ( because most people's identities are greatly intertwined with their profession ) is in question.
@@user-hj7rg3bw6c well, I'd be included on that list, and the mental fall wouldn't be nearly as dramatic because the rest of us didn't follow the arduous path of the professional athlete.
Dude looks like he smokes hella weed
He knew it was time to hang it up when his technicals per year started dropping....didn't have the passion anymore.
@2:26 😂😂😂😂
Listen to your body.
Team USA 2004 should have been arenas sheed Kenyon
There was no way Rasheed would go overseas and get 60 points or more and big stats. These boys in Europe know how to play…he would have gotten highly disappointed!
When you're that old playing in the NBA, you're probably not making that much. 38 years old prob making the veteran minimum. Not worth the rehab and coming back and going on the road every night away from your family. Already had a championship with the Pistons.
His KC thing is not new. What a snack to Eagle fans faces. 😂
He wore the wrong shoes
You not no hooper dog 😂
Damn
😭CRINE
Everything he said but at 34 yrs old for normal people
Otherworldly basketball skills...but I'll bet he can still whine like a 4 year old.
That's a skill of his, undiminished by time and age...
Rasheed got washed up fast out of nowhere. He looked great in the 2005 Finals then 2006 and 2007 season he couldn't score or play d the same
The mj slander is blasphemous. Mj owned alex english
😅tyty yty
Man trying to say he a real hooper, yet he equating the European leagues to those in Asia by saying Sheed would give them the same business ... tells me you actually know nothing about international ball.
