I like how ep/vol 1 tricks you into thinking its gonna be one of those wacky teenage comics where the main character is a dorky superhero who has to juggle between saving the world and surviving high school life and getting himself into a bunch of funny and awkward shenanigans And then it hits you in face like a train... kinda like Mark.
Sadly many new to media don't know about deception and deconstructions, while at the same time asking for deconstruction ie constantly claiming everything is done before tropes and predictable then passing over stuff that's not due to my second point Many dont have the attention span to read or watch a show long enough for the big twist if the show seems cliche or seen before. It's fairly obvious a show isnt as cliche as it lets on when tons of people are criticizing it well, but people still come into popular stuff hands folded asking why it's not blowing their minds in the first 5 minutes vs some of their favorites, overlooking that they spent many hours getting into what they claim are their favorites and are nostalgic. I think tons of shows start off simple, Hunter x hunter, to berserk for example, but have a deceptive nature to them that is good when you wait for the pay off. Rule of thumb, most of the time something popular isnt popular cause the audience eats up everything, sometimes its actually good. Other rule of thumb, you may see the tropes and claim something is cliche but the tropes may have originated closer to the show your watching but it just came out way later. Final point, sadly to offset people dropping before the big twist of a show that makes it different, people have to or try oversell the show...trust me it gets good turns into it gets crazy, to it's amazing just watch all the way through. People somehow came out of the train scene in season 1 saying it was boring due to this...like really what would it take to get you a shot of adrenaline lol.

Watched the show and yes it is amazing… hands down, the best part is every time someone is about to say “invincible” the word pops up on the screen instead. A simple yet genius move
Kirkman announced that he wants to push it to seven seasons total, considering there were 133 issues or so, its fitting for a span of that long though, in total they only used like 10 or 11 issues in the first season. I think next season will pull more from multiple issues.
I love how this comic deals with the question of whether killing as a utilitarian solution is okay or not. It’s a base question. That probably doesn’t have a correct answer. Pretty cool. And I love how this channel always has little moments of real life advice. You take a simple scene like between Mark and Amber and go in depth and talk about it in a real way. I love the detours. Great video.
It’s my opinion that the Viltrumite idea of weeding out the weakest in their society was heavily influenced by the Nazi ideology of the “Master Race.” It’s literally the definition of Eugenics: Breeding certain people together and discarding the rest…I think the humane answer is the obvious one, but then again they aren’t human…so it does make you ponder what’s actually right and wrong.

I normally feel bad when a race looses their home world, but viltrum honestly disturbed me a little bit, like how can you throw 98 percent of dead bodies of your people into your planets orbit to make ring….and they don’t even decay, yikes.

It doesn't really *have* a temperature, because it's a vacuum, so, assuming the planet has a star, those bodies would most likely be incredibly hot. On the flip side, decay (assuming it's comparable to human biology) is a product of bacteria, which need oxygen (or whatever their atmosphere is). So, yeah, I suspect they've got a ring of super hot mummies up there (...and I don't know if that's an intentional highly disturbing double entendre or not... 😰)

I remember some astronaut talking about the freezing-ass cold when the sun was down, but now that you mention it, later in the interview he used the heat of the sunrise during the same spacewalk to heat up some part he was trying to get to fit together. Hey Rob, just wanted to come back to this video and tell you thank you. I watched the first hour a few weeks back and thought "you know what? I really want to read this entire run myself." I love your narration and everything, but obviously reading the comics yourself is an entirely different experience. So that day I ordered all three compendiums with every comic. Just finished them about ten minutes ago and, just, wow. What an incredible story from front to back. I'm so glad I stopped watching this an hour in so I wasn't spoiled. That was actually only my second time ever reading an entire comic run (the first, funnily enough, was The Walking Dead) and I did it all in just a couple days because I just could not put it down. What a great story. I had already watched the show before watching this video, but you convinced me to buy the books and read them all. So, if any comic writer or someone like that says guys like you are bad for the industry, just add me to the list of the, I'm sure thousands, of people you've convinced to buy comics.

Rob does a really good job of dropping numerous valuable nuggets of advice in this whole full story video. I’m super grateful for that in all honesty. Everyone complains about politics in comics book even though comics are inherently political which I know rob has addressed but I love how rob is able to do something similar sharing his personal life experiences when he reads these stories to us. Rob is so good at translation what is going on in the comic and then relating it to real while not taking away from the narrative
I always think about the panel where Superman flicks the guy and he flies back and how if he really did that, his head would just explode on impact. Superhero physics is wild hahaha.

The comic book/anime tropes of super beings is played so well in Invincible. The Boys handled it well in many ways but Invincible just seems so much more deeper and heart felt.

I mean the way you explained the stuff about Eve and Mark etc. literally helped me put my own relationship in persepective. Won't go into detail but i'm really happy with her. I like how they brought the new suit in right when mark started to change alittle. He was never big on the idea of murder but he actually started to say he would kill someone not only that it’s different to just say you’ll do it rather then to straight up tell that person you will kill them

100% it makes it hard to watch sometimes. I appreciate the work he puts into these but he has a tendency to really over explain and also incessantly repeats “and what we will see” “and what we find out”
i'd imagine, is much like dragons in dnd, their physical abilities and mental abilities don't start to decline until like maybe the final decade or so of their life, if i had to guess what keeps the viltrimites from having immortality in the same way as the immortal

One of my favourite parts of the comics was the attentions to small details the first of which we see is when mark throws the garbage bag when he gets his powers and a few chapters later it lands on a pathway nearly hitting a man walking his dog and there’s so many more sprinkled all the way throughout the comic and I love it

I think tons of shows start off simple, Hunter x hunter, to berserk for example, but have a deceptive nature to them that is good when you wait for the pay off. Rule of thumb, most of the time something popular isnt popular cause the audience eats up everything, sometimes its actually good. Other rule of thumb, you may see the tropes and claim something is cliche but the tropes may have originated closer to the show your watching but it just came out way later.
Final point, sadly to offset people dropping before the big twist of a show that makes it different, people have to or try oversell the show...trust me it gets good turns into it gets crazy, to it's amazing just watch all the way through. People somehow came out of the train scene in season 1 saying it was boring due to this...like really what would it take to get you a shot of adrenaline lol.

Kirkman announced that he wants to push it to seven seasons total, considering there were 133 issues or so, its fitting for a span of that long though, in total they only used like 10 or 11 issues in the first season. I think next season will pull more from multiple issues.

I love how this comic deals with the question of whether killing as a utilitarian solution is okay or not. It’s a base question. That probably doesn’t have a correct answer. Pretty cool. And I love how this channel always has little moments of real life advice. You take a simple scene like between Mark and Amber and go in depth and talk about it in a real way. I love the detours. It’s my opinion that the Viltrumite idea of weeding out the weakest in their society was heavily influenced by the Nazi ideology of the “Master Race.” It’s literally the definition of Eugenics: Breeding certain people together and discarding the rest…I think the humane answer is the obvious one, but then again they aren’t human…so it does make you ponder what’s actually right and wrong.

It doesn't really *have* a temperature, because it's a vacuum, so, assuming the planet has a star, those bodies would most likely be incredibly hot. On the flip side, decay (assuming it's comparable to human biology) is a product of bacteria, which need oxygen (or whatever their atmosphere is). So, yeah, I suspect they've got a ring of super hot mummies up there (...and I don't know if that's an intentional highly disturbing double entendre or not... 😰)

Hey Rob, just wanted to come back to this video and tell you thank you. I watched the first hour a few weeks back and thought "you know what? I really want to read this entire run myself." I love your narration and everything, but obviously reading the comics yourself is an entirely different experience. So that day I ordered all three compendiums with every comic. Just finished them about ten minutes ago and, just, wow. What an incredible story from front to back. I'm so glad I stopped watching this an hour in so I wasn't spoiled. That was actually only my second time ever reading an entire comic run (the first, funnily enough, was The Walking Dead) and I did it all in just a couple days because I just could not put it down. What a great story. I had already watched the show before watching this video, but you convinced me to buy the books and read them all. I like how they brought the new suit in right when mark started to change alittle. He was never big on the idea of murder but he actually started to say he would kill someone not only that it’s different to just say you’ll do it rather then to straight up tell that person you will kill them

I originally was going to stop where it caught up with the show, because I've never read the comics and didn't really want to spoil anything... two days later I just reached the end of the video. It's just too engaging of a story. I LOVES IT! Of course I'll still watch Season 2 and however many others come out. But I'm glad I watched this through. Excellent! 😻😁👍

100% it makes it hard to watch sometimes. I appreciate the work he puts into these but he has a tendency to really over explain and also incessantly repeats “and what we will see” “and what we find out”
And… he talks about women as if he has never interacted with one
He talks about right and wrong but also believes that good and evil is subjective, it's annoying af.

One of my favourite parts of the comics was the attentions to small details the first of which we see is when mark throws the garbage bag when he gets his powers and a few chapters later it lands on a pathway nearly hitting a man walking his dog and there’s so many more sprinkled all the way throughout the comic and I love it
