The first time I came to this video was because of my father. Back then I only knew Bowser, Eggman, kinda heard some things of the Zelda Villain guy, and I had no clue who Sephiroth was. Now I recently finished playing the FF7 Remake and I'm happy to finally know what is happening in this video.
I also love that both in this song and in "I'm The Boss", this is basically an more modern version of Sephiroth, and it's kinda adorable. In the game he also always is so cold and all that and here he has these shots where he looks excited and lively and it's adorable

When I first heard the concept for this band, I thought it would be cringy. But then the actual songs proved me SO wrong, especially this one. Not only did they make a catchy as hell song that actually relates to Sephiroth, they respected the source material, and even found ways to incorporate One Winged Angel and J.E.N.O.V.A

So wouldn't it be interesting if Jenova was actually a main antagonist rather than just a corpse in a tube? sephiroth is badass, but Jenova is mysterious and never shows her true power due to being incomplete, dormant, and under sephiroth's control.
Also 2:45 just makes me think Sephy is thinking: "Cloud my friend you got my invitation!"

that's what i usually mean when i think jenova is the true main protag of the game i mean while yes sephiroth is the one controlling the cells but it might actually be jenova doing the string pulling. my thought is sephiroth is actually dead and jenova is using his body and mind to become a god by using the lifesteam.
I think that's what she's doing in the video. I mean, Sephy is kinda obviously mind-controlling everyone else, and Jenova is controlling Sephy (2:31), so, maybe?
@@tristancruver4527 The actual in game lore is that Sephiroth's consciousness only survived thanks to Jenova's cells and the cells that were inside other beings and the experiment allowing for him to take them over and transform them into him. Jenova's will though was weaker than Sephiroth most likely due to her being dormant and weakened. So Sephiroth pretty much took over Jenova's whole being...overpowering and destroying her in a sense. Though due to the fact he went insane and the intense pain the Lifestream probably inflicted onto him when he fell into it.... Yeah.
But Jenova as a being is best described as an unrelenting bio weapon based on the lore you can figure out in the games. Her whole goal being to absorb all life on a planet and ultimately destroy the Lifestream. Her in an active state she hsd more power being abled to turn into perfect copies of her victims even down to their memories. Those that Jenova injects with her genetic material (cells) Turn into monsters or go mad and try to reunite with Jenova, creating super beings like Sephiroth and slowly driving them mad or to search for Jenova to reunite its cells. Even if it wasn't abled to win quickly it could bide its time and cause another event similar or worse than the Geostigma by assimilating its cells into the Lifestream if not outright destroying the Lifestream. As Sephiroth's goal in FF7 wasn't to destroy the planet, but to force the Lifestream to come to the planets aid then absorb the Lifestream and become a god. Advent Children we see that Jenova's will may not be completely gone and Sephiroth is subcoming to the nature of the creature, as when he returns using a victim of Jenova's cells and a massive amount of her original bio mass his goals have changed to destroying the planet like Jenova intended to and continuing the cycle.
Jenova is what Sephiroth thinks he is. A Monster. Except a Monster with no other goal than the destruction of all life, with no remorse or morality. Sephiroth at least had human nature in a sense, Jenova is just a monster, a calamity, and a blight to all life.
Idk we get alot of "human" or sentient antagonists in Final Fantasy, it would be interesting to see a true cold calculating monster as the villian. Not something that will tease and taunt you along your quest, but something that only wishes to snuff out your life for the sake of doing so.
I always thought a prequel about Jenova first arriving on the planet and the ancients dealing with her would be amazing

Big Bow, Ronik and G-Cash didn't have green eyes in "I'm the Boss.", I feel like this is an intentional detail considering every villain at the Reunion has green glowing eyes. (Aside from the ones with glasses, you can't see their eyes but I'm assuming they're like the rest.)

I've never played Dark Souls or Bloodborne, but from what I can see it can be compared to most RPG's these days.

Actually, he only helped us with the recording of the first track. All the music and lyrics were done by Jake Kaufman. Ego only voiced a skit we wrote for him.
