- A 10 min. looped version of Edo Castle's theme from Goemon's Great Adventure. This is the reason why I wanted to extend GGA's soundtrack in the first place. All the castle themes are pure freaking win. I'm putting this one in third place though, maybe because although it's awesome, it doesn't really stand up to the Underworld Castle theme nor Majin Castle's. But still, I have wasted a lot of hours listening to this song.

I thought the same thing lol It was so intense and frustrating I kept telling my grandma "I have to beat the game!" Though with Impact smashing the castle I was nervous as hell one of my first instances of sweaty palms due to gaming stress xD

I can't believe how hard this slaps
I still remember the flames appearing and Impact in the back ground attacking the castle. The scene and song go perfectly together like a real life crises.
This game probably has the best BGM in the Goemon series.

This game has a really awesome and underrated soundtrack, and I think we can all agree that the shiro themes are the best, especially Edo and Ryugu.
I can't think of a single stage song that isn't superb.

which, fantastically, play as you move through the castle (and change back if you backtrack enough)
this was the first game I played that did something like this, and when you're am 8 year old kid just discovering the magic of the N64, something even as little as that is mind-blowing, and THIS is one of the reasons this game is one of my all-time favourites~
it’s crazy I thought this game was a figment of my imagination but it was so epic I remembered the fighting robots and that fast punching move and was some how able to find it.

This level is one of the best, not only in this game, in ANY game. Long ass level with awesome music + epic first boss + a giant robot tag battle. Name another game that has that.
Dopest level soundtrack ever.
The bosses and the robot fighting bosses in this game were phenomenal! I loved playing every second of this game. Amazing memories with this game. Will always be in my heart as I grow up

Wonderful OST and awesome game with the feeling of Goemon SNES games.
The end give me goosebumps! I remember running to the end of the castle and being prepared to beat the hell out of anything on my way just with that drum thing that play before facing the boss. So many awesome songs.

A slightly updated version or remake of this game for 3DS would be awesome. (But they obviously have to keep the original OST)
The only thing that disappointed me about the game was that they didn't let you replay the castles after you defeated them! If only they'd done that, say after when you collected all the entry passes (with bosses and robots as a menu option like in the first game), it would have been perfection!

But, really, somebody needs to upload several saves online featuring every castle.
Late to the party, but with an emu you can make a savestate before every castle to enjoy replaying those. What a timeless gem this game is.
The Legend of the Mystical Ninja was my favorite game growing up. Hence the screenname. The latter games were also awesome. Goemon's Great Adventure was probably my favorite platformer of that era.

I played Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon briefly at a friends house at the age of like 5. I remembered the Mount Fuji song for so many years. So when I finally encounted the game 9 years later I instantly recognized it and I got back into the franchise. This is awesome!!! Thanks Firebird!!!! :)

I never heard this song until 2009 when I played online on n64 emulator with a friend coop. We kept dying and never went pass edo castle. we kept redoing this level. I ended up loving the song good time uvu

I remember years ago, my sister and I where playing, and were about to fight the final Impact Battle before facing off against Dochuki, and we paused it so she could use the bathroom.
We were poised on top of the character change portal before the end of the level and needed to make one final jump to reach the boss. And for some reason, I (Sasuke the robot with the shittiest jump) tried to make it, and died, costing us our final life.
My sister LOST HER SHIT. We had spent all day getting to this point, so much frustration deaths and game overs and we had finally gotten there, only for me to ass it up.
She screamed at me like she'd caught me stabbing kittens and I actually thought she was going to smash my face in with the N64 controller.
And she'd be kinda justified! This game was a cheap bitch when it came to difficulty!

Bring this game to the switch. they need a remake, this game was the best game I've played so far.
Sadly that will likely never happen, considering Konami killed off the franchise and left it to rot in pachinko parlors since 2011.

This is THE 4 player game for the N64!
Only after you unlock 4 player mode by collecting all passes. So annoying there's no cheat code
And the first one was only 1 player and no multiplayer

Not the only game to have a convoluted method of multiplayer. Story of thor 1 and 2 have really messed up multi player modes, only available through a cheat code, and the game is significantly harder when activated.

@tonitrus01 the whole game was like that...the further you got in the stages the more "complex" the music got. This track was the best in the game IMO classic Geomon music. The epitome of Geomon actaully.

I love the soundtrack of this game, but I have to disagree with the OP. The game started with the best Castle Theme from the gate. I still hum this one to this day. Not to mention, this is the song they added to Pachislot Ganbare Goemon, so they must like this one over the others.
