  • Today we fit a new modification to the GR Yaris. We fit the String Theory 21.5mm Wheel Spacers. These are designed for the stock OEM wheels to space them out into the arches for a more aggressive fitment. At the same time we clean and ceramic seal the wheels while they are off the car! Enjoy.

    Subscribed. Some nice tips there. I have spacers on my M4, they look great. Makes the car look that bit more aggressive. Will need to get a set for my Yaris. Thanks for link.

    Been eyeing these spacers for a while! Thanks for doing a video on them!
    Would love to hear your impressions on how/if it affects the driving dynamics of the car :)

      I have to say I can feel very little difference. Maybe alittle heavier on the steering feel. But not much in it.
      Great product. Veryyyy well made. And looks soooo much better now too!

    Tip use a hockey puck or cloth between jack and the sill to avoid long term damage to the sill!
    If you’d drive the car on some wood this would lift the car, so you can get your jack to the centre jack point on the front.

      Great idea. I did look at a hockey puck and had to order one as couldn’t find one local.

    Looks loads better😎...dont mean to be a smart arse but... The nuts attaching the spacer to the hub should be 103nm...not 115. 103nm is max for the standard studs. The string theory threads are 115nm.👍🏼

    • @FaithlessEmoRacing
      @FaithlessEmoRacing  Год назад +1

      It does look a lot better!
      I have just checked the instructions in the package and they do say the spacer nuts to 115nm and then the wheel to 103nm. 3:54.
      I will reach out to String Theory and double check though!

      @@FaithlessEmoRacing very wierd.... As the standard studs are known to snap.. Standard nuts to standard studs is 103. As 103nm is what the standard studs can take. But yes mate.. Check. 👍🏼

      @@FaithlessEmoRacing unless the 115 figure is for the new nuts.. But it should be all about the stud.... I don't see why it should increase the nm on a standard stud which is 103nm max from Toyota.

    Hey, its hard to see on video, but how aligned are wheels with arch. Do they stick out few mm or completly aligned? Im looking to buy them, but could run into legal issues if they poke out due to pedestrian safety regulations..

    • @FaithlessEmoRacing
      @FaithlessEmoRacing  6 месяцев назад +1

      If you’re using them with the stock wheels then they don’t poke out from the arches at all.

      @@FaithlessEmoRacing thanks! Should have no problem homologating it then.

    Hi there, great video. Quick question, with extra 21.5mm poke out via spacer, does the wheel scrub the wheel arches at all?

    • @FaithlessEmoRacing
      @FaithlessEmoRacing  Год назад +1

      No rubbing at all. Im not lowered and on the standard Circuit Pack suspension and no issues at all!

    Hiya, no mention of an alignment, did or does it need one after changing the spacer. Thanks.

    • @FaithlessEmoRacing
      @FaithlessEmoRacing  11 месяцев назад

      I checked this with the alignment place i went in the next videos. They said that wheel spacers wont change alignment. They will change geometry like scrub radius but not the alignment.

    What about the bearings with those spacers ? I ordered to you mudflaps with logo, so great !!!

      A lot of cars do run spacers including race cars. Yes there would be abit more load, but nothing too much!

    Apologies, I have only just seen this video.
    I’m looking to install similar wheel spacers to my GR Yaris down here in Australia.
    A supplier here has similar spec spacers at 21.5mm, however they also offer 23.5 & 25mm for the rear only.
    I see that you have since moved on from the factory BBS wheels, however can you recall if there was still sufficient space at the rear to accommodate additional spacing at either 23.5 or 25mm.
    Thanks in advance.

      On the stock wheel you can get a couple more mm’s more poke. Should be ok, but then you maybe able to see more of the wheel poke out from above, that’s sometimes not legal in some countries.

      Yep, iv been looking at "mode auto concepts" I think. 21.5mm front 25mm rear for aggressive fitment

    How does it feel to drive after any difference?

    • @FaithlessEmoRacing
      @FaithlessEmoRacing  3 месяца назад +1

      Not much of a difference to be felt on the road. Maybe a little more weight in the steering but not much.
