  • The Largs Viking Festival is held annually to celebrate the Battle of Largs, in which the Scots repelled a Viking force invading from the sea. A mock Viking village is built beside Largs Prom and occupied by re-enactors of the battle. Towards the end of the Festival, the 'Vikings' conduct a torchlit procession along the prom to light a signal beacon and burn a Viking long ship. This is the 2012 Procession. You can't miss the young lady swinging the lit torches.
