  • In 2 parts, a trip we enjoyed on the Waverley paddle steamer on a windy Sunday in July 2012. We left Largs to sail firstly to the port of Lochranza on the Isle of Arran and then down the Kilbrannan Sound, between Arran and the Kintyre Peninsula to Campbeltown, the Mull of Kintyre and the Sanda Islands. The ship was crowded and we were on deck most of the time, but despite being windy and rather cold for July, we enjoyed the experience. As you can see, we were unable to moor at Lochranza because of the wind and had to skirt the Sanda Island as we were late.

Thanks for your comment. Like you I have many memories of the Clyde Steamers. It's great to still have the opportunity to relive those moments. By the way, it was very cold on deck, so be prepared to carry some warm clothing.
