I am interested in the World War II history of Rockhampton. There was a large U.S./Allied Army Base there. The "Jungleers" trained for jungle warfare in the area. Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt visited the base as well! Is anything left of the military base in Rockhampton? Other historical artifacts or information about the town's role in World War II?

Archer park rail museum has old steam tram. Not big place but you into that stuff is good.

That does sound very interesting; we didn't come across any artifacts or information during our time in Rockhampton.
