The Proto-Tyrant is so BADASS! I love how you can see the issues with his nervous system thanks to his constant “twitching”. The claw is so weird! And the explosed vertebra along with his general more “meaty” designed compared to the “slim” Tyrant of Re1 give the Re0 Tyrant a way more “horror” oriented design! Needless to say, I really enjoyed fighting him in Re0’s 2 encounters with his “rush” playstyle and in Re Umbrella chronicles where he is capable of using more attacks of the standard Tyrants.
RE0 deserves a remake because we need to know how exactly Billy escaped the zombie-infested military transport before the events of RE0 and whether he survived the destruction of Raccoon City.
Fun fact: the use of the word "zombie" is a misnomer. A zombie is a living person that is under mind control. A "ghoul" is actually a reanimated corpse that eats human flesh. In the original 1968 Night of the Living Dead, they actually refer to them as ghouls.
I remember in the novel, that the Marcus Queen saw Rebecca and Billy as useful to him. He wanted survivors to find all the horrible experiments and alert the world, crushing Umbrella. To that end he was using the Mimicry Marcuses to try to direct them on that path. He never intended to let one actually harm them, He only got pissed at them and deemed they should die too when they started killing the mimicry Marcuses, which were his children to him.
BOWs would be a horrible military asset. They’re impossible to control, impossible to limit the damage they inflict, and just as likely to attack and kill your own forces as anyone else. You’d waste ammo and lives just reining them in after a battle. Better to develop a more effective rifle or a better tank.
The two exceptions, though, would probably be Tyrants and some of the Plaga-controlled B.O.W.s. Given that the former has intelligence more comparable to normal humans and the latter’s minds are directly linked to whoever possesses a Dominant Plaga (on top of potentially having high intelligence), both are more capable of following sophisticated orders. So that might avert the primary problem you mentioned, not to mention some B.O.W.s from both categories being able to supplement their strength with tailor-made weapons (like Nemesis’ rocket launcher). All the other B.O.W.s, though, would likely be more attractive to terrorists rather than government militaries. The former is much less likely to care about collateral damage or worry about how to recapture the B.O.W.s after unleashing them. That is, especially if their plan is to release them in the middle of a dense civilian population rather than on a battlefield.
I'm sure they could remake the RE: origins duo games in a way that they fit with each other properly. Like they can remake RE1 and maybe add a small dlc of how Rebecca reached the mansion while clearing out the lore of RE0 aswell. Or remake both the games in a way that they fit the remake continuity.
In the original RE game there's a piece of paper that says the Hunters were created from skinless gorillas with amphibian DNA not humans with Reptile DNA
In my opinion, the naked zombies have always been actual test subjects for the virus, not just people hit by it at random. Additioanlly, I have always found it weird when the horror genre (with zombies in it) just somehow doesn't exist in the world of the zombie horror you're looking at. It's bizarre, and to think that not even the *voodoo zombie* exists to make the logical leap is a bit of a leap when you think about it.
Well in re 3 the old one you would go to the dumping ground where they would burn them all the dead subjects or people getting killed in the early days of the outbreak but it stopped working because there were too many bodies to burn and they were naked
Yeah I had talked about that before also, the West Indian folklore of zombies has no presence whatsoever in the zombie horror genre both in video games and film(with specific exceptions)
These are fun and very binge-able videos! Nicely produced and researched. My enduring question though is: Have any of these bio-weapons ever been deployed intentionally by a state that purchased them..? Literally every Resident Evil game seems to be Umbrella doing an "oops", or doing some internal testing, or opportunistically testing, and their motive is always "well we were going to sell it as a bio weapon!". But.. Like.. Have they ever actually put a successful bioweapon on the market?
I just imagine all the ZP videos of the RE series where Yahtzee speaks as a evil general/warlord to the Umbrella rep pitching their bioweapons to them asking "How are these things more efficient than dropping a bomb on my target?" and the rep can't give a good answer to that.
Some housekeeping 🧹 - The Proto Tyrant's model number is T-001, not T-00.
- Marcus was killed by Spencer because he was trying to seize control of Umbrella. After Marcus had his apprentices (Wesker and Birkin) stripped away from him, he dedicated himself to working in his lab. Marcus' plan was to present his research to Umbrella's executive directors, believing that his findings would lead to the company being handed over to him. Spencer caught wind of this, and sent a squad to take out Marcus.
It’s interesting that that the concept/official art of Eliminators give them a tail but in game they don’t, or at least just have a stubby one. I imagine it might have been a pain to properly animate long, agile tails, without them clipping in to things. I wonder if there’s a lore reason though, like if the tails were necrotic and just rotted off, or they were removed surgically due to be a vulnerable weak spot, or even torn off by other eliminators. Also didn’t Umbrella experiment on children in the Raccoon City orphanage? I guess their stance on that sort of thing could have changed between Marcus’s experiments in the 80’s to the late 90’s.
We need a remake of this one ! it just never got its damn flowers just cause it was deemed hard , off with some flaws that really can be redeemed easily with a good overhaul. Let's hope it gets remake a la RE2 style and not RE3Remake since the lore here is very important.
Coming from the other videos of the series I wish they could make the remakes include the large bugs and also make it accessible for people like me who just can’t handle bugs or spiders. It sucks they cut so many enemies
3:30 Yeah, I've never been a fan of renaming zombies to something else thinking you've made something different and unique. it's still a zombie at its core. calling a zombie a Walker? to me, that never made sense. what if a crippled person regains feeling in his legs and starts to walk again? "Look! He's WALKING!" Just a small rant of my own personal opinion.
You'd think they'd call them something else other than zombies. If they don't have zombies in their pop culture, how do they call them what we call them? They don't exist in the RE universe's culture. You'd think they'd call them walkers or biters or something.
A couple of goofs: the Proto-Tyrant's serial number was T-001, not T-00. T-00 was the batch number for the T-103 unit dispatched to Raccoon City in RE2 (better known as Mr. X). Second, it's never specifically stated anywhere that Dr. Marcus conducted experiments on children. Even if he did, Umbrella have shown they have no problem with it. In the RE2 remake, there are files suggesting that they experimented on the kids at the orphanage.
T-01 was the tyrant at the end of RE1. I'm almost certain a file in 0 stated the proto was T-00 and deemed a failure because it had too many issues they resolved in the T-01. Or maybe I've just not played zero in too long and I'm confusing numbers and files.
Imagine, rebecca as the weakest protagonist of resident evil but having one of the strongest and annoying enemy. The mimicry marcus. That and the BGM on the 1st time i played it, i almost had a heart attack.
"But I still can't figure out what those naked Zombies were up to before they turned." They have surgical scars. They're test subjects, that's why they're naked. Also the variant of T at the Spencer mansion is not the one in 0. The one in 0 is Marcus's variant, the one in 1 is Epsilon. The leeches caused an accident that released the T-002's variant at the Spencer mansion, but it's not the leeches spreading the Marcus variant to that mansion. Proto-Tyrant is T-001, not T-00. And Marcus was not killed due to "experimenting on children". Umbrella has no problem with experimenting on children. That may be a "on-paper" excuse, but it's all simply because Spencer was trying to solidify himself as the sole leader and steal the other leader's research.
These re videos are masterpieces I think if you keep doing them in the same format as the re2 and 3 video they’ll be timeless would also love to see lore videos following protagonists like hunk
Can't you do more damage to the Proto Tyrant if you get behind it and shoot it in the back? I think I remember hearing that somewhere. The justification being it's partially exposed spine.
In fact zombies exist in the pop culture of the Resident Evil universe. Capcom confirmed that movies such as Night of the Living Dead exist.
The Proto-Tyrant is so BADASS!

couldn't agree more
Nah it don't, it does nothing except ruined the first game and who gives cares about Billy? This game might as well not exist no lost there.
@@WheeledHamsterI agree, I'd rather we just forget about 0.
My theory/head cannon is he escaped but got captured by wesker due to his skills. Then he was tested on and turned into nemisis.

The DKC soundtrack while talking about the Eliminator killed me 😂😂
Looking at them eliminatiors gave me a sudden urge to shout "STOP EATING MY SESAME CAKE."
Seeing Rebecca get thrown around by the scorpion will always be funny
I didn't realise I was watching a small RUclips you were just in my reccomended
Same with me too
Perhaps a little memory, virtually no intelligence

I’d say Eliminators are the most difficult regular enemies to kill from the original tank control games.
Great job guys. Keep up the good work.
The graphics on this game still hold up
Gotta love the Yugioh music in this
The naked ones were obviously joining the train version of the mile high club, so at least changed/died with a smile😊

Right, I was about to say that Birkin experimented on kids to develop the G virus with full backing from Umbrella

I like how you used the Yugioh music to make this video more entertaining. Toon world track makes this video more enjoyable to watch and listen to.
I remember someone also calling the leech amalgamations leech zombies one time.
cerberus didnt spread the tvirus through raccoon city, it was the rats.

But Lisa Trevor was a kid when they experimented on her
Zombies afaik do exist within resident evil pop culture as numerous times the word zombie is thrown around so your point kinda does a complete 180
"No walking dead" how do I move to raccoon city?
