54:xx and 53:xx are definitely possible, and I'll probably go for those times at some point in the future, but I'm satisfied enough with this for the time being. Time to move on to something more fun than this :)

I like this sinchronized part 2:19. Jump jump jump ,song game
wait. you could get health by talking to Chako? bruh i've been doing that particular section without that and failed miserably SO many times.
Phenomenal B2
37:57 You can skip the boss fight? Welp there goes my two hours of deaths
Even in Easy/Normal mode, if you grab the chest you can still skip the boss fight by avoiding the boss trigger. :p

Why is it strategic to get the map system at 3:00? It looks like it's used in a glitch but I'm not sure about the details.
Great run btw
It's used to reset my i-frames for the double damage-boost at 10:04. For more details, see my response in the other comment asking about it.
As far as I know there’s no need to bring Jenka’s dogs separately. You can bring them all in one attempt. It will save time I believe
You can only carry multiple dogs on the Switch version
@@periwinkle. oh ok sorry!))
@@periwinkle. It's so weird to see a multiplatform game where the switch version is outright SUPERIOR
34:19 I suppose that my PC version has different things than yours, for example the hook, if or if I should grab it before the battle, otherwise it no longer allows Curly to be saved. but well, I suppose that the original, which I assume is the one you are playing, has the little things about it. In some parts you let yourself be tapped to stand on top of an enemy in the early levels. something that doesn't happen in my version. I go through them. it's interesting
This run was played on the Humble bundle version of Cave Story+, but there should be no such differences between any of the (official) PC versions of the game. The rope can indeed be grabbed after the fight, but only before you drown (so you have to be quick). For the enemy thing, if you're thinking of 9:10 where I land and jump off of a critter, this can also be done in every version of the game.
51:15 why?
Mistake
Best Leader 48:30
How do you keep the sword and still get nemesis? Great run
You can't. If you're talking about Hell, Curly always has the Nemesis regardless of what weapons you have.
That end is just stupid. How they expect someone to beat that casually when they haven't played hundreds of times? I got to the end somewhere around the 47 minute mark here. I can't remember if I beat that boss at 47:15 in the speedrun or quit on the next one. I got frustrated around then and quit. I didn't do everything to get the good ending and didn't have the booster 2.0 and I didn't do a few other things so I said screw it and will go back to it later. I was playing on switch and in handheld mode also, so I'm not sure if that made it worse. I was getting way too aggravated playing and then I found out I wasn't even to the hard part yet.
10:10 does using the W key to pull up the map not negate inv frames?
No, you need to open the map from within the inventory.
@@periwinkle. cool and gracias!
Thanks for the Core tips. That was tough fight.
Hell seems to be more easy the more you play it
I'm confused why you called the Core a Kappa
Kappa is a Twitch emote indicating sarcasm/joking, so that split name should be interpreted as "Quick-kill (joke)". The "quick kill" here is referring to a strat we do in normal mode runs that involves fighting the boss in a certain way so that you end the fight with only 10-20 air remaining, which cuts out a lot of time waiting to drown after the fight. Although some version of that strat is _technically_ possible on hard mode (see ruclips.net/video/-5ok8mLJ2IQ/видео.html), I didn't go for it because it's very inconsistent (due to not having missiles on hard mode) and carries a high risk of getting hit and dying (because you have to get up close to the Core while it's still shooting at you).
16:22
why'd you get the map?
I needed it for the trick at 10:04, to reset my invincibility frames so I can get hit by that bat twice.
It skips having to use the Jellyfish Juice to go through Chako's fireplace, which would have then required me to backtrack through the level again later to get another Jellyfish Juice for Malco's bomb.
@@periwinkle. doesnt the inventory do the exact same thing?
@@animator4287 Not in this version. Inventory on its own resetting s is patched in every Nicalis-made release of the game except pre-patch WiiWare and Cave Story 3D. The Map System still lets you do it, though.
@@periwinkle. oh ok
You didn't get the spur + you didn't get the whimsical star
Because it's a speedrun and those two items are extremely slow to get and don't save enough time to make up for it.
@@periwinkle. The snake doesn't let you shave off as much time as the machinegun? Or does that only benefit you in Sacred Grounds?
@@TheRealBatabii Snake saves around 5-6s in the Sanctuary but Machine Gun saves minutes because you can fly with it.
What was all the entering and exiting the house do at 10:10 ?
I needed one of the bats to drop a heart so that I wouldn't die on the second damage-boost. It's a 1/5 chance for a heart drop so it usually takes a few tries, but the skip itself saves a minute of backtracking to get another Jellyfish Juice later on, so it's worth it if you can get it quickly. (I didn't have particularly good luck on that in this run, but I still saved a little bit of time.)
Why didn’t you collect all the dogs at once?
That's only possible in the Switch version.
@@periwinkle. oh! I didn’t know that. I play on switch version that’s why I asked. Also congrats on ur world record
I’m trying get into speed running this game and I don’t know if I’m just dumb or something but I can’t figure out how do the frog fight like you do
What aspect of it are you struggling with?
The Balfrog fight in this run is a bit on the slower side compared to what I've done in other runs, but the basic gist of it is to stand next to him when he opens his mouth and spam Fireballs upwards into his mouth. To get him to open his mouth, you have to get behind his back so that he turns around, which you can do by one of these methods: Using the fans (safe but slow); taking damage from a mini-frog (they only do 1 damage) and using the invincibility frames to run through the boss; or (if you're impatient and have the health and XP to spare) saying "screw it" and jumping right into Balfrog, taking the 5 damage from his body in the process.
@@periwinkle. I found out the problem I can do it fine on pc but not 3ds so I think the 3ds version is a little different.
@@emeraldcasino7491 Hmm, as far as I know, Balfrog behaves the same way on 3DS (assuming you're playing the eShop port?), aside from the fact that he initially spawns a couple of blocks more to the left than in the other ports (which I assume is a bug with the way they handled making the game widescreen).
@@periwinkle. hmm maybe I’m just bad on the 3ds version because I can do the fight fine in oc and switch but not 3ds
@@emeraldcasino7491 By 3DS version, are you talking about the 3DS remake or the downloadable version on the eShop?
