Yeah, the dirty old Wedge, even when the swell is small, it can still hurt you. And when the storm swell hits it can be dangerous. I grew up down on the peninsula and have many memories of bodysurfing there. Great clips! Happy New Year 🎆
Back in 2001 we moved from Michigan. Friends dad said "Don't. Go. To. The. Wedge!" Friend said "let's go to the wedge!, You're gonna love this!" I hopped on my $30 boogie board and went to the middle, caught a wave thinking it was smart to paddle straight in to shore. I caught the top of the wave right as it shot up and it threw me over the crest straight into the sand chest first. It felt like supermanning off the roof of a house and landing on concrete. Nowadays there's videos like this for kids to study and get educated... And yeah I shoulda listened to friends dad not the friend lol... I bet the dad could have shown me the right approach and technique
I’m looking to get into skimboarding, I already have a wooden skimboard that I can use on the beach but I would like smth that can ride waves, any recommendations? Preferably $200 and under?
At time stamp 5:55 to 5:59 was the sweetest move ever when you seen someone bobbing taking video in front of you. No time to look around ya on the Surface for other's on the same wave. So you Hopped over them. This was having complete control over your board, Your Body, & the Situation in Total. Well done! Keeping every one Safe on & in the water at that moment.
