Dr. Bergsma goes beyond mere "scholarship" to theology and exhortation. I'm all here for it - we've had more than enough of bare data and faithless speculation, and we were long overdue to have a real expert give meaning to New Testament Studies by connecting it to the New Testament religion

The Church keeps an 'ordinary' Jubilee Year every 25 years [aka Holy Years]. The last was 2000, the next will be 2025. Sometimes the Pope will declare an 'extraordinary' Jubilee/Holy Year:- examples Pope St JPII declared a Jubilee/Holy Year of Redemption in 1983; and Pope Francis declared a Holy Year of Mercy in 2015. There is a good chance that whoever is Pope in 2033 will declare another Jubilee of Redemption.

Listed to his conversion story where a gentleman he had hired was a devout and knowledgeable Catholic. Little by little the friend showed him Catholic teachings from the Bible. What a great story and the importance of us Catholics knowing the scriptures!

Quite a bit of commonality with Gustavo Gutierrez.

@@jperez7893 It is estimated that Jesus was born around the year 3-2BC and began his ministry around the age of 30. By estimation, said "jubilee" would be around 27-28AD. To account for a current dating of a modern jubilee year would prove unnecessary, (though fun I suppose,) since it is as cited in the Chaldean boast: Every licit Mass is jubilee! In past, I've been of the opinion that Jesus was born around 4BC, but Jimmy Akin presents a strong argument for the case above.

@@cesargarcia7074 after researching it, ive come to the conclusion that jesus was born on 11 september 3 bc between 6:15 pm to 7:30 pm jerusalem time, at the manger of the migdal eder in bethlehem; as the clues from revelations is testable: the sun in virgo and the moon at the foot of virgo with the 9 stars of leo and 3 planets crowning the head of virgo - these are very circumscribed circumstances in the last decade of the first century bc. it also coincided with 1 tishri, the feast of trumpets, and the 750th year anniversary of rome

@@jperez7893 An impressive conclusion, albeit one which will have to be further scrutinized so as to be ascertained as doctrine and/or dogma by the Magisterium of the One Holy Catholic & Apostolic Church. As per my understanding, I hereby deem it worthy of belief! Thank you and Merry Christmas!!
