Charlie's Rabbit Snaring season has begun! My favorite season of RUclips 😂 Lovely little axe and wonderful detailed review!!! Looking forward to the next video my friend!!
I started moose hunting this past week and I've been seeing a few animals. Hoping for a nice little bull. But not going to be too fussy because of the late start.
Thanks Darrell I've been watching your videos on my old PC, big screen but I can't comment on them. I made the switch to picture cord last season and never had a break since.
I don't snare usually, but hunt with a beagle. I have noticed that rabbits are not as plenty this year as well. There's a few around but not like last year when they seemed much more plenty. The axe looks great, but I personally find a machette works better. One swipe at a springy alder and done where a hatchet often bounces back.
it's a skeggox style. love it. traditionally they design was so the head could be removed and then used as a fleshing tool similar to an ulu. but today ones with removable handles are less popular. still the head allows you to choke up the handle behind the head and do more precise carving and control when debarking limbs and trees.
I put out three snares on three leads that always produced faithfully every single year. Had them out for 3 nights and not a single rabbit. Looks like I'll have to go out west to catch a few rabbits.
marbles sells a great hatchet for 30 bucks.. That beaver craft hatchet is on sale for 60 bucks. I love my marbles hatchet and I have a Gransforce Brook small forest ax, but pick up my marbles hatchet far more often

I have an axe just like that one. Dandy for rabbit snaring. Rabbits are spotty in this area.
3 snares on three runs that always produced well before the snow flies for 3 nights and nothing.
Great video Charlie. Take Care.
