Wolf Babysits Her Rambunctious Newborn Siblings

- Raising pups is a family affair; it is natural for all the wolves to pitch in.
The older siblings will assist their parents in rearing their younger siblings by regurgitating food for them, playing with them, and even babysitting. Moreover, the parents will demonstrate critical parenting strategies and techniques for the yearlings to employ when they have pups of their own.
Passing down knowledge from one generation to the next also allows the family to maintain traditions unique to that pack.
Beyond being adorable and cuddly, this Mexican gray wolf family represents the Wolf Conservation Center's active participation in the effort to save this species from the brink of extinction.
The WCC, a 501c3 non-profit organization in South Salem, NY, is one of a network of facilities participating in the Mexican Wolf Species Survival Plan - a bi-national initiative whose primary purpose is to support the reestablishment of Mexican gray wolves in the wild through captive breeding, public education, and research.

Big sister instinct: waste younger siblings time, keep them occupied until mama comes back, make sure none of them get hurt (big priority).
And of course, breast feed them

@@elliotmorin5560cause older siblings pitch in to feed there siblings so she’s feeding them but in the wild adult wolves will bring back meat and the female wolf will regurgitate it sounds disgusting but the pups love it. Kinda like how older siblings have to feed younger siblings when parents are out.

@@elliotmorin5560Firstly, it doesn't particularly matter? And judging by the age of the pups they could have milk or regurgitation. Plus, plenty of animals lactate because a baby wants them too, not just because their mothers, otherwise no foster animals would survive. Plus, most animals are still blind and deaf at that age, they just smell a belly and go charging towards it with open mouths. They could even be having their first play session outside the den. Basically there's a thousand explanations before "boohoo you're wrong."

She propably have. Wolves and dogs dont need to be pregnant to have milk. Its "phantom pregnancy" my grandpas dog have a milk once because he think that shes new toy is her puppy.
I always laugh when people use "raised by wolves" as an insult when wolves are actually very kind and patient parents.

Actualy she does give Milk because even thought shes Not there mother the other females often get into Phantom pregnancy to nurse the Pups while there mother is gone its Natural for them and often the females get all into heat at the same time but only the Alpha female can have Pups

Remember seeing a wonderful wolf documentary years ago. An old male wolf in the pack was a patient and loving nanny to generations of new cubs. It was so touching.

Read Farley Mowatt’s book “never cry wolf” and it’s fascinating the way wolves support each other, babysit, communicate, etc. They telegraph for miles and miles, passing down messages that caribou are returning (arctic wolves), like a messenger service. They can hear each other for long distances and the info on caribou and other food sources are passed on for very long distances. I highly recommend the book.

He REFUSED to appear to be fingerprinted and mug shot taken because he "is a congressman" and the judge ORDERED him to report for fingerprinting and mug shot. I don't know exactly WHY he hates wolves, but being from Jersey is a good start.

Less Wolves in ecosystems, the more dangerous the ecosystem gets.
A simple reduction of an Apex Predator can cause an entire ecosystem to go out of balance by a dramatic amount and in turn, can threaten other life in sustainability, including us.
