Lindsay, I love your teaching style. You are so personable and cover so many areas of painting, talking while you paint, about just the things people might have questions about. Just perfect. Thank you for your free lessons, which are so inspiring to me, also an art instructor. Anyone can learn to paint the way you teach!
You are amazing! I live to paint but I still consider myself a beginner and wasn't sure I could make my painting look even close to yours. But I am so proud of my work! You are an amazing teacher! Thanks!
Hi Lindsay, I just wanted to let you know that I love your painting and drawing videos. I don't do either, but I find your videos relaxing to watch at the end of the day. You are so talented and I just wanted you to know you are appreciated by non artists too!
I just watched all of your other acrylic painting videos yesterday and was craving more. Thanks for reading my mind! I just got new paints in the mail and want to experiment. I love cardinals so I will be trying this.
I love Robert Simmons brushes. They have always been a good quality brush for the money. Those acrylics look like they would be easier to use than the cheaper ones. I would love it, that they stay moister longer! TFS as always... Alice
+Alice Clark thanks! I don't think these are very expensive paints (Creative Inspirations) but they preform well. If you cant get the Smart Art Kit the paints are available at Jerry's Artarama too
I love your painting of the cardinal Thank you for doing these videos. I enjoy them very much. I was also very glad to have met you in person last June at the Big E stamp and paper convention. Your just as bubbly and friendly in person as on your posts.
Great job. my first acrylic painting was of a Cardinal. We are from Ottawa and they are so plentiful. I certainly did not know what I was doing at that time, It ended up looking like a red blob with a bit of black and a bit of orange. I think I will attempt again using your tips but my own supplies. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.
Aloha Lindsay! I went to my first ever paint nite and I absolutely loved it. I am no artist all means but after my project was done, I was do amazed! I'm starting to attend paint nite here knowing what the outcome I will have. Thank you for your awesome video and will start getting my basic acrylic paint colors and start to paint!! ♥, Sammy
Wow so I’m trying to get to grips with painting birds with acrylic and I just couldn’t get the hang of it. Luckily I came across this video and it helped a lot! Thank you xx
Very lovely painting! Now I am inspired to paint! I need the supplies though! I have been trying to get some of the longer handle brushes to use since I do a lot of sitting! Oh ya and right before Christmas I finally got me an easel for when I paint! I may have to check out this kit! Sharing your video on my fb page! God Bless and have a Happy New Year!!!
love it Lindsay!! I think I can imagine what was said when the red pencil ran. ;) Good save! Thank you for leaving it in, it helps us as your 'students' learn.
+Donna Lueders yes, I have about 5, always top notch. You can see past kits on their website. I have a lot of the mediums already because I have been painting so long but paint is consumable so it will get used. It is best for a beginner or a crafter looking to get more into art. Or an artist who works in one medium and wants to explore others.
Wow, you are wicked fast and so creative! I love this painting and hope to try it sometime soon. I am so glad Cinnamon recommended I check out your videos!
Thanks for the great tutorial! I have a random question though. I bought too much watercolor paper when it was on sale then i learned the sizing of it can go bad if i hold on to it for too long. Do you have any idea how soon it would happen if i keep the in their original packaging and on top of my closet? Thanks a lot.
+Yolanda Cui I have never had that problem, just keep it dry, it should be fine. I buy in bulk to save, I have never had paper spoil if kept dry, if it gets wet and stays damp the paper could mildew or rot. Keep t dry, you will be fine.
Ha, Bob Ross moment! Tiny little branches! I snap pictures of birds. I would love to paint the birds so I can sell at craft fairs. Don't know if I'll get that good!
stunning painting, Lindsay! i want to thank you for a year of great tutorials and wish you and yours a very happy, healthy and fun ( and crafty of course haha) 2016! xo
I am not sure what kind Lindsay uses. I use the Artist Loft brand from Michael's. It is inexpensive and I only use it to trace my outlines for my acrylic painting so it works great for me. That is also the brand Cinnamon Cooney recommend in her art videos.
+MissingOne123 any brand is fine, these are Prima, they are better quality than Artist Loft so you can use them for watercolor as well but if all you want to do is sketch before you paint go for the cheapest;)
Thanks for the tutorial but can I give you a suggestion? Please talk a bit slowly and calmer because painting is a relaxing activity and if you talk like that you make us learners (at least I am a beginner) nervous and also if we are foreigners and not English advanced speakers it is hard to understand all what you say..So If you take Art Sherpa examples she´s very calm and funny (lol), so this way we can follow and do it in a calm pace...Thank you very much and God Bless you.
very nice sharing 🤩 👌
