I've seen this movie. it's a really nice movie. the only thing I didn't really appreciate is the wrong idea this movie gives about portuguese people. Most of portuguese families are not like this one.

:D no offense, but the only half-(!)portuguese I know is pretty attentive towards these kind of fortune telling - which does not make it a bad thing at all, nor does it make it a definite feature of portuguese culture, but it somehow remains a curious coincidence^^

Where do you live? I live in the north of portugal and believe me.. There's a lot of people going to the "witch" especially in the small villages. They've a lot of superstition. Not like in the movie but its very usual. And the north is also very religious. I live in a small town with 900 residents and we have 2 churches and everyone goes to the church every sunday. The're always full and my grand mother goes to the church everyday.
