Nice simple explanation for beginning fishermen. As to other topics I'd like to see: Suzuki Engines have twin Water Port Covers (made of plastic) that often get stolen or lost. (Mercs and Yamahas don't have this issue) A simple solution to stopping theives is to attached a steel wire leader to the boat or engine with a swivel attached to the wire, and drill a tiny hold through the handle of the valve cover and attach the cover to the wire that is secured to the boat. Not only will this prevent would be thieves from taking a 12 dollar hard to replace part, but it will also stop YOU, the forgetful boater from failing to replace your value cover back on to the port. Countless boaters with Suzuki engines have had this happen to them.
I have found that with my thick mono if I wet the line before pulling the knot down it does the opposite of what it should and gets stuck every time, making me pull hard and sometimes I even break the line when pulling it down so I just pull it slowly with heavy mono to avoid heat.
@@boatus if you are fishing for kingfish, Marlin, tuna, bluefish ect with lures yes you need mono, if you are fishing for fresh water fish or slow fish maybe not.

Thanks, Robert. Good tip on the Suzukis. We'll put a general article on avoiding theft on our list of topics to consider.

Hey boat us how to get a cocelsius to reel back going
Hey Rj. Not sure what you're asking. Can you clarify?
@@boatus how to fix spinning reel cocelsius that's the name of the fishing I have
@@rjturner9075 Unfortunately we aren't familiar with that reel. We recommend you consult your local tackle shop for assistance.
Wow, you are wrong lure fishing requires mono for stretch and bait fishing at least on reefs requires braid.
Though not accurate, thanks for your comment.
