I became a Redskin fan at the age of 7 in the 1971 season. They lost in the divisional round to the niners who gave the soon to be world champion Cowboys all they wanted. 72 they dethroned the Cowboys in what was their superbowl only to play flat vs the Dolphins. I still remember the would be td pass that hit the crossbar while Smith was wide open in the nack of the endzone. With that and the crazy td Washington scored would have made that a 14-14 ot game. I thought this was going to be the year but they lost a game they were in control of to the eventual nfc champion Vikings. Redskin fans would have 5o wait a decade to win their first title in a deja vu moment by beating Dallas in the nfc championship and a victory over Shula and those Dolphins. I love these old films. Great memories of a simpler time. I find the Nfl mostly unwatchable now. It feels like the wwe now.
The 73' Redskins were ready for a rematch with the Dolphins. The Skins were in control of that playoff game in Minnesota. Outside of the 79' loss to the Cowboys, that is one of the Skins worst defeats. In 76', when they lost to the Vikes, it was age, but 73' should have been their time again

That music at the start of the saints loss...wow
In the season opener the Redskins were tossing NEW Chargers quarterback Johnny Unitas around like a rag doll 38-0
I know. I remember watching that game on TV, and it wasn't even close.
Redskins were very inconsistent at times that's why they never had any home play off games at home.after the super bowl that is!
They needed some youth
