Ubisoft Red Storm (the lead developers of this game) are an exclusively VR studio so they'll definitely be doing SOMETHING else VR related after wrapping up post-launch support for this game. 🤷 Who knows, maybe it could even be resurrecting the cancelled Splinter Cell VR.

@@MetaQuestVR I wanted to say that for Quest Pro the game looks too optimized, I raised the image rendering quality settings through the Side Quest settings, the game began to look great, the helmet fits without problems, maybe it would be a great idea to add the ability to select the 3 level of optimization in the game settings, because now with pancake lenses in the Quest Pro the deterioration in quality spoils the immersion too much, despite the fact that the helmet can handle better graphics quality. I hope this can be done, the game is great, I want to enjoy it and go to Quest Pro. Thank you

Haven't got this game yet so this comment is my pre experiencing the game thoughts. will update after trying and completing the game, I'm hearing good things in the other comments so far.
I was once a huge assassins creed fan. the games were amazing, the story, the gameplay... masterpieces. and then I tried Origins. microtransactions, bugs, and a soft lock that cost me my save file. I swore off assassins creed that day, and from what I heard the Assassins creed franchise only went downhill from there.
I will buy this game. I'm hearing good things and this trailer looks like a return to form. I hope not to be disappointed.
edit: an explanation of the soft lock:
most missions in Origins are optional and you can come back to them later. well there was one optional mission that broke that rule. the moment you got it it started, REGARDLESS OF IF YOU WERE AT THE RIGHT LEVEL FOR IT OR NOT. I'll say that again for those in the back, REGARDLESS OF IF YOU WERE AT THE RIGHT LEVEL FOR IT OR NOT. cue inescapable death loop and the game not letting me leave mission.
edit 2: Just played a session of AC Nexus. From my first impressions I can confirm that it is a return to form for assassins creed.
A bit fidly at the start until you get your comfort settings sorted. Took me till chapter 3 to nail down and controls and environments. A dream to BE the assassin!
I can’t wait. I just purchased the meta quest 2 just for this game. It’s my favorite game of all time and has always wished I could be in the game. Now I can. Best investment who ever thought of doing this is a god. Thank you. I’m going to play this all the time now. Plus it’s my early Christmas present.
It also shows that games involving large corporations are different.. Thank you both Ubisoft and Meta! It was such a great experience and I saw the future of vr solo games!

I really appreciate how Meta is driving the VR technology forward by getting these quality VR exclusive games created because it gives people a reason to buy VR headsets, which will create the technology of the future.
I mean gaming wasn't really innovating much until Meta/Oculus showed up. Just the same old flatscreen games getting released evvery year.

Very good job, the game looks fantastic. I'm glad that you got serious about producing games for VR and that you stopped producing those short games that can be completed in just a few hours.
My suggestion for the next quest title would be a Dragon ball game. I believe that Dragon ball is simply perfect for VR and will provide an extremely unique and spectacular experience. Also, since it's an anime, abnormally advanced graphics are certainly not expected, so maybe it could be also made for quest 2.

I am really not sure why Ubisoft does not do a conversion of the actual games for PCVR players. Would be fantastic.
Meta 100% funded the game as a full 3rd party exclusive. Aka it's FOR SURE never coming to Steam or PSVR. Ergo, if they DID/ever DO decide to bring it to PC it would only be for the Oculus PCVR store, which I can also basically GUARANTEE will never happen. 🤷
(Why? Meta doesn't want to promote PCVR anymore, they want to promote standalone as it's the obvious inevitable future for the ENTIRE industry. Tethered-only VR ala PCVR or PSVR1/2 was ALWAYS just an inherently temporary transitional stop-gap technology, and never the end goal. Aka PCVR was doomed right from Day 1... And numerous forward looking legendary VR figures like Palmer Luckey & John Carmack recognized that fact literally right from that very first day. 🤷)
Also, other than the character models you really aren't giving up much visually or mechanically by playing this release on standalone. With cross-gen Quest 2/3 games ALREADY looking THIS insanely impressive, the first proper Quest 3 exclusives to show up in around a year or so should pretty much be the final nail in PCVR's coffin... 🤷
From that point on you'll be lucky to even get a noticeably prettied up port from standalone/Quest [basically ONLY if PSVR2's getting such a release too]. In most cases it'll basically either be a straight port w/ minimal changes OR there won't be a PCVR build AT ALL. 🤷)
Put it simply. There's not enough money coming in from PCVR for it to be justified. Standalone is only going to grow.

I came here from a article on PC gamer saying Ubisoft assassin's Creed are gonna pullback from VR cause sales wasn't good for them . INSTEAD OF CRYING DBOUT SALES AND SAYING GAMERS ATE GONNA HAVE TO GET USED TO NOT OWNING THERE GAMES THEY BUY . Lower the game to a competitive price you guys are the problem no one else ! After my first hour: It certainly looks the part, feels big and vast. Its what we wanted. But why does it stutter so much. Especially a parkour-style game should run alot smoother than this 😵💫 micro jitters sometimes especially when smooth turning, not all the time.
Which quest? Because if you're on quest 2, it's to be expected.

For anyone asking for a PCVR or PSVR2 port, you can give that effort up now because it's NEVER, EVER going to happen. 🤷 This game was 100% FULLY FUNDED by Meta themselves as a full 3rd party exclusive (specifically for the Quest 3's launch window), which means hell will officially freeze over before it ever comes to any other VR platforms.
The ONLY possible exception would be Meta porting it to PCVR for their Oculus PCVR store, although with their exclusively standalone focus for VR basically since ≈2019ish, I see that as a near impossibility tbh. SteamVR & PSVR otoh are FOR SURE guaranteed impossibilities though.
Lol if THIS (along w/ Asgard's Wrath II) is what you can pull off with super early cross-gen Quest 2 & 3 games, just imagine what'll be possible once the first true Quest 3 exclusives start to show up in around a year or so!!! 😄 It'll be absolutely freaking MIND-MELTING! 😳🤯
With Quest 3's new XR2 Gen 2 SOC + 8GB of much faster RAM, standalone VR hardware has FINALLY reached a level of raw performance where developers will no longer be notably limited in terms of the scope & scale of the games they would like to make or the base graphical fidelity of the experience!
Last-gen (ala base PS4) equivalent game scope, scale, & visuals should be EASILY ACHIEVABLE with proper full-blown Quest 3 exclusives! Not to mention that diminishing returns in terms of visuals & game design start to kick-in DRAMATICALLY after reaching last-gen console levels of capability! (Hence why this current console generation hasn't felt like the usual "leap forward". 🤷)
It really depends on the fidelity threshold they want to comfortably achieve. It may not hit ps4 quality to save battery and keep thermals under control. Either way, yeah, when the quest 2 finally gets phased out the quest 3 will offer the definitive mobile VR experience
@@smittyvanjagermanjenson182 Battery life is a constant for ALL high intensity games. This is why the ≈2 hours of intensive game use to go from 100% to dead is basically a super reliable metric REGARDLESS of which graphically intensive game you play!
Aka, they ALL universally run at the max possible boost clock speed until they hit thermal limits (in which case it'll downclock itself until it's cooled down before boosting back up to max), which is harder to make happen than you might think as Meta's precisely tuned the max boost clock to roughly match the thermal dissipation capacity of the device. (Throttling is still TOTALLY possible, don't get me wrong! It's just not as easy as you might think. 🤷 )
If someone can't manage to hit base PS4 tier graphics with a Quest 3 exclusive and a proper AAA game budget (ala AC: Nexus or Asgard's Wrath II), then no offense but they should probably try to find another line of work right about now... 🤷
